When he recited 'Nagumomu' look at her, you can see how happy and delighted she was. That is how you feel when you love Carnatic music that too a Thyagaraya Kriti.

Athinu shesham when i was in college .... I was going through the worst phase of my life...i used to hear LP , Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd etc .. in those times...oru change nu jagadhodharana m s subbalakshmi version kettu...kapi raagam and composition bhayankara ishtamaayi...then i searched for the other version and i heard your version of jagadhodharana .... It was an absolute joy....entha parayuka .... Ettavum santhosham thonniya samayam .... Enlighted aakuka ennokke parayuka ennaal ithaano ennariyilla ... As a human being enikku enne thanne ettavum best aayi thonniya times....my spine was shivering....orikkalum marakkilla ningale....
I think it's the first time I hear about him, know him. He appears to be a brilliant artist and good personality. His rendition of few lines were calling. What he spoke about interpretation of music and being happy as a musician serve as testimony to his knowledge and skill in the music and involvement in life. He is amazing. Wishing him all the best and a great time for the Carnatic music lovers.
This man is a real genius. He is the successor to Chembai Vaidyanatha Swamigal and his disciple Yesudas. I think SJ Menon is the next generation in that line

He is one artist I respect a lot- Both as an artist and as a personality. I have never missed any of his work and each one of those is unique in its own respect. His recent work, Swapanam, easily deserved the national award. But nowadays mediocrity is the norm, so I am not surprised by that either! I still remember my first meeting with him, a concert in Bangalore, where I was patiently waiting for my turn to speak to him and to my utmost surprise he even called me by my name(We had chatted a couple of times on orkut and that was it!). A special person with a special touch in everything he does. May that long continue! Nice interview as usual by Dhanya Varma. One request- why do you need to include English always whilst interviewing, especially Malayalis? Malayalam is a beautiful and poetic language, isn't it? :)
