Puerto Rico's population peaked at 3.9 million and it now is around 3.3 million people, that with economic stagnation and Government fiscal crisis is the reason for having a lot of abandoned buildings.

Beautiful sunset. I will be traveling there from New Jersey in a few days. Buye Beach is in the city of Cabo Rojo. I have a sister that lives there. I've never been to Gulligan's Island, but plan to in two weeks with another sister of mine. I also intend to vlog it. Lost a Mavic drone a month ago, but I have a spare Phantom 4. It'll work. Thanks for the video.

One of the main reasons of why there are so many iguanas around the island is because many people brought them as pets and when they became too big and were not able to take care of them, they release them. The conditions on the island are perfect for them so they took over it, they eat pretty much everything people plant. There are so many around my house. I actually love them, they make me feel like I have dinosaurs in my backyard. 😂😁

Ponce (pronounced "pond-say) has a wonderfully preserved historic district filled with Neoclassical buildings. Aside from old San Juan, Ponce has the best preserved historic district on the main island of PR. I own the 2 story pink and green building at the beginning of your video. (a future hotel) It's really worth a day walking around "El Centro". And "Gilligan's Island is a lot of fun. Thanks for the video.

Hello Chris and Carol. Thank you for visiting Ponce, Gilligan's Island (Guánica) and Playa Buye (Luquillo)! This is a 2020 update about Puerto Rico. On January 7, at 4:24am, Puerto Rico was rocked by a powerful 6.4 earthquake, leaving houses and structures collapsed with more than 5,000 people homeless (and still today!). The most affected municipalities were Guánica, Yauco, Guayanilla, Peñuelas and Ponce. Now, the water on Gilligan rose 2-3ft above normal, meaning that the island "sank" after the earthquake. I had the opportunity to visit Gilligan last year (2019) and it is beautiful as seen in this video. Also, the church in Ponce (seen at 1:20), got very damaged inside (because of earthquake) and now it's inaccessible. It is possible to be demolished for remodeling, but the Priest has confirmed that there is no confirmed demolition yet. Hope you may see this comment after almost 2 years 😆
    Regards,
    ENAS🇵🇷
