Yep... my favourite story was Jim Keller attending a talk by a guy from Google at which ends that Moore's law is dead. So he was going to ask to do a talk at Google titled, Search Is Dead. Keller's talks on this are instructive - his story about asking his team at Intel to map a path to 100x shrink. They came back after two weeks saying they could only get to 50x. So he asked them to try for a few more weeks. There's a lot more capacity and improvements all up and down the stack of technology used to make semiconductors. The improvements bundled up as 'Moore's law' aren't at an end, and won't be ending soon.
Keller said that it has probably 10 years left. The software companies that treat Moore's Law as dead today will be most prepared to continue to achieve performance gains when that day finally comes.
at 12:50 he said the AI for self driving cars can be trained to recognized bi cyclists, but what about fully gay cyclists, will they be targets for collisions?
Sounds like you got a plan. You could just make an online chat room, remember the good old days of AOL chat rooms something like that would suffice or AIM chat (AOL Instant Messenger from the 1990's.)but AIM was way too much like FB Messenger which has sh*tty security. last year FB account was hacked and 100+ space alien net articles were posted on my FB wall. After hacker did a number on my reputation with the space alien article nonsense, he deleted them all 15 minutes before my wife came home. she knew it was very unlike me to spam space alien articles on FB. The fact that the hacker deleted them 15 minutes before my wife came home meant the hacker was cyber was a cyber stalker and knew my wife's work schedule. So i told my wife to delete my FB account. i had it deleted to protect her, my friends and elderly mother from a cyber stalker, cyber bully hacker jerk.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my password. I would love any tips you can give me
@Kamryn Everett Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Convolver - instead of the AI silicon area, what about instructions per unit of silicon area per unit time? That might be the product of two power curves.
The log graph he shows is basically flat (aka exponential growth at the same rate) since 1985. Definitely flat since 2000. So Moore's prediction of doubling every 2 years wasn't exactly right, that doesn't mean the exponential growth is slowing down.....
Total number of transistors per chip is now about 40 billion but density is much lower than it should be. Intel 4004 was 12 mm², current processors are 800 mm².
People are all hoo haa about AI seems like they were in the 50s too and probably will be again in 50 years. Automation logic and sensors does not equal AI.
Jim Keller disagrees

your exactly right!
not sure an ai that plays 44 mil games in one day can be called the best when a human will never come anywhere near that amount of game in a lifetime
you cant teach an old dog new tricks when they are stuck with a design in there head they cant look at doing it any otherway and now they say its dead
Amazing talk.
