Ljatoshinski was a Soviet composer. Born in Zhytomir (like Richter). Maybe comparable to that other Soviet composer Bortkiewicz, but then you also had Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich to name a few other slavic composers
Liatoshynsky was the Ukrainian composer first of all for me. But also Soviet, that`s a fact. Bortkiewicz was never a soviet composer, but rather a Ukrainian-born Russian with Polish roots and an Austrian passport. I would say, Richter, Gilels, Oistrakh, Neuhaus, Kogan and many others were all Ukrainian-born Soviet musicians.
Superb.....Great Romantic Tradition.....rarely heard (Why?).......BRAVO from Acapulco!
Good this concerto is heard. Was totally unknown to me. Honoring the composer.
Чудова музика. Браво виконавцям!

It goes without saying that Slavic nations can produce and have produced a lot better music than this.
