In December 2024, I am still listening to this timeless music gifted by Musical Genius Maestro Yanni.. Long Live Maestro Yanni and his band members.. 🎶🎵💖🌹🙏🤗
I bought this DVD in 93 , 20 years later I remember every mesmerizing sequence and transition. The percussion, the duel for me will never be duplicated. This music is literally etched in my soul! I’m 60 years old but feel so alive after this 🙏🏼
Karen plays with passion, Rohani plays with virtuosity, what an explosive battle! More like a conversation really. Each beautifully express their individuality in a masterful performance. Bravo!!!

This December 25-26, 2024, listening to and witnessing Maestro Shardad Rohani and Miss Karen Briggs again and again and again during this Christmas season made my heart want to burst wide open as my eyes filled with tears of immense joy and love. Kudos to the percussionists and orchestra as well. No words can express their performance which was beyond epic, beyond magnificent. I am blown away every time I replay this video.
Over the past 20 odd years I've listened and watched so many version of this song. No disrespect to Mary Simpson, Ann Marie Calhoun, Samvel Yerminyan and all the other brilliant violinists who performed this song but the duel in this version has always been the most special one for me. Thank you for sharing this video in this quality.
I can never get enough of this!!! October 2024, Im 39 years old. My mom was into it when we were driving to the cottage during the summers… I was 11-12 years old ❤

The dueling violins of Maestro Shardad Rohani and Miss Karen Briggs is one of THE MOST SPECIAL THINGS in ALL of Yanni's music...I'll never forget how blown away I was the first time I was blessed with hearing this tune...My Gosh...Nothing but absolute MASTERS of their craft here! It's AMAZING music!

My skater friend plugged this VHS cassette into the VCR when we were stoned out of our minds in HS. I was shocked by what I saw and watched the whole performance with my jaw hanging open. I swore Yanni was Jesus' brother-the Music made Flesh- who had peeled back the curtains of heaven and allowed us fallen to view a symphony of Him leading His grand angelic orchestra. I've adored Yanni and his music ever since.
So grateful that my dad introduced this to me when I was a kid. This is real music! The passion everyone of these performers portrays brings tears to my eyes. Absolutely beautiful
Same. My stepmom introduced me. We saw Yanni in concert when they came to perform in Pensacola, Fl back in 95. They were promoting this concert. This and the soundtrack to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is my favorite. I listen to this all the time. And yes I do love their passion.
The first time I listened to Yanni's music when I was 16 years old, now I'm 39 years old but every time I watch this video I still feel great. I like the orchestra conductor (the man playing the violin with the girl in the red dress). His face looks like Beethoven and his technique is amazing.
The first time I heard this on my television, I walked into my living room and my 15 year old daughter was sitting in front of the TV totally mesmerized with tears flowing down her cheeks.

I WENT TO THE MINNESOTA CONCERT. I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THIS PERFORMANCE. I LOVED IT. I LOVED THE REST OF THE CONCERT AS WELL. WELL WORTH ATTENDING. GIFTED MUSICIANS AND A GIFTED COMPOSER.
I remember a night long ago while emersed in a painting, not paying attention to the TV in the back ground.. I looked up but only after this beautiful music coming from my television caught my attention. I'd never heard anything like it before. But even at 23 I could appreciate it for its intelligence and complexity. This person was able to bring together different genres using unique instruments from different cultures flawlessly creating a grand palette of musical compositions to choose from that would satisfy any mood. At the next intermission I soon learned it was yanni presenting his latest concert, Live at the Acropolis on PBS during one of their fundraisers. For over 30 years he has been played an innumerable amount of times and still, I never tire of hearing his compositions. He accompanied me to my art classes for 6 years because his music does not interfere with the creative process it promotes it. My kids heard it from in the womb to graduation wiring their brain for success. My oldest surprised me with a tattoo on his arm that reads, "within Attraction." It obviously made the impression I was hoping for. And still to this day I listen with the same enthusiasm as I did when I was 23 and first gazed my eyes upon him.
My mom had this on VHS when I was a kid. So grateful she would always play it and introduced this to me at such a young age. Truly incredible music, absolutely beautiful. The talent of everyone is mind-blowing, especially Karen Briggs !
The Female Violinist for sure steals the Show, the Conductor is Obviously a accomplished Violinist in his own right but she has one of those Touches By God kind of talents...no doubt she worked at it and became obsessed with it, that's really the only way to get to that point but she really does have a God given talent...
Look, I love Yanni, beyond measure; I have since I was a kid. But he looks like a mad wizard with the other orchestra players playing under his magical thrall during this song.
The thing with Yanni's music is that all the musicians automatically get a smile on their faces when they play it - and so does the rest of the world for decades to come.
exactly 20 years ago whole of croatia was listening to this melody play multiple times a day for a long time because they played it on national tv while showing the tv guide and what's now/next in the morning, in the afternoon, before the news, after the news...all the time. today i saw somebody from my country has uploaded a part of that tv guide from a VHS and youtube's contentID identified the song so it showed under the description. this is the first time i've heard this in 20 years and i'm so happy to hear it and to have found it!
I remember watching this with my mother when this concert first appeared on PBS. This concert and the Tribute concert continues to be his best work. From Yanni himself, musicians, Lady Briggs violinist, the awesome percussionist, orchestra and let's not forget the conductor gave a performance of a lifetime. Thank you all for the joy and your passion of music.
I recently heard the studio recording of this on a camping trip, for the first time. I LOVE the original synth but I am so amazed at how much the strings add. Every time Yanni closes his eyes, I FEEL THAT! Magnificent!!!!
I've said it before. This is my favorite song of my lifetime (68 years now) and I watch it often. It's not just a duel between drummers and violinists. It's a sort of theatrical play depicting a lovers' quarrel and breakup. Watch again with that in mind. Sure, the musicians are fantastically talented, but try to figure out what the composer had in mind.

Even after 25 years I still enjoy watching this concert. Every piece on this album was a masterpiece. But the violin duel was always my favourite. And the look of Yanni face at the end of it says it all.
I love this one too! Karen Briggs and the Conductor smile and seem to be talking with their violins. Can't get enough of your music. Love you Yanni and Peace.
Omgness!! They were totally amazing. She showed so much love and passion for the music and equal admiration when he played as well. I loved the performance. It is truly worth watching as well as listening to.
I remember the first time I saw this on pbs when it aired and had the telethon. My mother recorded it on vhs. What a great time that was. This is the best song in the world!
I watched this version and the newer version....this is by far superior. This version naturally blends together like puzzle pieces to perfection. The other version had the impossible task of being compared to this. They tried to put their own unique twists, but they fell short. Karen and Shahrdad struggle and push each other to musical paradise....BRAVO!!!
Love the friendly duel of percussionists. It's a classic, we love to duel each other for passion, fun and to gain even more powerful inspiration from each other.
Easily one of the best vilolin performances ever. I love watching her dance while she is waiting to play the next best part. This video and song always brings tears to my eyes. The passion in this song is amazing.
I thought I was the only one who cried. The music just gets into my soul when the two violists play off each other it's so moving. It's like hearing each other's hearts speaking to one another.
I remember being real young watching my grandmother tape this off the tv. Randomly though of Yanni the other day and just had to rewatch the whole concert. Miss ya Gram. Someday soon we'll watch it again.

The Yanni experience will never compare to any other emblems. It's a dynamic yet refreshing effect that leaves you speechless every time the harmonic circle is played, such preciseness in position of every artist displayed. Blessings to THE Emsemble of YANNI.
Simply put, blew me off of my chair when I first heard this song, it still does. Karen Briggs is Outrageous and fun to watch. Definitely the Best Violinist I've ever heard!
The first time I saw this concert and witness this amazing performance by this amazing group of musicians and been blown away after this amazing dual, my first thought after wiping my tears of emotions and elation was: I wonder how does it feel for these two on the violin to make such an amazing melody that no matter where you were in the world, this music would stop anything and anybody from doing anything else but to witness something so amazing...this would stop fights, arguments, differences , opinions and separations and just fill your heart , soul and mind with joy....holy shit...25 years later and every time I see this piece, that same thought comes to mind. WOW...WOW...the red dress and the bad ass moves didn't hurt either...

OMG, me too! What a blessing!
Nice
Yanni inspires the timelessness of music in people, including his band
What ? You grew up with this? Blessed, blessed !
my beloved Shahrdad Rohani , he is a great musician
He’s great
His soul, intonation, and skill....second to none.
Karen and Shahrdad struggle and push each other to musical paradise....BRAVO!!!
is there a newer version? where can I see it? been a fan for decades
I was there in 1993. what a fantastic venue honoring modern greek music...Bravo..
Love the friendly duel of percussionists. It's a classic, we love to duel each other for passion, fun and to gain even more powerful inspiration from each other.
dueling violins, doesn't get any better than this. Two maestros!!
Easily one of the best vilolin performances ever. I love watching her dance while she is waiting to play the next best part. This video and song always brings tears to my eyes. The passion in this song is amazing.
ditto!
I love that is so clear that she's having so much fun but at the same time is very concentrated.
Yanni is a lot better than John Tesh musically speaking.
I thought I was the only one who cried. The music just gets into my soul when the two violists play off each other it's so moving. It's like hearing each other's hearts speaking to one another.
@@ginieramirez3231 Exactly!!
I remember being real young watching my grandmother tape this off the tv. Randomly though of Yanni the other day and just had to rewatch the whole concert. Miss ya Gram. Someday soon we'll watch it again.
Today is October 31st 2024, I've been watching and listening this Concert and Music since 1996. Your Music is a powerful source of Inspiration for Life. Your Music Changed my life forever. Eternal Gratitude, Blessings from Spain. 🙏🏻❤️
Hi! Happy Monday Yanni! 😊 This is a favorite with the “conversation” between Karen and Shahrdad Rohani! Thanks for being with us again! 🌹
Dear Phyll what a great surprise...love for quarantine 💖
Yes Phill, it really is a perfect description of the dialogue between 🎻 impeccable violins both, and in each version, I love that synchronicity with the touch of wonderful complicity, and I enjoy it over and over again. Thank you!! YANN ❤️ and to you Phill for your instinctual feeling, that same one, is the transmission that I perceive 🥰🎻 Hug 🤗 giant for you and for YANN !! 🇦🇷🌞🌹

The obvious mutual respect between the violinist gets me! Loved it!
SInce my youth I've been listening to this MASTERPIECE of Yanni & his fantastic Orchestra. Indeed the perfect version of "WITHIN Attraction". I love it toooo much.. !!
I'm in love with that woman. What an amazing way to enjoy and feel music. So much respect for her.
🥰💖🎻💖🎆
her name is Karen Briggs
Everything is magical.. Yanni.. the bass so underrated... The drums duel and the violinists .. straight from heaven
Lady viola is undoubtedly number one in the female folks of 🎻 🇳🇬
I love how Yanni incorporated this fantastic Conductor into the song with his violin skills. I've never ever seen this before this video in all my concert attendances. This is what I call making maximum use of Everyone's skills and talents.
Nothing can beat this version of within attraction 😍😍
Exactly👌👌👌
The one with Samvel is much more attractive

Shahrdad Rohani the MAGNIFICENT!
The best musical duel ever. But the amazing part is the anticipation of the rest of the orchestra for the battle.
"Live At The Acropolis " as a whole is so amazing album and this piece is no exception! Thank you very much Yanni, be safe and healthy
The best Jazz/Classical crossover in history.
Quand j'ai envie de m'évader de me recentrer et de me détendre donc de me défendre contre la morosité quelque fois embêtante. Pour embrasser la vie
*Lord! How can this song give you all the motivation you need to confront this full-of-obstacles life with so much positivity.*

WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU, YANNI!!!🎹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If I had one elixir of life I'd give it to Yanni. May his music live forever.
WOW...WOW...the red dress and the bad ass moves didn't hurt either...
the smile of the lady playing violin is amazing
