I am really excited and thankful that you've started a series like this Ms. Jenny! I was really searching for something that'd take me to a journey through the montessori shelves!!!
Ma'am the way u think through the shoes of children really appreciatable Thank u for the video this was my first video watching montessori way of teaching
I came upon your channel while working on a school project, knowing I want to put my child in a Montessori school and practice it at home, but needing to do research for school specifically and I'm in love with your videos! Helpful not only for my school work, but to know how to do and what to do as my child gets bigger!
Indeed, this video is very important to me...as a new person in the teaching profession...how to guide the children while enjoying without stress is very wrong.❤

I see how the order of the shelf - left to right, high to low - fits to the writing process, I also was trained that way. But the youngest children struggle to reach the upper shelf when there are 4 - board shelves used. On the other hand, the older children have to grab real low for the advanced activities. On 3 boards we as teachers struggle to fit in all different activities 😅 Is that only my observation?
I know some of the shelves I've had to work with were also too high for my youngest and smallest students. So the second shelf acts as the first and then we work our way down. The advanced materials, that the little ones shouldn't be getting out just yet, were put on the top of the shelf just out of their reach.
Thank you for your interest! Showing the activities in action is a great way to understand how they work. I'll make sure to include demonstrations in future videos so you can see exactly how these Practical Life activities can be done. We also have many activities from EPL already like Spooning, Pouring, pegging and many many more on our channel. Please feel free to explore. Your feedback is really valuable-stay tuned for more!

I am a mother of 16 months old baby. N i try montessori exercise at home. Have a low shelf with scooping activity as i saw that he was quite interested in scooping. My question is, what to do if after a few time of scooping, my child start pouring things out in the tray or on mat?. Also, how to present wet pouring to the child. N how to make sure that they dont pour out intentionally n make mess. Or what to say to the child if they do so. I know i asked alot of questions in one comment. My main point is what to say to the child who is not doing the activity as intended?
Hi Gonika :) Its ok for your child to pour the materials out but at the end its important to make sure they tidy before returning the materials back to the shelf. I would say your child is too young for wet pouring... better to wait till they are 3.5 years

I think you can make sure that the shelves are not too high. These are a good height for even a 2 year old.
