Hey guys, who saw this coming!? Full patch notes here so you can see what exactly has arrived in this surprise detailers update!
forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/detailers-patch-1-patch-1-1-6f1.1693090/
They're really going in the right direction here, just hope they consider adding ways to let the community weigh in on the future of the game.
They're getting there.
That Urban elementary school is a god-send ❤
An urban college would be appreciated too, since it's also an enormous building that has a lot of demand thus a PitA to place. It doesn't need to be really small, just at least half as big as the normal college.
@@Ebalosusnaaah, in real life its the same its normal mid or long range from home. Just connect it with a train…
Wow surfaces is the biggest one for me I think...what a great update! And I appreciate that it is a little surprise :-) and I agree with the line tool and search bar 🙂
this was a much needed update considering the high maintanance cost of the normal (previous) serivce buildings!
Very excited for this update 🙂
this is absolutely amazing. this was why i didn't let the hate for the game get to me, cause i believe this game really had immense potential. what i really want is bigger maps, but i suppose the modders will be working on that
I love all these new additives! I just wish the sims could actually "use" the parks, such as sitting on the benches, seeing them playing on the playgrounds, and sitting in the stands watching a speaker or concert going on. Also, I was so hoping that they'd bring the bicycles back into the game from CS1. Oh how I do miss that! Maybe we'll see some of that in future updates??
I for sure hope so!
Wow, this is like a surprise birthday party right? You go into the game and boom all these nice people/game-features say hello. I could literally 'hear' the huge smile you had on your face while recording this. So great to see CO is finally catering to the detailing community in their fanbase.
It would be a cool asset to have a building like the urban highschool to allow an actual road through. It isn't uncommon for large cities to have sky bridges between buildings plus it could make for interesting layouts
Yeah that would be awesome! Sky bridge gang
Between the new asset with one and find it, it should be no problem to create one.
It is good to see cs2 is growing like this
Looks like city skylines two is back
H U G E W!!
Update is 6GB and it makes multiple very famous mods redundan which is a great thing!
To some extent... but Tree Controller has brushes and other features not yet vanilla, Extra Detailing Tools still has, well, extra stuff (and Triton has confirmed it still works happily with this patch) but the new meshes supplied mean more APM kitbashes incoming.
@@tigonologdring9189 I was mostly refering to the majority of players who dont use mods now have some degree of access to these.
The game finally became successful, I play with mods and I have to count on them working and not breaking stuff, custom assets needs the game to restart to actually load, nice seeing them do that. We still need ponds and fences
Small towns and villages are back on the menu, boys! Most excellent! What a stunning addition of service assets. I'd say it's more of an asset pack (free!) with some desperately needed size variety, than a detailer's pack, but it's definitely a win! This really goes a long way in restoring my confidence in the game.
Oh I am very pleased with the patch notes and more detailing items!! That's what I missed the most was watching you make the city yours. When you do not have much detailing to use, it's hard. They are doing more and more to draw us all back in and it's working!! 🤩 Maybe I'll buy it now even tho I still cannot play it until I get my pc fixed. Just to busy with work to give it up to the Tech guy. Happy, happy!

"Over here you'll see a man getting off with two dogs"
Choked on my toast.
Ty for the update VOD. 🥃🥃
This is great!!!
I have a funny feeling that this was gonna be DLC but paradox decided to make part of the patch.
The new assets are just gorgeous.... especially the public transport ones.......loved this update and just overly excited to see these implemented in your series❤❤❤
FINALLY small and medium size buildings
I love these videos. They are always my first stop after a patch or DLC releases. Thank you.Your enthusiasm is infectious and I was jumping for joy (not really, not in my chair but close) at each of the building reveals.
I wonder if cims use the stairways? Also some of the new parking lots appear to have two entrances? I love the new props and can't wait to see them in use. With this new patch we can get a lot of summer play in now for CS2. Your new city will benefit a lot from these new assets and I'm excited to see where you take it with modding.
I'm tickled pink about this update and the excitement in your voice, Egg!
Brilliant update, and nice to hear true OE enthusiasm for the game !
Isn't it mate! Onwards and upwards!
This is really great
Hope they have a few more underground metro stations in the works as well, such as a multi line version, or one with a station building rather than just the entrance pavilion, etc.
Really happy with the new additions I've started playing CS2 a lot more recently!!
SOOOO exciting to see this!
Oh dang, the Services & Surfaces update!
I've seen it finally a good update!
Really love this update!
Best thing about the surface painter is, I believe, that you can expand surfaces from some of the building/plot assets. Great to hear you are so pleased with the update.
good addition with all the small versions for suburbs and outskirt villages. might install again soon :)
Looks a great update!
I'm loving this patch (when the mods don't break it). Just with we had lane-specific turning and better lane switching
Good direction. Still missing a lot of things and features that we had in CS1.
For instance: cims using parks instead of everything being dead cosmetics.
This really does indicate that CS2 is turning the corner and is on its way to being the great game it promised to be. These assets are lovely, and make me excited for what may be coming in future from both CO and modders. And the bug fixes have already had a beneficial effect on the new city i started after the big gameplay patch. Well done Colossal Order.
This is amazing! Rural development will be much easier now and the economy will not be impossible during the first hours of gameplay, you could use all the services. I hope they keep adding buildings like this and implementing what the community wants. Mods can really show them what people want and I love that they listen and implement them intm their own way!
Definitely a step in the right direction.
That bus station !!!
Nice job colossal order. However I’d love to see a unique building pack. Really enhancing the skyscraper selection even more so variants and customizable building/skyline. I feel that’s stilll missing in my heart but wish you could grab that off a workshop and have all types of amazing assets.
U forgot about the new feature on extending the surfaces / decals on exisiting assets. Its in the 'paint districts' menu ;)
NOW im ready to buy CS2. Such. A. Good. Update. This makes me excited for the game.
7:55 "A man getting off with two dogs," UK night life DLC confirmed?
9 months ago, I was gonna buy cuties skykines 2, but didn’t. Now, I think there’s a reason I should buy it
Magnificent update.. only thing that would have made it better would have been some fences and props.. they probably coming after their break. Love these new updates!
9:30 why do the most random things happen when egg is recording i swear 🤣🤣
Roundabout: A happy end to a road. XD
Meanwhile me waiting for console release
Great, thank you very much for your information job.
You are welcome!
All good stuff (though I hope we can turn off zoning on roundabouts, as that is one thing I appreciate about CS2 compared to CS1). The only issue for me is pre-existing builds will need to be modified due to service buildings not having nearly as big a footprints as before.
I'm wondering if these service assets give us a sneak peak at the architecture we will see in the upcoming creator packs. Seems they made the urban schools to match up with the urban promenades pack and possibly the smaller services fit in to the modern architecture pack.
When are they adding emergency service animations? Like police and firefighters getting out of the vehicles like in cities skylines 1
my cs2 asset Wishlist would include commercial/office/mixed row buildings, smaller fire and police stations that resemble the Ghostbusters HQ, a town hall asset like the tax office from cs1, multiple uses of the unique buildings and smaller variants. shorter/wider med/high density apartment buildings (Boston style, repurposed factories), the ability to change building type of unique buildings (repurposed facade), small municipal airfields that function like large airports, an Obolisk style unique building like the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, MA, marina assets and vehicles, and lighthouses that function as firewatch towers. I need this stuff to improve my Cape Cod map. Otherwise, I'm super happy with this update.
Oh god my heart! I'm literally shivering
I hope these assets eventually drop the kerb they're attached to So cars don't have to bump them to get in.
This might actually make me redownload cities 2 and give it another try
I was amused to see your new CS2 video come out, and see it was obviously recorded before the update, and watch you not fit the old elementary school in a block, knowing the new small school would have fit there
Think i might actually go and start a new city :)
Create a proper Forest Brush, Line Tool and the ability to use the props from the new assets, and I'm at the point where I might buy the game.
For now, I still love playing CS I.
And watching Rannoch every Monday. :)
Big Al says Wow, wow , wow, and i dont even play CS2 yet
Mine allows me to select multiple different trees at the same time? I can even pick and save the variety...is that part of a mod?
Pretty nice update. Just in time for your new city
Still missing the toggle zoning tool for individual roads
Yeah
Yeah
Are the new roundabouts supposed to be a substitute for Cul-de-sac's? Cul-de-sacs are very popular in the US but i don't remember them in Europe. Just curious or if they are going to do proper Cul-de-sac's in a future DLC or free release.
I am not getting the surface tool defaults, but I do have the mod version still annoying though
Printable surfaces. Praise Jesus 😂😂
This might get me back into the game
Very exciting, will be fun to see what they do next!
I got a little "excited" 🥵 when I saw the new public transport buildings...
Great to see the new additions to the game! Much needed and can't wait to see what they have for the future detailers updates!
Zoneable roundabouts yes!
This patch was unnexpected. But it is darn good ! Can't wait to use all this new stuff.
I think if they keep adding assets people would be more inclined to buy dlc. It will extend the life of the game if they can get an asset pack out at least twice a year along with the dlc
This is progress! Paradox you absolute madlad!! But I'm kinda worried about people who find this too nerdy. Like I hate some of the essential mods in CS1 because they made me feel like I am doing assignment for my civil engineering or Urbanisation Planning assignment on Autocad or GIS.
This has me so excited!
Nice one Egg! Look forward to seeing how these are deployed about Egginburgh and No Samui (or whatever it _will_ be called down the line).
🤜🏿🤛🏻
I haven't touched the game since launch, does the performance still crash hard? Or is it getting better lol. I loved CS1, and was a little heartbroken of the state of the game when it came out. Also love your content thank you for all of your work.
Very nice to see and I think as time progresses like CS, it will become the new benchmark for city builder games
I left a comment somehwere else whining about the lack of detail focus in CS2 and that the swing to a more management style of play was not my thing. I now have Egg on my face becuase this new update is really something that I am excited for and negates most of my complaining.
Shame they didn't have smaller parking garages
Not quite there yet but getting close to redemption for CO. Great vid as always Egg
Much Much Better CO , was a great surprise this morning to wake up to the 1.6 Patch... there is Hope 🙂
Wait, they add all these things... FOR FREE?😮
Awesome, so happy theyre makingvthe game better
14:05 And "Make historical building" so chosen buildings don't change its looks and surface isn't removed when you adjust surface to streets
Seeing this bring me hope that cs2 is going to be incredible to play, I hope I'll be able to play on my laptop.
I love this update
now i will download again to play again
Okay I'll be the first one to admit that I'm still a bit salty about how things were handled overall with the game as a whole when it came out. That being said it does seem like they're trying to fix things and make the game not only playable but depending on what they continue to add could eventually make it better than cs1. It just depends on them and what they want to do moving forward. Honestly hope that they realize that the players are the ones that determine the success of the game and not just sales. It would be a nice thing if they got the community involved in what was added in the future. It would go a long way in not only fixing their reputation with the community as a whole but also show that they know the players are the determining factor. The best developers are the ones that realize their player base is what matters and what will keep people coming back
Finally a TREE BRUSH! Oh my goodness! Being from the American Northwest, this is the thing that will make my builds truly feel like home.
Absolutely awesome update, I still desire the Whole Map play!
If they keep cranking stuff like this out, things will be pretty good!
Yaaay! So nice to see such a huge FREE improvement for the community!! I really hope they keep listening to the feedback and bring in the last quality of life features.
from the blind side! love the update! specially after the economy 2.0, and just love the roundabouts being zoneable.
so glad to see that CS2 finally pick up the reins and actually make the game GOOD... soon time to reinstall :D we are getting close now...
wait, i'm not ready for this surprise
Now these are the things will start drawing me back. Smaller assets instead of these massive buildings so you can actually build proper small towns and communities.
Very happy with this update which is unusual for me given all i've been doing is moaning about Skylines II since its botched release. Definately a step in the right direction for me with the new small railway stations which was high on my wishlist, hopefully they will look into doing similar for the other specialised areas (gliders and early-day airfields/aerodromes or barges for shipping) so in the future all city builds will have the ability to specialise on unique themes and be able to naturally evolve them as they expand.
Two thumbs up from me with this update!
👍👍
Will sim use surface area as pathway? I've seen elsewhere that you can modify surface of park areas to extend them and was curious about that
Is theres a way to remove the gantries from the railroad tracks and stations? Is it possible with the extra bulldoze tool?
