@Black Bear only in the sense of when you're good the teams are silent. As an ump myself who umps JUCO and other ages there is no better feeling than when you walk out of a game with zero issues. For me there are two things I don't want to be, 1: out of position on a call and 2: the deciding factor in the game.

I can’t remember an LSU Baseball game where every on field call was the correct call. These were by far the best umpires and side and back judges along with the infield umps!! They looked and called like Major League umps!!!

Not to take anything away from Oregon but the SEC is loaded with baseball talent. And since they all play each other, well it just makes them even better b/c of the level of competition. The rest of the tourney and CWS will be fun to watch.
I thought that was a mistake. Hilliard could have faced the O-Duck lineup once through. He only threw 14 pitches in the game, but he did have those warmups also. There I go second guessing the HOF Coach who has 1500 + more wins than I do.🤷🏼♂️

I hope paul makes it to Omaha one last time. In Omaha, LSU basically has home field advantage. As a life long resident, I can tell you they are by far the favorite here.

It's because the pitcher lifted his lead (right) leg. As soon as he does that, he is obligated to pitch to the batter. Instead, he threw to first. If he wanted to throw a pick to first, he'd have to do it without lifting his lead leg.

First and third baseman have to be on the bag. If they aren’t then it has to be an obvious attempt at retiring that runner. Since the runner was on the bag during the pickoff and the first baseman was well in front of the bag it was not an attempt to get him out.

I don’t. I think that subtle difference is what separates it from the majors and keeps the amateur feel. It’s like in college football with certain different rules and field dimensions, allows for more big plays and gives a different feel than the NFL. Besides, you forget a lot of these dudes are grown men, yea they swing metals during the season but they can definitely swing wood bats if they have to
