  • The "poor man's" accelerometer/motion sensor! These spring-vibration switches are high sensitivity non-directional vibration induced trigger switches. Inside is a very soft spring coiled around a long metal pin. When the switch is moved, the spring touches the center pole to make contact. So, when there's motion, the two pins will act like a closed switch. When everything is still, the switch is open. Great for basic projects and wearables!

    These sensors are flexible devices that are used for measuring various processes. The working principle of vibration sensor is a sensor that operates based on different optical otherwise mechanical principles for detecting observed system vibrations. The sensitivity of these(Pezo Electirc) sensors normally ranges from 10 mV/g to 100 mV/g, and there are lower and higher sensitivities are also accessible. The sensitivity of the sensor can be selected based on the application. So it is essential to know the levels of vibration amplitude range to which the sensor will be exposed throughout measurements.

    But when you cover it with shrinking tube it will not get the space to vibrate

    Fun project! What about leaving the enamel on the wire and using capacitance to detect vibrations (as one conductor moves in relation to another)?

    • @Nematics_Lab
      @Nematics_Lab  4 года назад

      It won't work as Capacitor have two plates but they have insulation layer in between so no matter how hard you shake plates won't make any contact

    This is a great idea. You may want to adjust the amount of heatshrink you use, because too much will dampen the spring.
