I'm trying to replace the actuator on the driver door. I got the new one put in but for the life of me cannot figure out where the metal rod connects to. I'm assuming it's to the exterior door handle mechanism but can't figure it out. I'm referring to the end with the u-shaped bend and the metal piece that slides over it
@@raiderman28 Thanks for the reply Raul. Do you know the metal piece I'm speaking of? It has a hole in it like it's supposed to be bolted on, but when I was taking the actuator out, it was already loose
watch this video and it will show you how to remove the door panel.. once the panel is off, you can disconnect any plugs. watch video all the way through. toughest part is the window switch, if your not careful you can crack it in half.
You have THE BEST video on how to get the ATS door panels off by far. Thanks for helping all us ATS fans.
Thank you for the kind words
Thanks for making this video. The way you filmed and explained everything was awesome. I'm getting ready to install door speakers soon.
In this video the rod has a curve to it and goes into the actuator. Are you talking about the rod inside the door, behind a he metal??

The metal rod usually connects to the door actuator straight down from where the rod runs.

Not sure what you are talking about.
I have not taken apart one of these on this type of car, so i an sure where it goes. Most of them hook onto something, not screw on to it.
Thanks for making this and giving some good tips
Can you upgrade the door speakers?
I wouldn’t. Usually they have a factory amp and ate crossed over. So if you do replace them, they don’t usually sound right.
Thanks for the answer!
How do I remove or get access to the trunk button on the driver side door panel? Can I just pop it off?
You have to remove the door panel
@@raiderman28 I was actually able to just go ahead and pop off the button without removing the panel, thanks though.
great help
Thanks you had good tips
On the ATS rear door handles, how do you get access to unplug the connector that comes out of the door handle itself?
