    Hi Andrea! You most likely won't see my comment, but I find it helps to roll clothes instead of fold them, because it takes up a little bit less room, plus, it is easier to pull clothes out.

    Have fun on your trip! My parents live in soCAL also (Mohave desert area). We did the trip two years ago (takes us about 25 hours to drive from where we are). We went to Knott's Berry Farm also! The tickets were much cheaper than going to Legoland, which we had gone to several years earlier when it was still new. Between that time and when we went back in 2014 the ticket prices for Legoland had almost doubled! So Knott's was a more affordable option, and it was not crowded at all when we went even though it was June. We rarely vacation when the public schools do, but my mom wanted us to be able to visit with my sister and her kids and so we had to work around their school schedule.
    We did Disney world in 2011 when we lived in Florida. Since we've moved we actually live almost exactly equal driving distance from my parents in CA and Orlando for in either direction. So we are trying to decide which way we want to go for next time, lol! We only had seven kids last time we went to Disney

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  8 лет назад

      We've went to Disneyland several times, but it is so expensive and we spend most of the day standing in line. It come out to like $25 per ride! :) Knott's Berry Farm is so much more fun!

    Great organizing and simple packing tips. We only have 4 kids and I started colour coding everyone in the family when there were only 2. I get so many comments that it's a bit OCD of me, but it really makes it so much easier for the kids and even other people to help keep things sorted.

    Wow! You are amazing! I tend to over pack for everything, even for a day trip. I foster children and have 3 adopted of my own and it's so hard to get a pattern because there are children constantly coming and going. How many outfits should you pack? Also, do you have a video regarding how many items of clothing a child should have in their closet? I am overrun with clutter right now! Thanks!

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  8 лет назад +2

      I haven't made a video about how many clothes we have for each child, but I plan to do that next month when I do some clothes shopping. For this trip we packed 2 sets of clothes plus what we were wearing, so 3 outfits per person total. I've done a load of laundry each day, which is small, consisting of the previous day's clothes.

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  8 лет назад

      It's a computer screen/ tv wall mount arm. It's the kind that makes it so you can move the screen around. The brand is Rocket Fish. We got it at Best Buy. I think any kind would work. Tom took the plastic off the side of the van and then drilled a hole in the frame of the van. He used a lag screw to attach the mount and then replaced the plastic. The piece that attaches to the van stays there all the time. We leave the tv attached to the arm and lift the whole thing off the mount to store it in the attic until we need it. If you watch our van organization video, you can see what it looks like when the tv has been taken out. ruclips.net/video/X5_Jl33Fsrs/видео.html

      Wouldn't that be fun to run into each other?! My girls wear skirts or dresses most of the time, but they each have a pair of jeans that they wear sometimes, too. We don't have a "dresses only" rule; we just prefer them because they are pretty, feminine and comfortable.

    • @TheMillsFamilyVlog
      @TheMillsFamilyVlog  7 лет назад

      We don't use very many cleaning products. We use water and microfiber cloths for windows, plain water and regular cloths in the bathrooms, we scrub the inside of the toilet with a brush without cleaner, a feather duster for dusting or a wet cloth, if needed. We use plain water and a mop on the floors. (I had never really thought about this until now.) I buy soap for laundry and dishes. Sometimes I mix up a scrub using baking soda, dish soap and citric acid for the stove top. We use vinegar sometimes because we have very hard water and minerals build up on stuff, but I guess we just use plain water for almost all of our cleaning.

      The kids have a vide variety of clothing styles in a variety of colors, its just that they wear the same color on the same day. Can you imagine how hard it would be to keep track of that many young people? Coordinating outfit color makes it much easier to see who is in the Mills' clan when they're out and about. Clothing choice is such a superficial thing to worry about. Maybe think of it as a school uniform instead. Homeschool uniform.

    You should let them pack for them selves in there own suitcases and then have you check because then it would be easier in the morning. Also you should let your kids express themselves through there clothes, all I see in your videos are browns blacks greys and other bland colors unless it's your colorcoded pillows water bottles etc, you should really just let your children choose there own clothes, school supplies, pillows, water bottles, etc

      Nora, I know you probably mean well... but it's like that awkward moment when the guy who makes microwave dinners for himself in his apartment every night starts telling the head chef of a busy restaurant how to run a kitchen.

      Andrea Mills actually I pack for myself everysingle time I go anywhere and I need a change of clothes. When I was Edens age my mom would check it to make sure I had everything and she still does today. It gives the children more responsibility to be able to be prepared for the real world. Just warning you, when they are 30 years old they will be living in your house and be depending on you when I'm gonna be in LA livening my dream because my parents didn't ruin my life by not letting me do anything accept for chores. Now if you'll excuse me I need to pack for my trip

      Nora McNabb What she is trying to say is you are very quick to tell others what to do when you don't know how it's all done and she's been doing this for years. If you've watched her other videos or even just this one you'd know she is incredibly organized and packs for everyone because it is easier and faster that way (even if you don't think so). They also wear matching clothes, in the entire spectrum of the rainbow, for simplicity and ease. She has said many,many times that if her kids did not want to wear matching clothes then she would not make them AND sometimes they chose not to and it can be seen in her videos. Maybe consider the phrase next time " do whatever floats your boat, as long as it doesn't sink mine".
