Do you not realize the economy is about to crash. There's not going to be any money going into any new projects. People won't be able to afford to go to Vegas by the end of 2023.
What's going on with the gap,
between Elvis Presley Blvd( Riviera Dr)
and Sahara Avenue north of the Hilton property?
The corner of W. Sahara belongs to or belonged to ( .... Caesars Entertainment..)
It's been empty since the El Rancho
was demolished ! Way ...... Back
@@silverjedi3529 A lot of experts don't believe that anymore, the economy is looking to have a very good outlook in the immediate future.
The best Vegas show I ever saw was "O" at The Bellagio... Fantastic
I loved O!
Love how you guys are SO casual during your show/program. It really helps. You guys crack jokes, laugh, give criticism, etc. Makes it entertaining too. Not just informative. You know……..the casinos there should really hire you guys as professional consultants. Really. You both know so much about it. 👍
Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it!
I remember the old seafood buffet! The Buffet of Buffets, we’d always end at the Rio and watch the Carnivale show after. We have the upcoming STLV (Star Trek Las Vegas) but I always stay at the Gold Coast, its still SUCH a savings.
The Buffet of Buffets was SUCH a blast and a FOND memory. I will miss that Paris one, for sure.
Bring back the lounge acts , give people something back .
It's hard to believe that some of the world's biggest stars used to perform here in lounges with 400 seats.
Casino resorts in Vegas no longer “give”, they only “take”. Killing the goose that laid the golden egg. 🥚
Yep, that’s what I was going to say. Used to go to bars off the casino in the evening at many casinos and they would have free live entertainment.
YES!!!!
Las Vegas use to be a vacation spot for regular folks. Now its like they are only aiming for high end folks, young people who don't gamble, shows people can't afford, and getting professional sport teams. Las Vegas is erasing what its know for.
Used to be buffets didn’t close between breakfast, lunch and dinner so if you got in on the last hour of breakfast you would also get lunch items at the breakfast price.
Concerning Las Vegas shows. When I first went to Vegas, the big shows were Jubilee at Bally’s, Lido at Stardust, Folies Bergere at Tropicana and Splash at Riviera. Oh and Siegfried and Roy were just hitting big time at the still new Mirage. Though I did see my first Cirque du Soliel show at Mirage. Treasure Island was just starting construction and Cirque was presenting “A Nouvelle Experience” in its tent at Mirage; a long run for one of its traveling shows and a taste of what would be coming at Treasure Island and elsewhere. But the variety format was big at the time. You’d have the big show piece productions then some smaller acts for 10-15 minutes or so to cover resetting the stage for the next big number; the Argentine Gauchos were in just about all of them it seemed. I’m surprised that isn’t more prevalent in current Vegas shows. Cirque does it with much more connective tissue between the acts. Absinthe and its other shows are cabaret/burlesque/Vaudeville style, smaller, more intimate venues, and can probably switch in and switch out acts based on popularity and player contracts. There is room for those kinds of variety shows now, I’d think. And could press the nostalgia button for some by bringing back the showgirls.
the landscape has changed for sure, we are losing parts of old Vegas. Just takes one to be really successful to change it back though. The casinos are all copycats haha
@@markostermann6632 I really love all the shows, but don’t go as often as I probably should. I think the last show I saw was America’s Got Talent-which doesn’t really compare to the variety/Cirque shows.
However, I just watched this and thought you guys would appreciate it, given how much y’all loved la rêve. Looks like Wynn’s new show has the same technical director as well. I’m sure it will be spectacular!

@@fearingthecrabcat Awesome - I am gonna check that out. Thanks!
Kenny Kerrs Boylesque was the most fun show back in the day.
Oh why destroy Vegas like they did Hollywood?
The Rio Seafood buffet was magnificent, one of a kind. It's pathetic that they removed it AND their regular buffet as well.
But who goes to the Rio? 🤣🤣
Bill gates and the globalists manufactured food shortages won’t fare well in Vegas.
It’s at the palms on Thursdays now
The best Seafood Buffet is over at Sam’s Town
A lot of food courts in the USA are turning into food halls. Even office buildings are turning their cafeteria and food courts into food halls. Seems like food halls are great for mom-pop, local, and national franchise vendors. But bad for employees working the buffets including the chefs.
I really wish Vegas had some more affordable show options. Not everyone can afford to spend $150 per ticket, especially if you’re going with your family and you have a large family.
I agree! A lot of them are not even worth it!!! Vegas needs some better shows!
I think that is what we are missing out on with these smaller shows not being brought back. Would love to see some more $50 ish options
$300 is the new $150.
Vegas is not for broke people.
On some RUclips channel the host was talking about how affordable a show was for an inexpensive night at ONLY $125 a ticket!
Wynn Buffet, Bellagio Buffet, Wicket Spoon at Cosmo, Bacchanal at Caesars Palace, MGM Grand Buffet and AYCE at Palms are all really good buffets left for dinner…. Technically there is the Circus Circus buffet open for dinner too so there are still a few options around town thankfully and as far as the show closing… I actually really liked Awakening? I saw it opening night and though it was really engaging and loved how they used the holograms so hopefully they can make it better
I just came back from Vegas this week. Paris was sold out. Long lines just to get a coffee. What I really miss is the Diamond Lounges. You can just go in for free coffee & small eats. That really saved $. Pandemic ended all of that.
How was the rest of your trip??
That's their excuse anyway. They could easily have diamond lounges again if they wanted to, but they have no incentive to give customers anything right now. They keep taking perks away, and people keep flocking to Vegas...
RIP Diamond Lounges - they were a great perk
How I miss the Diamond Lounges! Stupid Vanderpump at Paris replaced one, Harrah's Diamond Lounge sits empty...these corporations don't offer anything anymore, they have turned to greed and taking.
@@gregoryschmidt1233 diamond lounges were great. My favorite was PH since it was always empty, had a huge tv and couches in the back and great service.
What's odd is in AC all 3 casinos still have the diamond lounges.
They should probably just implode the Rio by now. They could advertise a Chriss Angel residency there to make sure the place is empty before they push the button.
Convert to something else
To recover, not only will they have huge expenses to fix all the physical stuff that Caesars neglected over the years; but also they'll have to overcome the serious bad vibes and customer ill-will from that period. For example, they could bring back the Carnival World Buffet and the Show in the sky, and maybe even a poker room. All would lose money at least at first; but loss-leaders like that would lure business away from the strip, when remaining indistinguishable from a strip property would not.
Don't ask me how likely I think this is....
I agree 100%! Rio needs to be imploded and build something “Resort” based. No to the aerial carnival revival.
Sec 8 housing?
@@edwil111 😂😂😂
Poor Rio! One of the first buffets I experienced in Vegas and it was really good. The carnival atmosphere was so much fun but such as the ever changing life in Vegas!
Rio buffets were delicious, not to mention the frequent 50% discount for locals. 👍
That is a hell of a deal
Le Reve was by far my favorite show. Saw it 7 times and even got a private backstage tour. I was hoping to see the new show in May but I guess not...
I am jealous of the backstage tour!
I agree with you about Le Reve. I think I saw it 5 or 6 times. I hadn't seen Awakening yet, but I noticed the reviews on Trip Advisor have a lot of brutal ones. Of course, there's a mix of 5 stars tossed in, but still a lot of negative reviews. If Wynn wanted to do a new show, I don't understand why they didn't do so using the same water facility and theme. Just come up with a new story, add high tech lighting effects, and a variety of water stunts. Fans of Le Reve probably would have enjoyed it and they would have saved a ton of money by not totally revamping the theater.
@@swlc5555 I don't know why they changed the stage - but maybe it was time to where updating it would be so expensive that it was more practical to start over.
@@richardmasters6817 Now that it's a done deal, I hope that "Awakening" becomes a success, but glad I didn't see the first version. Hopefully the changes they make will be a big improvement.
Excellent show guys ! Food hall/courts take away from the Vegas experience, there is no uniqueness in creating food areas that are just like the ones in malls at home (and we never eat at them). Demographics have changed and with the younger crowd there is no need to provide quality, most visitors are looking for a good time/ Vegas experience at any price. They have no knowledge of what Vegas was like in the 70s - 90s, can't miss it if you never experienced it. Hotel & casino deals are pretty much gone. Demand is high service is low. Vegas wants visitors to 'eat and go' , get back to spending money which is lost at sit down waited on experiences & buffets. Thanks for all you do keeping us informed!
Really sad to see the Rio so unloved. Early 2000’s I had some great nights in there….still my favourite view of strip from Voodoo Lounge bar/restaurant. Hope it makes a comeback
The cocktail waitresses were the best at the rio
@@MichaelCosenzaIII
The Rio just needs an upgrade or two.
Most likely, it will survive the construction war. !
Since Steve Wynn was forced out of his properties they have been on steady decline.
I just read how Mark Wahlberg sold his big house in Beverly Hills, but he had to take a lower price. From his asking price. He can afford it anyway. But still. I didn’t know he moved to Vegas. Wow. I used to see him and his wife at a certain great Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills. Called Il Pastaio. Corner of Canon Drive and Brighton Way. Great food. Always packed. Decent prices too.
Great info guys! Have not hears good things about Awakening! Happy Easter 🐣
Happy Easter
Another good show guys. I saw Awakening before the most recent redo. I thought the visual effects & sound were good, so I liked it. I hope it can survive. I do however miss Le Reve. Only got to see it once, but always wanted to see it again.
Hopefully it comes back better than ever
I am SO HAPPY you Finally said that Caesar’s ran Rio into the ground! 😊 I've been saying that since I worked there in 2005-2008. Even back then, when it was Harrahs (which is Caesar’s) it was terrible. Even back then the Voodoo lounge felt like a lounge on Cruise ship from the early 90s. I can't even imagine what it's like now 😮. Also, Penn&Teller is a Terrible show. Always has been. It needs to go. I will die on that hill. Hollywood 2.0 is Atlanta imo. Las Vegas would be 3.0...if they can pull it off. Personally, I would Love to see film crews around Vegas, celebrities, around town again. Haven't seen one in 11 yrs. Last ones I saw were IceT and Coco doing some grocery shopping. Great
video guys!! 🤙
3.0 is right. Lol.. I'd love it. I work in film. Wanna move to Vegas. This would be awesome...you definitely have stars there. Just net Aaron Paul last weekend at circa. Nice guy.
It makes sense. Others states have movie studios like Illinois(the birth place of the film industry before the move to California) and Georgia. Why not Nevada? You don't have do every movie and TV show in Canada, California, and New York anymore.
There was a bankruptcy involved with
Caesars around 2007- 2008
LOL! Love how Criss Angel keeps coming up in your talks and it’s funny! All roads lead to Criss Angel! ALL! 😆😆😆
I thought from the looks that Awakening would be a miss. It has the same circular stage as Le Reve without the water. I really liked the original Le Reve before they radically changed it, but I saw it 2 more times for a total of 3 times. Each time, it was changed a lot except for certain acts.
I hope they make it better, but the tide has receded. The elaborate Cirque style acts lost favor. They need a replacement format like a combination variety show, but a notch better than Planet Hollywood.
I feel bad for Vegas. It is out built itself.I know it has to always reinvent itself but you can't do it forever. I lived there during the huge boom. Helped open and work at the Mirage
The two best gambling movies no one has ever seen: The Seduction of Gina & Hard Eight.
I'll have to check them out!
You meant The Cooler and Croupier
Awesome info, thanks so much 😀😀😀😀😀
Great Video!
Criss Angel will make you disappear if you keep putting him down, his show at the Travel Lodge is selling out all 25 seats.
No doubt.
12.5 cents on half of Tuesdays. You only get half the videos though...
I love Vegas but must admit I don't enjoy walking the strip anymore since it smells like weed the whole length of it and it's full of homeless people. That's why the shows are getting taken away. People that really have some money to spend rather stay indoors now where is safe. Outside shows are for people on a tight budget nowadays. IMO
My top 2 casino in Las Vegas is Resort World and bellagio. Beautiful swimming pool and good restaurants.
Double Chris Angel attack. Best easter gift 😂😂
Buffets were going out long time ago! I remember an old youtube video that showed what a loss hotels were taking and that people wasted tons of food! The city wouldnt allow dumping the food so they recycled it and shipped the food from the hotels to pig farms!
I hope they scrap that All Net arena too 😂
Filming is and has been steady in Las Vegas. Wahlberg is onto something.
I saw the late Danny Gans perform twice, that was a lot of fun. Miss the days of lounge acts. Instead of high priced residencies, maybe bundle together a variety of acts with a unified theme (80’s, country, rock, R&B, etc.) at a $50 - $70 price point. If, for example, Pat Benatar and the Wilson sisters from Heart had a residency where each did a 1-hour set and maybe did a song or two together, that would be awesome, and doesn’t require expensive staging. Or even Foreigner and another band from that era.
The Wahlbergs burger joint by Horseshoe may be their highest grossing outlet, but for me they have the grossest burger in Las Vegas. Tried their cold, overpriced food once, never again.
Most of these new food halls (Aria, Resorts World), for me, are disappointing. The new offerings at NY-NY, including Capriotti’s, are more to my liking. The permanent closure of many buffets is sad, but more tragic is the loss of so many 24-hour coffee houses/cafes at hotels.
I like that idea for some more affordable "residencies"
Regarding technological shows, the exception would be MSG sphere. Yes - they will have several residences there, but they will do other things there. A production by Darren Aronofsky was just announced. The sphere will have 4D effects and crazy resolution tech. I’m definitely paying attention to developments there for novel entertainment
That could fill a void if tickets are reasonable
ty for the update
Thanks Claire!
Caesars has treated the Rio like a rental car.😁😂🤪
Well said haha
Two Chris Angels and one "throw up". Epic episode!
A MtM Vegas drinking game trifecta!
Trifecta!
i don't understand how the Rio can exist without the world series of poker anymore. if penn & teller were to leave then there would be no reason to ever go there
You and Mark should put up the money for the All Net Arena permits and rename it the Throw it Up Arena and Offer Mr. Angel a lifetime residency
😂 I like it.
Done!
Even though Encore is my favorite resort in Vegas, Rio is the one that has the most emotional resonance to me in a way that is a little hard to explain...............but the short version of it is that usually when resorts age in Vegas and lose some relevance, you generally accept it more because it feels natural and that they had the chance to age more gracefully.....................whereas with the Rio you don't get that vibe at all and it more resembles an emotionally manipulative and controlling relationship (due to Caesars) that results in Complex PTSD on the part of Rio............and becomes emaciated..............and I'm just left feeling simultaneously angry at Caesars as well as stinging compassion for Rio in light of all of this. 🥺
I know it's may seem weird to some getting emotional over a building like the Rio.................but I genuinely want it to enjoy a major comeback story of its life with some guidance from its original owner. I accept impermanence and that everything comes and goes, but I really am rooting to see Rio have its comeback chapter and go out more gracefully and not like this. And I'm heartened that Dreamscape is finally able to start getting to work trying to make that happen. 🥲
We got engaged at the Rio back in the day when it was the hottest hotel in Vegas. It's so sad what it's become
I am hopeful they are able to bring it back to its previous greatness
@@MarkM-wd6gm And that's what I mean when I say it's the Vegas mega-resort that I feel the most emotional connection to: because I see quite a bit of myself in it as far as being down on my luck and having been mismanaged..................to where I just can't accept the notion of the Rio going out quietly without a second roaring of vindication and redemption. 🥲
I know nothing lasts forever, but I want to see the Rio have the chance to go out on a reasonably positive note more like the Mirage or ultimately the Flamingo, something like that: where it may not end at its heyday but still is respected and cherished.
Rio was the most disgusting hotel I’ve stayed at in Vegas
@@Jacobeeez I'm curious when that was. I stayed there in 2017 and I agree, it really went down hill but back in the early 2000s it was the place to be
Everytime Shawn says "throw up" Mark should make a heaving sound.
Wahlburgers is owned by Marky Mark?! Did not know that! 😂😂😂
Haha glad I am not the only one!
I was particularly interested in your discussion about adding new shows to the vegas strip. It seems like there is a need for an off the strip proving ground for up and coming shows, perhaps somewhere between the strip and down town where the expectations might be a little more realistic, allowing for lower budgets and more experimentation. When something special and innovative comes alone it can slide into one of the major showrooms and be given the magic and money needed for a mega hit.
A great show at half the price of a show on the Strip would be enticing to many and tickets could be sold in blocks to tour promoters who need to include a show to pack their tour package deals. Even just two or three small show rooms surrounded by bars and restaurants would create a legitimate theater district destination premise and reason to spend one more day in Vegas.
All you need is a few hundred million dollars to experiment with.
I'm really surprised we haven't seen many of the small shows return. There are definitely rooms in town that can accomodate them.
YES! THIS! 👆🏼
Such a great idea. I would love to go to a show and not have to spend a small fortune on it. As it stands now, if you go to Vegas with a family of 5, you’re going to have to spend damn near a grand just to go to a frickin show. Most Americans don’t have that kind of money to blow on a couple hours of entertainment. Half the country doesn’t even have $500 on hand for an emergency. I don’t know why the F Las Vegas seems to think that we all have Rockefeller money to blow, especially with Dementia Joe doing his best to destroy the economy.
I thought Phantom had a pretty good run back whenever it was at Venetian - seems like some broadway shows could work?
I hope that starts to happen
@15:17 - Instead of Forest Fires... Vegas gets extreme summer heat. 🤷♂ - Great Weather 😂
It's funny you mentioned that! I've been in Vegas for two months relocating...I see the Rio Buffet is no longer there.... I came to Vegas 20 years ago and use to be amazed by the buffet at the Rio Hotel.. It's was the best in the world!!! LOLOL
It was great back in the day!
OPM is a great show at the cosmopolitan, highly recommend it, adults only, very funny, unique and a small venue with an interactive experience
Excited that the same company is bringing a new show and dining venue to Linq next year!
Great video from you both :)- As a resident of Vegas for over 12 years now, I feel as if Vegas is quickly morphing into a little sibling of Hollywood and LA!!! I left California for the exact reasons as to what Vegas is turning into with the higher cost of living, traffic etc!!! Kudos :)-
A lot of people moving in from the area for sure so I could see that
Facts
Yes you're exactly right Loren and The Californians will bring their leftist mentally ill liberalism with them and they will eventually destroy Las Vegas just like they destroyed California trust me it will happen I work all over the city and I don't know of any long-term Las Vegas resident that likes this California invasion
But Vegas has no culture and the weather sucks!
I will be at the Venetian next Friday-Monday… we will check out that carousel bar with darts.
Let us know what you think
We used to love the Rio buffet, and the Buffet of Buffets deals. A bygone era now.
“Awakening” is an ironic name if people are falling asleep during a performance. :-)
Love the 🎠 bar idea for Circus Circus.
That would be something worth going to Circus Circus for :)
If you have enough drinks, the Carousel Bar does, in fact, spin! 😉
Awakening was an amazing show. I don't know anyone that saw it and didn't love it!
Criss Angel is a awesome I saw his show. U guys are great keep up the great work. I hope u & your family have a good Easter.
Thanks! Have a great Easter as well
Thanks
With Tilman Fertitta coming to the strip he could bring more variety as far as restaurants & shows. Maybe not as much with restaurants as he owns his chains but those aren’t yet established on the strip so it’s something. Just a thought there. Also, really don’t like the look and feel of the All Net complex. Just call it the Criss Angel Arena and scrap it haha. Great video again guys!
I am just happy to see a new player on the strip. Hopefully he brings some uniqueness for sure.
Seen all Vegas shows more than once over many years. LeReve @ Wynn was about on par with O at the Bellagio, the top two shows in Vegas. Awakening doesn’t come close. Too bad but there it is.
Ohhhhhh noooo another Criss🤪 Angel joke!!! Poor guy!!! The Tiki bar sounds really cool!
That tiki bar does sound great.
My son and DIL were both performers in LeRéve. It was a complete shock to everyone associated with the show that they were closing it down. They mislead them in telling them that they were going to reopen but then came out with the announcement they they were going dark indefinitely. Some of the performers were able to get jobs with Cirque but a majority it was an end of their career. My DIL is a synchro swimmer so a good number of the girls moved over to O. My son also works at O but in the carpentry department. He was an acrobat in LeRéve and played the role of the bad guy. So sad at how many people that had their life affected by Wynn’s poor decision. All I have to say is karma is a bitch.
That front area of the Linq has changed so many times they have no idea what they're doing with that property!!!
When it was the Imperial Palace that area used to be front valet....the Englestad built up that front area with a small slot area and bar with a moving walkway to the main casino, then they leased it out to Beecher that put in a bar..after Caesars took over they expanded the casino all the way to the strip....but that area opens on the north and south doors that literally has homeless and buskers hassling people as they enter and leave...Guy fieris had to build up a fence to keep their patrons from being harrased .
I heard that Caesars Palace is closing down also to clear space for formula x which will cost 2k per ticket
Lol. Throw it up! That’s your catchphrase. Keep it going😀
🤮 😂
Harrahs used to have a carousel slot area that really turned, it was right by the famous statue they took out. Also tiki bars are great, we Love the Golden Tiki off the strip.
Agree on Golden Tiki! Have you tried Frankie's?
No, never heard of it
@@TWODIRTYSLOTS It's on Charleston. Good tiki spot.
Golden Tiki is my jam. Hopefully this new one brings some of the same vibes
We just stayed at Rio a few days ago…. Pillows were so tiny and they said they didn’t have more to bring so we went to the Walmart and bought some!
Trying to build something “fancy” on Valley View & Flamingo is crazy
So many of my friends loved Le Reve. My friend thought “O” was fabulous and then saw Le Reve and was amazed. I saw it four times, so much to see. The reviews for Awakening have not been kind.
I liked Le Reve much better than “O”.
"Throw it up" everyone drink!
One day I'll just say "put it up". One day. 😂
Rename it Throw-Up Arena.
Las Vegas has out priced it self. It's nothing but a rip off now.
I'm 63 and have been going to Las Vegas since the early 80's and my last trip was June 2022.
My favorite hotel was the Rio because the World Series of Poker was there and I played it starting in 2009.
The first hotel I stayed at back in the 80's was the Hacienda. The Dunes and Stardust were still around back then and the mob ran the city.
The corporates have destroyed Las Vegas. It's nothing but a rip off now with all of the excessive prices for things.
Not likely I will be ever returning because of the pricing which really hurts me because I'm a senior now and don't have many years left. Big business always fucks things up.
Gamblers want cheap rooms and cheap food so that we have money to gamble. We want value for our hard earned dollars.
Now we are mugged right at the front desk.
The mob needs to make a come back. They knew how to treat a customer.
Also with Las Vegas Arena: I simply feel fork up or shut up at this point. September should be the cold hard ultimatum where either they pony up the investment money, or else deny all their permits and allow someone else to put that prime real estate to good use.
Hopefully they are forced to sell the land finally
The Rio buffet was great. Until the prices started getting ridiculous
Yeah when I used that video I had of it closed during COVID that showed the last prices I was kind of surprised. For years even after they raised prices to Strip levels they gave 50% off for locals which was nice. They did away with that and I hadn't been since. Felt like a shell of itself in the end when they closed off part and made it the upcharge seafood buffet. It was a neat venue when it opened. Drove forward the buffet concept in Vegas.
The only buffet I know is at the Rampart Casino, open Thursday thru Monday. They offer a 2 for 1 on certain holiday.
Someone has to build and pay for a first class sound stage if movies are to be shot in LAS.
Criss Angel needs to up his game I like the fact they may have the Hollywood 2.0 thank you for the update
I can’t see anything doing even Okay at Rio right now. Piecemealing it together makes no sense.
That arena was never going to happen. First it was supposed to be a basketball arena then the casino/arena idea came up. The area at Linq didn't make any sense for table games since that's where the bathrooms were. And as for the Rio I only went to that buffet once and it was very impressive.
I'm not surprised at all that the lounge at Genting Palace is becoming a Tiki Lounge. I've walked past that place a few times when I stayed at Resorts World and it always looked empty. Would be cool if Vegas becomes a movie town. I think the last major Hollywood movie that filmed there was Jason Bourne 5, I love that big car chase through the Strip. The Aria was featured quite a bit in that film.
Played semi pro darts for 15 years, was 12th in Ontario,Canada at one point. Would love to play at this bar.
Saw Le Reve,it was an amazing show. There was an all access documentary on you tube behind rhe scenes of Le Reve which was really interesting.
There where a couple of deaths be performers in the Circ shows, so maybe it had an influence on current shows.
Current Vegas shows are a far cry from the past great shows, they seem like extensions of AGT.
I did like the Chris Angel show when I went 2years ago!!
3:18 Wynn, Cosmopolitan, and Palms still has high end buffets as well as Caesars. 5:25 The Genting Palace Lounge was always closed whenever I tried to go there, so I'm not surprised that they are changing it. Maybe it wasn't popular or they didn't have the staff to have it open more often, despite it being a gorgeous venue?"🤔🤷♂️ 9:22 VERY surprised that Awakening isn't doing better and that they are actually having to temporarily shut down performances for a couple months in order to make improvements and have rehearsals. Even though nothing (not even "O" at Bellagio) can be as spectacular as Le Reve, I thought all the promo footage for Awakening looked fantastic (more impressive than some of the Cirque Du Soliel shows) and I was excited to go see it in person. Thought it would be extremely popular.
Thanks. I was talking about Caesars owned buffets that were part of the pass. Should have been clearer with my words. Yeah I agree Genting Palace Lounge is so beautiful. I think this will make the place very popular.
The Palms is an Indian Casino now - I'll pass.
@@acerothstein4755 You mean Native American. They were never from India. Christopher Columbus just called them "Indians" because he mistakenly thought he landed his ships in India. And what do you have against Native Americans? We stole/cheated their land from them with empty broken promises of deals that our country never delivered and haven't treated them honorable as human beings. So they have every right to have casinos and get their money owed back from us.
Howdy boys ! Why are they building a food hall at Rio when there’s only about 20 people on the property and 15 are employees lol. They should do the renovations to the rooms etc first to draw people back. The last shows I saw were Piff the Magic Dragon and Terry Fator and both were really great. The Circque shows are amazing but for some reason they always put me in a trance and I nod off lol. Glad the weather is warming up as Im coming in 3 weeks . Great show guys ….have a good weekend 😎😎😎
I stayed at Rio a couple weeks ago, and it was actually pretty crowded (by today's standards, not like in their "prime", of course"). There was a really long line at the check-in. I never eat there, though, because I am a cheapskate and won't pay resort prices for food. I always go local for eating. (or any place that sends me a dining offer).
Been wanting to check out Piff. Followed him since AGT
@@markostermann6632 I saw him in early 2021 when most other shows were still closed . I had a whole round table booth to myself due to social distancing. I like his witty sarcastic type of humor . It’s a fun show .
@@anthonylagano2371 Hard to beat a set up like that too :)
Palms and Cosmo buffets still operating and two of the best value
Yup I should have been clearer. I was referring to Caesars owned buffets that were part of the pass. Definitely still quite a few left around even if it's a lot less than before.
As always because most of these forms and podcasts only concentrate on the Strip most people and tourists continue to miss out on the real bargains. Hands down best buffet for the money is Garden Buffet at Southpoint. Best offstrip Ellis Island for food and beer. Tiki bar Franks on Charleston and Golden Tiki. All these so-called new stadiums will fail we already have too many stadiums too many venues not enough sports teams Acts or Talent to fill up any of these new buildings not to mention the ridiculous high prices you will have to pay to fund the ridiculously high price of the construction already done
cosmo needs a dinner buffet.
I'm surprised that they didn't build the Stadium to FIFA standards. I'm also surprised that they were not able to get special dispensation for it, if it meets 95% of FIFA's standards.
Maybe that was an excuse but you would think FIFA would want a game here. I think not building it to FIFA standards was a big oversight.
@@Milestomemories Totally agree. I don't know how it was overlooked.
I love you guys discussing football (soccer)😂😂I’m not sure if it will be a sell out or not, unless there’s a lot of Man Utd fans in town. ⚽️🇬🇧
I think there are enough throughout the US that they will fly in for it
Love your channel guys.. incredible job! 😎🤘
Side question, what platform do you guys use to record your remote dual podcast? Great video, and zero audio drift, which is very common with ReStream, Riverside Fm, Streamlab, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks! We are using Riverside now and it has been solid for the most part, but isn't perfect. We were using Streamyard before and had a ton of problems. Unfortunately I haven't found a bullet proof solution but Riverside's local recording seems to work better than others I have tried. I was even able to record an episode from a cruise ship at sea with really slow uploads. My bandwidth was so bad we couldn't even see each other, but in the end no one noticed with everything recorded locally.
@@Milestomemories Thanks for the info! I have read a bunch of comments from people saying Riverside has bad audio sync issues. B
But some people say they haven't. So weird. I would hate to record an interview, then have to back to the person and say "we can't use this footage. Can we redo it again?" Thanks again!
Just bring in a proven broadway show like Phantom of the Opera or Hamilton to the Venetian. Those are proven shows ready to go!
Ceasars let RIO Casino go downhill. Place needs a Overall'd plumbing ec.t.That company put not enough money back into the place. Didn't give any extra money for us in the buffet after only gave us 3 days to work a week. Or any placement of a job any other flagship Prperty. Did care for hard working employees. SAD
Not surprised at all about the LINQ table games. I like to go from casino to casino playing a few bucks at each and the dealers in that spot of LINQ were clueless and worthless. I asked how a side bet worked (my first mistake I know) and the dealer was like “it costs $20”. So i toss $20 in chips. He puts the $20 on the bet- it obviously loses and he refuses to explain how TF it’s supposed to work. My wife and I still joke about everything - it costs $20.
I think the only thing that would save All Net Arena is if Fountainebleu expanded on to that property with Koch money, Phil Ruffin from across the street bought it, or if John Fisher built the A's park across the street and built a resort to serve it like he allegedly was going to do in Oakland with his Howard Terminal proposal. Otherwise the NBA would go in to Oak View's proposed resort at Blue Diamond next to the proposed Brightline high speed rail terminal. I think with this economy anything new would be self financed or government funded.
went to a buffet years ago at rio. rio is off the strip. that is always a problem.
Bonus video with double Chris Angel burns
Flight Club opened 5 months ago. 6:54
Wow I didn't realize it was that long ago. Thanks for the correction. Glad to give a look inside.
Tales of the Gold Monkey was great Indiana Jones ripoff on ABC back in the 80’s. Love the idea of a Gold Monkey tiki bar
Maybe it was Penn & Teller magic that made Linq table games disappear
They are good.
Best Show in Vegas..outside of Absinthe
I wanted to see awakening last time I went but tickets were expensive it was like 160 they need lower prices
Sounds like RIO may be scuttled to accommodate a new baseball stadium
That site is still in the mix but Dreamscape has hinted if it did happen they likely would keep the Rio and build it on the backside where there is a ton of land.
Hi! Wondering if you had any suggestions for a good monte cristo sandwich in Vegas? Thanks!
Which podcast were you talking about with Penn talking about the business side of shows?

Unfortunately,
this will be the second retooling for Awakenings.
I still have hope.
Oak view group is making a potential nba ready arena or possibly play in the t mobile arena for a nba team
Rio was the place in the mid 90s
It was so great and festive back then. Makes the current state of affairs even sadder.
