i realize I am kinda off topic but does anyone know a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
Good work on highlighting the CPU/Memory limitations. I have a 2017 iPad Pro and can run 2 without issue. I don’t see the need for any more so no big deal. Nice review!
I like very much the way you test the apps. Your videos are the first ones that I tend to see best when I am on the hunt for a new app. It is clear to me that many times you are hired to do the videos, but I find your opinions quite unbiased and educated, one important thing that I look for. Greetings!
Out of 850+ videos, I have only ever been paid for three of them. I also make it very clear that this is the case. If I don’t say anything about being hired then I haven’t been hired. Also those paid videos where on my terms because I refuse to be controlled in some whay.M. I make videos because I want to make them and I make them the way I want to make them period.
@@JakobHaq I apologize if I have hurt your feelings in any way, that was not my intention. Thanks for your comment, because I didn’t know. If it was the opposite, being paid, I wouldn’t blame you because you put a lot effort in your presentations and you would deserve it. Anyway, your answer makes me like your videos even more!
Always something to be gained from your videos Jakob. Thanks. Now comes the thinking on the purchase ...
I have to agree! This one is awesome. Great video! Congrats on passing 20K subs! Well deserved my friend!
Thank you Brian! It feels amazing having come this far. 👊🏼
Great video. Thanks for putting this together
Awesome video man! I appreciate you taking your time to make this.
I like this app and I was trying it out yesterday with a Korg Kaosillator pro running through it. I got some really spacey sounds out of it and I'm impressed. The sounds I was able to make reminded of a Hawkwind gig I went to in 1973 when I was a teenager. I'm not a guitarist but I do own a McNally Strumstick (it's a 3 string dulcimer with an electric pickup, and is very easy to play) and a cigar box guitar so I'm going to try putting those through it as well.
Hawkwind !

I'm an old rocker grandad who thinks that old age is just a social construct. 😁
Love it, sounds so good. Really enjoyed the more hardware centric approach to the demo
My only application is live dub, so I am all about the interface. Clarity and ease of interaction is crucial. That's what makes the Holderness apps so good.
I like where they're going with Modley, but it needs some things. A couple of XY pads, for starters. I'd like to see an envelope follower. That would want some sort of side chain routing. Modley could approach Flux:FX, if Flux wasn't buggy and abandoned. I can see it replacing a number of effects that I keep slotted in AUM for that one thing I want, like FS Freezeverb, frekvens, or Echo Pitch
I suggest you check the latest video i put up! 😉 Just now >>> ruclips.net/video/5rcmwxWd7oo/видео.html
You say "tutorial", I tap on the "like". Simple. Thanks a lot, Jakob. I had been overwhelmed by the app. I still am, but not as much as before your video...
I’m happy you found the video useful. 👊🏼
Jakob Haq Abso-freakin-lutely! 😁
I’m sold 🤪 I have downloaded Instagram and pretty sure I’m following you but I don’t really understand it too well yet 😂👳🏼
Excellent as usual! Thanks for giving an in-depth look at how it works. P.S. Funny ending made me smile!
I’m always happy when someone manages to stick to the end. I always try to put something extra at the end. 💚
A beautiful review, with beautiful results.
This is great. I have only the KORG Micro, and KORG whatever you want, but THIS is cool. I am a person, who make or take music in the old style.
This is that! I'm try it.
Thank you.
Mödley Crüe 🤟🏻This thing is the softer, fluffier version of Turnado. Turnado is whips and chains, Modley is feather boas. Really really expensive feather boas in the vip room (ie expensive cpu)
Hi Jakob, another great video :-) And yeah, I bought Modley on your recommendation and, while I only scratched the surface so far, I don't regret it at all.
Quick note: there's a typo in your RUclips long descriptions (not only in this video); ELECTRONISOUDS => ELECTRONISOUNDS. Cheers Jakob! -- Alex / Satri
Fixed the type-o! Thank you! 👊🏼
I was going to pass on this one but when you recommend an app, I buy it ! I'm sure I'll be glad that I did.
As a guitar player before coming to iOS music, I've got 8 or 9 delay pedals - all are useful - there is no limit to how many delays you should own! :) I've already downloaded a number if delays for iOS, I'm definitely buying this one next! Thanks
This sounds great for my uno, I’m not digging its delay and this is a fab fix. I’m using my old zoom g2 guitar multi fx for my microfreak and it’s really good.
hey! youtube? his content is good!
💚💚💚
Modley is awesome!
This was great, but I’m really here waiting to see you pop out from under the covers at the start.......don’t forget... ;)
👊🏼😂
As a delay lover this seems cool. But as an Ableton Live user, I can do the same with much more freedom just using the racks :)
This is a great app. Everyone should definitely have it. So much more than a delay. Calling it a delay is deceiving. You definitely need other delays because, as you said, they all have their own flavour. It depends what you want. It it's crazy distortion of various kinds, this baby can do it. If you want something subtle then maybe a normal delay might be the answer. What I just said is obvious. Nithing brilliant there. Haha. Have fun.
Fabfilter just came out with a ton of AUv3 apps
Awesome app 👍 - awesome stuff 👏 - it’s like the Swedish Dreamteam has hit again 😊
Thanks for the reply Jakob. Yes I use Moog apps as stand alone with ROLI seaboard Block and Arturia Keystep MIDI controllers. Appreciate letting me know aI can use AUv3 mixer app to run the MODLEY delay it sounds fantastic.
Appreciate all you do for use and sharing you are very helpful.
Thanks jakob, I don't need it... I got it & its not just a delay...
its a multi FX compressor reverb booster chorus flangy multi everything..... 👍🎹🎹🎹🎹😂😂
This app REALLY looks interesting & useful. Especially since there are all these magical new spacey granular guitar effects coming out. But Jakob I would love to see you compare it to Sugar Bytes Turnado. Another kind of modular app that also lets you build & manipulate just about any kind of combined effect(s).
I can see why some people draw similarities between Modley and Turnado due to their modular nature. However I wouldn’t put hem in the same category since Modley is a delay with a main delay module that cannot be turned off. Turnado in the other hand, has been built to be a completely modular performance effect beast. There’s no set effect in Turnado, everything can be bypassed and switched out. Plus the touch interfaces really is a huge point with Turnado. I would never use these apps in the same manner basically.
Ahhhhhhh good point. Thanks man keep up the great work.
Problem with this delay is I can only use one instance comfortably without blowing my cpu. With say, Kosmonaut I can have five instances very comfortably. Modley is great and sounds awesome. For my workflow, it will see less use as lighter delays will take over. I’d also seriously recommend Turnado...
Yes it is very cpu hungry. 😅 Now I wouldn’t compare Kosmonaut to this app because Modley is modular. The modular approach and being able to move modules around gives Modley a unique ability to drastically change the way that sound is being processed. Kosmonaut will always have the same audio signal routing and that can’t be changed. Instead of arguing that Kosmonaut can do the same thing as Modley, I’d argue that it would be more fair to say that Modley can do the same thing that Kosmonaut can and more.
This channel has made me spend so much fucking money
I’m sorry 😅😅
@@JakobHaq Oh, don't be, you've got one of the best niche channels in all of youtube! I've spent a lot, yes, but it's money well spent thanks to you.
They should've added granular module on it
An Arturia MicroFreak! I'm jelly!
Great app. Nice to its made for the pc and i0s devices.
Tjena! Nice presentation on the plugin. Is it possible to use lets say phaser only without delay?
Tack! Regarding the functionality of this app. You cannot turn of the main delay. No matter what you do, that unit is always audible. Hope this helps! 👍🏼
Jakob Haq Ok, thanks for quick reply. That would have been too good for this price to be able to use all the other effects too without the delay audible.
Sorry man, gotta disagree on the must-buy recommend - It's cool as a "studio" plugin, but for *live* work it doesn't hit the mark. At all. The docs don't even contain the word MIDI. Can you control it without looking at it? MIDI Learn? OSC? Preset changes? Description says it has "Time sync" - Does that mean Ableton Link? IAA-Sync? MIDI-Clock or only internal? Don't see any of these in the docs klevgrand.se/downloads/modley-docs/ 🙁
You can map MIDI to AUv3’s through AUMs MIDI system. Open up the channel system by tapping at the channel name. Then tap the icon that looks like “mixer faders”. There’s a whole midi system there where you can add controllers and map a huge amount of stuff. Yes this works with Modley to, I just tried. I’ll be making a video about it.
I suggest you check the latest video i put up just now >>> ruclips.net/video/5rcmwxWd7oo/видео.html
Btw, I even made a tutorial about this today (if you need it) 😊 >>> ruclips.net/video/5rcmwxWd7oo/видео.html
Jakob Haq - Couldn’t possibly ask for a better answer!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
(Now how about that sync? - it always bugs me when things don’t lock up to AUM’s time.)
Hey thank you for this video! Can you tell me how I can use an iPad for Audio (like Modley or the Analyzer) integrated with Ableton on PC ? How high is the latency?
Hi, can I add 2 filters, both a low and high pass? i.e can i add multiple instances of the same fx?
does it have a large amount of presets or not really?
OMG..... its wikkid...
👍🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹👍
Is this cc MIDI map-able/ controllable?
Model?
Why can you call a delay with built in reverb apps ... do reverbs always win in rock paper scissor? Isn‘t it a reverb app with a delay?
As I state in the video, the main delay can always be heard no matter what you do. It’s the last thing in the chain and it’s always on. This is a delay with the ability to add a reverb (among other things) into the chain. It’s not a reverb app with a delay.
It was more of a philosophical question concerning all apps, but your reasoning fits in many cases I guess. The delays can’t be turned off. Good reason. Thanks!
Ah, I’m very bad with philosophy because I generally deal with facts. 😅 You can of course make a reverb with delays. I’ve always loved the Delay as a “thing”. I mean It’s literally the basis of other fx like chorus, flangers, phasers, haas processors even reverbs. I mean a reverb is really just delayed reflected sound.
прикольно
горячий ☀️😅
Hi JaKob, no ‘learn’ for external controllers?
No, not on iOS. I don’t know if the desktop version has that though.
It’s possible through AUM, though.
EISERMANN Of course but only for the totality off the sound/app, not for each effect button and/or effect apart.
Right?
No Mads For all four effect slots per pre/loop/post stage you will find up to six parameters to control via MIDI. And for the delay parameters as well! Go to Menu -> MIDI CTRL -> Channels -> select the channel where Modley is in -> Modley...
I’m always thinking of stand-alone mode when people ask me this. 😅 I completely forget about the internal AUv3 midi system.
Kosmonaut?
I wouldn’t compare Kosmonaut to this app because Modley is modular. The modular approach and being able to move modules around gives Modley a unique ability to drastically change the way that sound is being processed. Kosmonaut will always have the same audio signal routing and that can’t be changed. It’s not that Kosmonaut can do the same thing as Modley, it would be more fair to say that Modley can do the same thing that Kosmonaut can and more.
Gave you a like because I do enjoy your videos overall, but I'm not an Apple user and you seem to focus on iPad stuff... so I'll be unsubing for now. I'm more of a hardware guy. I have a couple volcas, a kaosalator pro + and a Triton studio. I have nothing apple except an old matchbook sized iPod I was given years ago. Good luck to you in all you do. Keep creating you are an inspiration.
Thank you for the views and likes and I hope you find what you’re looking for. 👍🏼
Regarding the type of content I make. I have mixed music making with hardware and apps, and combos in between, consistently (60% Apps / 40% Hardware spread out over 750 videos) for the past four years. I’m not “this” or “that”, I’m am a mix in between and always have been. Use whatever works is my motto. 😅
So basically, you *do* need other delays, for resources, sound, simplicity, UI, etc. Looks great though; adding it to the wishlist.
@@JakobHaq I totally get that and respect that about your channel. I first found you talking about the uno synth. There is nothing wrong with your mix of apps and hardware... I just cannot follow along. I hope that makes sense.
@Raven North I get it. 👍🏼
@Aaron McPherson I can only speak for myself but I want different sets of setups depending on what I do. So I do need a variety of different fx plugs, synths and drum-machines in order to build my various setups. It all depends on what I do.
This is an exaggeration. There are a lot of delays and other effects that we can combine with each other and we can get the same top results. And even resources are not overused. But here we deal with one au unit where even the authors point out the high cpu consumption. I wouldnt be so sure that this app is so extraordinary. At least not at this point. 🤔
Yes one AU unit, meaning one active fx node and one control instance. This is the whole point of the app for me. With multiple apps you’d have to do an incredible amount of switching between apps in order to set stuff up. That alone makes this app more hands on than a setup with multiple apps. The modular interface allows one to put up to 12 different fx and processors in one chain (13 with the main delay) pretty easily. This is not something I’d normally do with a multitude of different apps on one channel because it would quickly become more of a chore. I’m not completely convinced that the CPU load would be lesser either with a setup like that either. Sure, It all depends on the number of apps 🧐 I’d have to do way more testing before I can make up my mind.
.
In the end the modular interface changes the way I interact with these “common” effects and it changes how I think about stuff too. It’s like that old “Modular synth vs Synth” topic. For me the interface of Modley inspires me to do things I wouldn’t normally do. Just like I do different sounds with a modular system compared to what I make with a non-modular synth. I hope you get what I’m trying to say. 😅
I also think that alone the possibility to reorder the FX chain is one thing you couldn‘t do that easily with a lot of separate apps - this fosters creativity enormously I would suppose - and you learn a lot about signal routing influence on the end result as well
Hey man ... i love your videos , but stop yammering on and on ! Your new approach to the video is gonna lose me . Short and sweet works for me . Thanks bro. Keep up the great work .
I’m confused. This way of making my content isn’t really that new. I’ve always put a lot of time into breaking up parts of a video, mixing it up between sound demos, review, tutorial etc. And I also expand on points by talking about various topics and ways of thinking of stuff. Maybe you’ve missed those types of videos? I’ve been doing it for at least two years ... I also stopped doing just shorter videos over three years ago. I have since then expanding on the way I make my content and the time and effort I put into them. I’m really confused. If you could give me more precise info on this “change” and when you felt it happened? I won’t be changing the way I do stuff either way, but I am curious to understand exactly what you mean. 😅👍🏼
Can this be used on iPad internal iOS apps like Moog model D or Moog model 15 or do you have to have external hardware devices to use it ?
You can definitely use it with internal stuff. There are many different apps that supports Audio Unit Extension plugins (AUv3). How are you using Model 15 right now? Are you using it with any other apps or are you using it in a stand alone mode (just that app loaded).
