@@JnP-Restorations It's a Johnson 12, they came on the shaft driven oldies, whereas the Johnson 10 came on the 110 and 112 if I am not mistaken. Great video, I sent it to a guy trying to buy my 140 with a Johnson loader. I had it direct with onboard hydraulics, which it doesn't work nearly as good as with the pump. I also noticed the very small pulley, my research told me it was a 6" pulley slightly smaller than the engine PTO pulley. I wonder is you are running higher flow rate with that?
@@FloridaDeere not sure on the model. Was told 27. The pulley i used was also the recommended pulley for the loader from another person in a group that had the same model loader and tractor. Im really no expert on these johnson loaders. Thanks for watching!
I would really have to modify the Johnson loader to fit the 332 is why I’m not. Loader is for a closed frame and the 332 is an open frame. You are right though. The 332 is a much better tractor for the loader.
Thanks for the video can I get more information on the bucket attachment and where you got it from and how you attached it as well I’m looking at installing one on my John Deere 317 . I also have a question about the front PTO pulley is it easy to remove and replace since mine isn’t working and I understand it’s needed for-the mower to engage the mower blades. If you have any other videos on working on this John Deere 317 I would be interested.
To be honest the loader on the 317 was just too light duty for me to use. With a limited bucket weight and the total weight of the tractor in general. It made even the lightest work a pain and a little tipsy. The manual steering made to tractor extremely hard to steer with any weight in the bucket. The open differential also made it very hard to keep traction in grass or any uneven ground without 2 to 3 hundred pounds out back. I ended up selling this one and picked up a 2005 jd compact with the diesel , loader, and 4 wheel drive. Also the biggest issue I had with the 317 is the hydro drive stick instead of a pedal. You’ll need a 3rd arm to control the bucket and the wheel at the same time. It was a cool little tractor just not something I could get any use out of. The Johnson loaders are no longer made so it may be hard to find one for your 317.
@@JnP-Restorations Hi I appreciate you getting back to me with the information after hearing what you said I’m just going to sell the John Deere 317 and purchase a small Bobcat tractor that has the loader and the mower deck as well. It sounds more sense able to go that direction that put time and energy into something that won’t work for me. 👍

What size was that pulley you had to get for the direct drive for pump?
This is the one I used. Phoenix Steel Drive Pulley, 1 in. Bore, 4 in. OD, part# 240010
What loader is it? I'm trying g to identify the same one to order parts.
It has no id tag. Best I’ve figured, it’s a model 27. The 25 is the same loader but the controls are in the right.

This one came with the loader. They are pretty hard to find by themselves

Not sure. It’s an early 317 so Probably the series 1 unless it’s been replaced.
Curious what is the lifting capacity on it?
The specs are 500lbs full height lift and 750lbs breakout.
