Costumes in this game feels very underwhelming compared to past games. I remember Tales of the Abyss having some of the best costumes in the series. I expected this game to surpass it.
Lol. Just what I thought. All the really cute looks are all DLC. Like come on, no hair varieties and about 7 pallet-swapping Normin suits in the main game. The push to buy outfits is so intentional.
Or... you know... you could just... not. The game is perfectly playable without them. Besides, they've been doing this since graces. I'd even go as far as to blame Vesperia's PS3 edition to starting it.
game nowdays have good costume only in DLC. I remembered back when played the abyss, it is really challenging to get all the costume by doing many side quest. but now, u only PAY to get the good ones. shame
Thanks for the video! Is there a guide somewhere that shows how and where to get these costumes/accessories? I'm worried I might miss some. I'm specifically interested in Rokurou's color variation, Eleanor's Exorcist cotume, Eizen's winter clothes.
How do I get the colour variations? I'm guessing the winter clothes are unlocked normally same with swimwear via story. But those colour variants are awesome
There's not a list of what you can get that isn't from DLC and Tales Coins, is there?? Cause I'm trying to figure out if I have everything before New Game Plus that isn't bought from anything. Haven't done Hidden Dungeon yet but I'm about to. Which has my 58 Katz Chest for Fluffy Lulu. Which should be the only thing I'm missing. Cause I think all other side quests are done and I have over half the trophies. If I'm missing anything else, it should only be from the Tales Mini Games rewards and not their shop. That's the only thing I can think of that I haven't done...that I don't care to do... Not sure if I'm missing anything from quests though. Edit: Cool. I do have everything for Velvet at least. Except the Hot Spring outfit from the Hidden Dungeon which I'm guessing everyone gets one for it. Weirdly enough, I already have Rokurou's Hot Spring Outfit without even doing that hidden dungeon. Interesting. I forget where I got it from. There must be 2 ways to get it then. Found a completed guide that lists the items in the order they appear in your inventory, and this video helps to see what they look like at least.
You get the Boss outfit for Eizen by beating everyone in the Character Card family, after you beat all the kids and go to Katz Corner, if you beat the dad he gives you the outfit. I'm not sure if you have to beat everyone before beating the dad but that's what I did.
That's how many? i've beaten four... Himeko, Hidemi, Yuto (or is his name Takeshi? its confusing because the name he says is 'Takeshi', but the name written above his words is Yuto), and Nobumichi. Is there a fifth?
I'm not sure who is where but there are 6 counting the dad. They are in Taliesin, Yseult, Loegress, Stonebury and Reneed, with the dad, again, in Katz Corner. And yeah, I remember being confused about Yuto/Takeshi too, maybe that's a translation error?
Considering I usually play in Japanese....wait, no Berseria is one game I play in english (since learning Ray Chase voices Artorius... And Darin De Paul voices Melchior.... ((aka Noctis and Ardyn))
Chuyin-Culin Chunfly Do the sidequest regarding the Earthpulse in Yesult. It opens up before the final dungeon. Do Zaveid's sidequest for Eizen's jacketless outfit. It opens up in Port Reneed after doing the final dungeon
At a later point during the story, after Mount Killaraus, go to Stonebury and talk to a man in front of his house in the back of the village. You may need to progress in the Menagerie sidequest for this. He will tell you about some kind of accident that occurred in the area. Head to the city at the foot of Mount Killaraus and talk to Grimoire inside the Sanctuary. After the conversation and a skit, you will receive Magilou's colour variant.
How can I unlock all jacketless, winter, color variant costumes and Mini, Jude, Milla, Ludger, Marta and Lloyd, Lizard Tail, Danger Jr. and bookworm Sorey
The only one I can really help you with there is the winter set. Each winter outfit is an item you can get from those little mini games like the face matching or that weird card game. Each one costs 2000 tales coins. The rest of that stuff I got just by doing all the side stuff.
How do I get Jacketless velvet? Edit: Just got it! For anyone wondering, this is somewhat specific. First, get level 10 on cooking with Velvet. Then you will visit the prison cell you break out of from the beginning of the game. Then play the skits that come after battle. As in the triangle for ps4. It works!!
I'm like 10~12 hours of gameplay. I found a cat with minigames who sells accessories and the cat costume. I thought this game would have a good variety and bunch of cosmetics, but I'm disappointed. Senran Kagura set my standards of japanese games very high by giving so many customizable items in the base game. The more years passes, more games games are being sold in separate pieces...
Why do the Tales games never have good websites that tell you how to get stuff. I swear this game series seems like a joke every other game i played has sites that have good guides.
They are? I thought the alternate colors for the main outfits were fine. The music costumes are nice to have too, since I hate how tales games tend to change the battle music a bunch as the story progresses. The swim suits were servicable... the winter suits were nice, specially since a lot of the game takes place on the frozen island. The boss outfit was kind of cool, the server outfits are a nice throwback to older waiter/waitress outfits, and some of the jacketless outfits actually look better then the normal outfits. I don't at all see how these costumes are in any way awful with the exception of the norman costumes.
Why bother making a pair of good costumes, right? Instead throw in shitload of goofy accessories and recolors of normin sets most of players will never use. Fucking A.
I love the description of Magilou's Jacketless outfit.
Sad to see they didn't put any effort in the non-DLC costumes.
That all went to the paid dlc lol
@Something Diabolical I'm like really disappointed. I'm not going to buy no dlc I was at first until I read yalls comment.
Unsurprisingly
My Velvet wore a top hat in every fucking cutscene and I regret nothing.
I’m bothered how rokurou can only be choked by clothes or totally naked

Yep.
Troi Towel: Books Drawing Life calm down broke nigga. It's all cosmetic.
Ehh it's Bandai Namco. They love to lock things behind DLC
@@LeonomusPrime The point is that all the games before this didn't need DLC to give you costumes, dullard
Character exclusive outfits:
Velvet: Villager clothes and Prisoner clothes
Laphicet: Villager clothes (Laphicet Crowe's outfit) and Bienfu Garb
Eleanor: Exorcist Uniform
Eizen: Boss Clothes (Casino outfit)
Character exclusive haircuts/hairstyles:
Velvet: Villager Style (short hair)
Laphicet: Winter Style (w/hood)
Magilou: Hatless Style and Variation hairstyle (w/different colored hat)
Eleanor: Variation Style (w/different colored hair ornaments)
you should post a video showing how you got each costume or type out a guide
Velvet wearing her color variant outfit, the hot spring outfit and the swimwear makes her even more beautiful (and hot) to watch...
game nowdays have good costume only in DLC. I remembered back when played the abyss, it is really challenging to get all the costume by doing many side quest. but now, u only PAY to get the good ones. shame
Loved lukes Berzerker outfir
Cat on head plus towel wrap is gonna be the boys' garb.
Nice video! Thanks!

I dont know if there is a complete one, I found a few, but none had every costume
Links to any or all of those lists pls? I kept trying to search to no avail.
Idk about Rokuro's color variation costume but Eleanor exorcist costume and Eizen winter clothes can be bought in the mini games shop
How did u get so many costumes? from side quest or by the ship exploring?
How do I get the colour variations? I'm guessing the winter clothes are unlocked normally same with swimwear via story. But those colour variants are awesome

How to set the size and placement of accessories? I saw one streamer do that on his stream
Actually, their color variants kinda look like cameo costumes. Especially Rokurou's, he looks a lot like Van with that grey jacket.
Really hoped they will give everyone a special outfit like Eizen with the boss outfit.
Boss outfit looks really good. How do I get it?
I still can't believe these count towards the item collector trophy.
Plus you can't view them before purchasing.
How do you unlock the villager outfit
