As usual an enlightening explanation of a new function.👍Will this function also be available in the free excel online version?

Can't know for sure, but most likely at some point it will be.

@@ExcelGoogleSheets I'm curious what the update speed of Excel is. 😏

It varies, but mostly between 6 months to a year from initial insider version.

how do you get these functions?? I don't even have lambda. How do I install that particular version?

Assuming you are on office 365, under File->Account you have options for updates.
If you want all the most recent cool toys you can join Insider program available again under File->Account. Otherwise you can wait a bit and just do a regular update.

Interesting…can the header of the first table be part of the range? That way I don’t have to copy paste the header.

I like to keep my data separate, but, yea, it should work.

Sir, is Vstack function available in Google Sheets?

    • @TheShocobo

this command was first announced by MS on March 16... Seems like MS team is trying to differentiate it from google sheets by creating new functions available only in Excel.

    • @ExcelGoogleSheets

No. Unfortunately Google Sheets hasn't been releasing much lately other than design tweaks.

@@ExcelGoogleSheets Sir, is there any way to achieve the functionality of Lambda function in Google Sheets?

      No.

Instead of using multiple IF statements to remove 0s for blanks you can use 1 SUBSTITUTE formula instead and have VSTACK nested inside.

You can put you desired header as the first item in the VSTACK instead of copy paste. I NEVER do a VSTACK without converting all data to tables. I like your demonstration of LAMBDA. Too often LAMDA is taught using pointless, inefficient constructs.
