I enjoy and appreciate all of your tutorials and tips you share, and I love your sense of humor and personality that comes through in these videos. My experience with cake decorating is minimal, as my interest in learning it is fairly new, although I have been cooking and baking for many years, and I love to paint, which seems to me to be somewhat related. All of this now takes on much more importance, as my son recently got engaged! And he and his bride have told me they would love for me to do the cake! (No pressure, right?) so I am trying out a number of cake recipes and decorating techniques, etc. thankfully they are planning for a long engagement, so I have some time to practice and get everything just right. But one challenge is that the bride is feeling very overwhelmed with all of the decisions, and is such a sweet girl and is more concerned about what her guests will like, as far as cake, than her own preference, which is making the decision very stressful for her. I think we may go with half and half vanilla and chocolate- keep it simple and traditional- and just use the absolute highest quality flavors and ingredients that I can get my hands on. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how very helpful and important these tutorials are proving to be for me!

Yesssssssss I’ve been experimenting with fondant for a little bit and kept getting elephant skin EVERY time! 😩 it was pretty discouraging. For some reason all of the other tutorials I watched did not fully explain the importance of conditioning the fondant beforehand. And while I’d knead it I guess I didn’t condition it to where it needed to be. THANK YOU

Hi from Australia. i have been making my families cakes for over forty years and have always used a piece of PVC pipe. when i started this hobby i was a single parent and could not afford all the tricks of the trade. i still have the original piece of pipe and he (ha ha) works just as well still as he did when i first used him. i was so pleased to hear you suggest this as i feel people can spend a fortune on the bits and pieces and probably not use them again. they either end up as land fill or in a thrift shop - nothing wrong with the latter. i am preparing to make my sister's 70th birthday cake (and this will be the third PURPLE cake i have made her) and found your post as i was checkinig out new methods because it is now probably 3 years since my last effort for someone. i have to say i enjoyed your post and look forward to watching more. thank you

    • @MannoulaElLeithy
      @MannoulaElLeithy 3 года назад

Yes it happens with me as well .. live in a humid weather too .. so I've heard it should be stored in a cardbox into the fridge to avoid sweating after u take it out .. haven't tried that .. I just make it the same day and leave it out But It seems not the best thing to do as in a hot weather.. the buttercream melts underneath the fondant and it gets wrinkly... So ... I'll try the box method ...
But if we get some help here on how to store a previously made fondant cake the right way .. I am allll ears 😄
      Anyone can help?!!

Your video is very informative and inspiring to try this impossible looking fondant cake.
But I have got few queries.
Which type of creams or frosting can be used for layering & frosting on top of the cake for covering the cake with fondant. We are not fond of butter cream. So please do suggest any other frosting.
Also do you soak the layering of the cake in sugar syrup before filling of the cake with cream to retain the moistness. This query too is for the fondant covered cake.

Ma. Geraldine Soriano hi thanks so much! You definitely cannot use cream cheese frosting or whipped cream under the fondant. Both will cause the fondant to melt off the sides of the cake. You can however use them as fillings in your cake and then cover the outside in buttercream

Love your tutorial! This is so helpful! I’m just starting out and not very experienced with using fondant. If I were to complete a fondant covered cake the day before the event, would that result in the fondant drying out? Or do you suggest decorating fondant cakes the day of your event to avoid that? Thanks in advance for your response!

Thanks for your very informative toturial..question after you cover your cake with fondant and finished decorating it do you put it back in the fridge? It will sweat when you put it out right? How will you handle it? I just subscribe on your channel..thank you

Yes I put it back in the fridge and it might sweat when it comes to room temperature but sweating doesn't hurt the fondant

@@deborahhenares4245 what's the problem? That it's looking wet? Eventually, the sweat goes away.

Why do some pple make fondant thick to cover the cakes? Someone once told me because the buttercream do become soft after a while n u will start to see the wrinkles or indents. Is this so? Is thick more prefer to do panel method

Wow such a lovely video. My question is if I put a hole at the middle of the cake after covering it with fondant and allow it to sit out on the counter, will there still be bulging? Thanks please kindly respond 🙏

Because I dread condensation as it happened to me once so I am trying to figure out how not to put the fondant in the fridge

Ooo Im going to try this! Once you have done this do you just leave the fondant covered cake out on the side? Once the cake has been in the fridge and then you can covered the cold cake in fondant does it create a wet, condensed look on the fondant? X

I usually keep my cakes chilled until a few hours before I eat them so that they don't bulge or get soft during delivery. If your fondant sweats then just let it come to room temperature. Sweating does not harm the fondant.
