for some reason i cant find Strange Pursuit, but for a track i often overlooked on the the lp, the demo is SMOKIN'. its part of the Rhino Recombo DNA cd (limited) and most all of the Duty Now... songs are way better as demo's...that album was poorly produced in retrospect. Eno probably saved the first one, but Duty would have been a monster follow up with better production. More of a monster...i guess without hearing the demos, ignorance is bliss. That 2x cd is a MUST for any Devo fan. The first cd is partially a bootleg lp called Function:DNA...basically the demos of the 2nd and 3rd lps
@Larry Fine i saw em in the mid 2000's and man, they were still outstanding. i dont think they woulda did it if they still didnt have it. i do wish id seen Meyers on the drums, though
I did! Twice. New Traditionalists tour and Oh No! It’s Devo tour. Paramount Theater, Portland OR. Saw them again about seven or eight years ago, still good but obviously not the same.
...grreatt....thanks for posting this....it's been a favourite of mine since I first heard it on a b side..... always wondered how it would sound if the guitar was played through a Woolworths Dancette speaker.....
thanks for posting this dude. sorry about the accidental comment. seems like you have some big fan on youtube leaving you some nice comments, always worth a laugh. cheers.
Find the 2x cd Rhino did called Recombo DNA...its basically all the demos, disco one covers the first 3 lp's, with a few unreleased gems and Be Stiff, Booji versions...unreal. The Duty Now demos especially blow away the final mix.
Wow, you gotta calm down just a bit. So much for having a conversation. It's easy to make your kind of comments when you aren't standing in front of the person.
hahahaha holy shit what an argument - I hope you're not a Beatles fan Pure88And88Strong...because if you are, I'd give the Anthology albums a wide berth for your own safety!!
It's a DEMO dude. Like it says underneath the video. "from Recombo DNA. Not from Duty Now For The Future. I have that version too. Are you such a dumb fuck that you don't realize that bands sometimes have varied versions of songs, such as this by DEVO, FROM RECOMBO DNA (SINCE YOU CAN ONLY READ CAPS!). Now take a valium and chill the fuck out dude. Your gonna hurt yourself. And I'll fuck myself whenever I damn well please. (it'll be LATER instead of NOW just to spite you) Now what?
So fkkn raw!!! I'm glad I discovered DEVO in 1980 and never missed an album release but this is next level!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I don't like about Devo is their demos almost always sound better than the actual tracks. This is awesome.

That was my bad. I was a novice at RUclipsry.
Was gonna put this on my Devo playlist but the 3 minutes of silence at the end nixed that idea
