This is dimentia, there is nothing you can do. I live with my mom and she cries and screams all day and all night. I get no sleep. There is nothing you can do but sedate them. I am going through this right now. Ive tried everything.

Thats not drugged. Thats a lack of drug use for mood behaviors. Then you wouldnt need physical restriants.

There’s no easy way to cope with the terrors of dementia-it’s painful for all involved to watch the disintegration that nothing may be able to stop.

I live behind eldery home.. yesterday old lady screaming.. I pop my head over. She had two workers with her.. they were a bit rough with her in the wheelchair. I told them off.. they said she's got dementia.. she screaming to me their are bad men and call the police.. I called the police for her...
Now I'm really wondering about dementia.. is it normal for dementia patients be screaming all the time?

Why children are not charged with neglect
Why are elderly not staying with their children if they have one
    If not then siblings

He should have been allowed a respectable death with loss of mental faculties. Until we can effectively treat or prevent dementia, we should allow voluntary death. Otherwise we put the patient, their family and caregivers hell. Sorry the family had to experience this.

Britain has the same problem with bed blockers, although NHS is very good with the resource it has, but still pressures on the ward, low staffing happens regular, staff pushed to limits,

Yeah, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2019, he's been getting a lot worse and eventually he fell down the stairs in April. They were originally gonna get him discharged on Monday which was 2 days after his fall but he ended up remaining in hospital for 2 months while they tried finding a care home for him. Eventually they did but it ended up taking ages to get to it

The worst part about this for me is that someone had to make that baby cry in order to film it. And that's not a fake cry...that's for real. How horrible and sad. I can't even finish watching it.

Barbara Stahlecker I thought the exact same thing. It may have only been a few seconds to film it but it was a fearful lifetime for this poor baby! Not necessary.

Try looking after them at home. It's hell. I know someone who got divorced and drunk themselves to death via a heart attack due to caring for a once abusive mother.

Oh that poor man! That is definately elder neglect. My dad died of dementia, but luckily we kept him at home, he was hospitalized shortly and then transferred to hospice where he passed away. The hospital was no place for him, he was just taking up a bed..That is so sad. I don't know if Canada has hospice, but if he had a life limiting illness, which he had, he may have been eligible for a hospice facility.
