i love watching these backstage videos! i used to think having a riot backstage during a performance wasn't okay or professional so i've ended up being very quiet during performances, but now that i see the actual professionals go and have a great time backstage too, i now know that it's good to have fun and have conversation during! thank you so much for sharing these, you've truly inspired me to loosen up a little! keep up the fantastic work!!
I said sit in the back but all through the first part of the musical I tried to find her, I knew what she looked like in the wig but I just couldn't! I couldn't figure out which one was her!

Went to two Les Mis performances in a week when I was in London. I really loved the show and your performance was spot on. For someone who has never seen a West End performance before in my life, I was just continuously stunned by the quality of the production. Think I might go down to London some weekend this Autumn just to watch it again.
Haha a Dutch person who's usually late! I feel like that's a rarity. Breaking the mold! Goodness, that sure is a ton of white in the theatre stairwells you walk through. Guess they saved up all the bold colors for the stage...and the lovely ladies' rouge. Or they made the stairs look so simple that you'd never guess they take you from London to Paris :). Unassuming. Yes please do it! I LOVED this video! Les miserables is my favorite musicals of all time and I have seen it 7 times. But I liked being able to look backstage and see what the actors/actresses do to get ready for the show :)
Eponine doesn't come into the show until about half way through Act 1. Until then, she plays characters in the ensemble (background people). To hide her hair so people don't notice that she played characters other than Eponine, she wears a brown wig until she becomes Eponine.

From a fellow curly-haired girl, though not nearly, so much so, curly hair looks huge because it is curly (the curls give it a LOT of volume), but you can relatively easily, at least for me, squish it into something that small.
It's pin curled to her head. Makes it easier and smother. I know from experience. Although carries hair must be easier to pin curl than my v. Straight hair xxx

I never knew you had to switch costumes that often during one show! Also, I never knew being an actress involved walking so many stairs... I always assumed the dressing rooms were right back stage, like, behind the curtain there was just a floor of dressing rooms.

However, I hope she never dyes her hair, because her natural blonde looks gorgeous, and is probably the most difficult hair colour (along with certain shades of red) to get back. (You can get really natural-looking dyed brown hair, but it is usually rather obvious whether blonde hair is bleached or natural.)
I just said black haired to give the impression that any hair colour would suit her, although you're probably right! Also I agree, her hair is gorgeous as it is

I did a lot of local theatre when I was younger and I can safely say that the people I worked with were the most funny, creative and kind people I've ever met. We all worked on the same shows together and it was like a family, lead by our coach who had a hilarious story to tell every time we rehearsed in the ironically named office (a small storage room 20 of us would pile into weekly to laugh and sing les mis while wearing cowboy hats). I'm sorry that I didn't get to carry on theatre, make the most of it. It's truly the best time I ever had
So, I'm so freaking happy you've done this. I miss being on stages so much, but even more I miss the fun to be had backstage. Watching this has given me a kind of heartsickness and extreme joy only known from being in shows. Please keep doing these, Carrie. :)
As I live in the US I probably won't be seeing you in Les Mis anytime soon but I love seeing glimpses of what you do and all your different costume changes! It really makes me appreciate how hard actors work! xx

I think she plays extras like the "lovely ladies", and the working ladies for the "At The End Of The Day".
She wears the wig when she's on as a background character (lovely ladies, factory worker, etc.) and has the wig off when she's playing Eponine.

Some theatres do have dressing rooms at stage level (Lighthouse in Poole) but most you do use lots of stairs!
