Vladimir Feltzman is on the piano. He is a son of famous soviet composer (author of many famous soviet songs) Oscar Feltzman (dead in february of 2013). He was born and graduated in USSR, but now (many years already) he lives in USA. This concert was recorded in Moscow. Yuri Bashmet (famous russian altist) conducts.
Great, thank you. He's fantastic, totally fresh and at the same time so in the tradition. Mozart would have loved it! I hope there is a recording?! best regards
Perhaps I will upload here today or tomorrow, the old record (70s) of the same Mozart's concerto performed by the Soviet pianist and professor of the Moscow Conservatory - Dmitri Bashkirov. I hope you enjoy it more. I'll tell you a link here as soon as the upload this video (or rather: audio - digitizing LP-records).
And so. Ergo. Dmitri Bashkirov (piano) and Pavel Kogan plays Mozart's 24th Piano Concerto and Fantasy c-moll KV.396 (recorded in 1980 and in 1970): /watch?v=iWVUvqaf9AE&feature=share&list=UUO1jgkW7upquR5Uc2n3fXsQ
And while you can hear in the performance of Dmitri Bashkirov 17th piano concert of Mozart (G-dur): /watch?v=jkIX1ktx5xc&feature=share&list=PL8B507848CD145873.
Well, but I did not like. Too individualistic style of performance by Felzman. Mozart cosmic scale crushed and lost because of it. I recommend for you to find and listen works of Chopin in the performance of Vladimir Feltsman. On RUclips there is, for example, the complete collection of Chopin Nocturnes There is under the video a lot of admiring and grateful comments. Although I personally don’t like them. Do not like for the same reason - too individualistic style of performance by Felzman.
