This scene pops in my mind, and all those thoughts go away. The delivery of Ruby just makes me believe her, makes me remember how, despite all the misfortunes we had, have and will still have to endure, I'm happy to be a woman.
It has nothing to do with whether you are a woman or a man. It is cruel to kill people regardless of gender and age. I am also a woman but I would also be afraid if I were a man or someone else. nobody wants to be killed.

I almost cried watching this. Such a lovely way of portraying feminism! I love how the girls decided to do a ritual as a way to remember what is true (by learning that being emotional or intelligent DOES NOT make a woman barren) and the way that Ruby sat on the grass in awe of the beauty of being a woman and being proud of herself... why did Netflix cancel this brilliant show?? #saveannewithane #renewannewithane

I’m so happy the audio of this scene is trending on TikTok. I get to relive it over and over through other women’s experiences. 🥰 Nothing will compare to the first time I watched this scene though. My mom and I were watching it together. We just giggled and resonated with Ruby so much. I remember having the exact thoughts and feelings Ruby expressed when I was young girl. as a women we are never told to love ourselves as the society constantly expects us to uphold this perfect image which may not be the true us that's why to love being a woman is one of the most difficult thing we have to do

Ngl it’s deeply disappointing to me that this scene was put into the show. Anne has always been feminist just by being herself. She speaks up for herself, carries herself in a way that shows self respect, and has much bigger ambitions than being a wife and mother, as was expected for her time. It’s kinda lame that the producers felt they had to make her feminism super obvious. Shouldn’t Anne’s character speak for itself without needing a late night ritual in the middle of the woods?? Also, the injection of paganism into the show is just so out of touch with the author’s depiction of the people in Avonlea and Anne and all the other characters. Aside from the character’s names there’s no way anyone can claim Anne with an E is remotely connected with L. M. Montgomery’s literary masterpiece.
