I just had the same problem..... I was about to start changing my whole strut assembly that I recently put in as well. Glad I looked here first. Thanks.
i had the same noise coming out of my jeep and was about to change the wheel bearing on it because every single video pointed at the bad wheel bearing. all thanks you and all the comments on this video that saved my life and money.
You solved my problem! I was all depressed and in a funk thinking that I needed suspension work done or something, but YES I literally just had some loose lug nuts! Thanks so much for posting this! some of the weight that was on my shoulders has been taken off.
its always a good thing to check your lugs every month. if you have a harbor freight nearby, pick up a 1/2 in. click type torque wrench and the proper sized socket for your wheels lugs. check them once a month and never worry again.
Thanks! I called the mechanic and he said it was probably dirt and it should remove itself in a few days. I watched this video and the lugnuts were so loose, tighened and no noise..thanks again.
Thank you for your insight. It turns out my clicking noise (while going straight) on my Pontiac G6 was due to LOOSE LUG NUTS!!! This saved me lots of $$$. When I read this I went out & check my lug nuts & to my surprise I had 2 that were loose! No more clicking sound after tightened.
Thank You for posting this video and Thank you guys for posting your comments! I thought i had a bad wheel bearing. After reading your comments i went to check my lug nuts, but i found out my problem was the hub cap that covers the lug nuts on my custom rims was loose. I tightened it and i was good to go! Such an easy fix lol
great video. I am getting this on my car after i had a flat that I repaired. I did loosen the lug nuts on it(i didn't even end up changing the tire, though) it's possible that they need tightening. UPDATE: yep, it was loose lug nuts. Depression decreased.
This is an excellent video. It’s good to first read the note the video maker, Dan, left under the video title (click the down “v” arrow to the right of the title), then, read all of the reviews. It gives you ideas to check or investigate if you’re having similar issues like I am. Thanks Dan.
This is a similar sound coming from my truck, but it’s loud. I checked behind the wheel at the ball joins (I’m not that knowledgeable when it comes to cars but I try). Just that the sound from my truck is more rhythmic, as if you put something in your bicycle spokes and drove slowly. A friend of mine who is fairly knowledgeable on automobiles said it may be loose lugs, so I’ll have o check it out and hope it isn’t something too serious. Whatever it is, the sound is driving me nuts.
You just saved my life my gfs car is doing the Samething and as soon as I saw your comment I looked and shes missing a lugnut Im headed to autozone I hope it works
I have the same problem with my Astra G. I put wheel studs (bolts) in the hub so I could put 15" rims on it, since then it's been making that tick tick noise only on the front right wheel. I changed the CV joint, it wasn't the problem. :/ Turns out that the Astra G was not made to have protruding wheel studs, but to have "male" lug nuts which pass through the rim and tighten down into the "female" wheel hub holes. :(
I have the same or similar sound with my Nissan altima. On the front passenger side it goes from a loud clunking or knocking sound, then on acceleration it sound's like a deck of cards. I'm taking it to the dealership to have it inspected.
Did you every find out what the noise was coming from, I have a nissan rogue and I have the same rattling when they changed one tire, That was not happening before they changed the tire after they changed it the noise started
Too loose, or tightened, lug nut(s) and extremely dangerous- had my front tires replaced, sound then shimmying then tire rim snapped off; thank God I was not on a highway!!
I recently got new tires and shortly after I got the same noise from my front tire. I kept looking for a rock stuck in the tread or a screw. I hope this is the problem
1bigBadw0lf I just got new tires and now I’m hearing the same thing from the front right side especially when when I turn the wheel left, I thought I had a rock or something stuck in the tire treads but there’s nothing on the tires. Is it the axle????
I just had my hub bearings and cv axels changed rear on 2004 Ford Explorer and mines is making a loud clicking noise. Could someone tell me what’s going on?
Was the noise only from one side it was all around cause I'm getting the same noise but it travels around my car a lot especially when i start accelerating
I had this problem today. The same sound by more rhythmic and faster but then it sounded like something fell off and my tire was flat? Is that also a lug nut, cv joint or something else entirely?
that MIGHT be related, but you might also want to check your tread for a nail or road debris. that is more likely that you had something stuck in your tire causing it to deflate
Daniel Malkin thanks you just save me some bucks,I replace the hub caps on my car and after about a week I was getting the clicking sound.Check the wheel lug nuts and tighten them up and boom no more clicking sound lol
Because the wheel is loose from the lug nuts not being tight so the wheel flexes some from the weight of the vehicle and the centrifical forces of the wheel and weight of the car when turning ! All newer cars and trucks the lug nuts should be torqued to the proper torque value so as not to warp the rotors as well because the rotors are made much thinner now compared to the older cars and trucks of years past ! The other thing is if your car or truck has Aluminum alloy wheels your supposed to have all the lug nuts re torqued again after 50 miles so they won't come loose after the first initial torque coming out of the shop ! Good shops will tell you this and good shops will use what they call torque sticks to speed the process of initial torque of the lug nuts then use a torque wrench set at the factory desired torque spec for the final torque of the lug nuts so as not to over tighten the lug nuts which can gall the lug threads strip the lug nut stretch the lug stud or warp the rotors so if you go to have your tires done at a shop make sure to ask if they use torque sticks or not because some do some don't ! Some places just use the torque wrench to tighten the lugs first instead of the torque sticks because they aren't cheap in price when buying from Snap - on or other expensive tool companies but in a shop that has many customers and it's super busy torque sticks are the way to go because they speed up the initial process of torquing the lug nuts on using the impact over just using the ratcheting motion of the torque wrench it self to screw down the lug nuts or some guys lower the air power on the impact gun they are using to put the lug nuts on at a lower foot pounds of torque then use the torque wrench after for the final torque specifications but it's always better to use the torque sticks in the first place so there is no way to over tighten the lug nuts unless the mechanic makes a mistake and sets the torque setting too high on the torque wrench ! Hope this helps you understand what you asked in your question as I was a mechanic for 30 years !
04 town car it click when im going between 30 and 50 but never when I turn... when I hit my breaks sum times I can hear the pad hitting the rotor...and solutions?
On my 2013 honda civic too, driver side wheel. I already tightened the lug nuts, there still clicking sound when accelerating, reverse and slowing down.
just changed my wheels on my car and now when I do 80mph the back wheels start to howl.when I reach 90mph it gets quieter, could someone please tell me if they need to be balanced
What did you use to film this? I'm hearing a few noises when I drive my car and no one heard them when they ride, I need to video my rides so I can show proof.
Im having the same issue Shooter McGavin. I changed the brake pads and rotors and the lug nuts are definitely not the problem. Has to be cv axles. Im replacing them this weekend. I wish it were an easier cheaper fix.
How did you tighten them after you found the problem? I just got my brakes checked and I think this is what happened to my car. It clicks intermittently - hear it when I I'm going slower like 30 mph.

+armando torres yeah there is a bit of wind noise, and that garbage truck didnt help much... i could hear it pretty well at around 3:55. it turned out to be a lug nut that wasnt torqued down properly.

I'd say lug nut(s). Happened on my 2006 Atenza. Was only one nut (out of the 5) that needed to be replaced (inside nut thread was toast)
Did it work bro I've got an atenza that makes a low clicking noises but only happens now and than

It worked! It ended up being loose lug nuts... I'm surprised I wasn't involved in any accidents... I tightened them up and the sound is gone
You just saved my life my gfs car is doing the Samething and as soon as I saw your comment I looked and shes missing a lugnut Im headed to autozone I hope it works

I hear a flop, flop sound coming from my rear back tire. Sounds like something on the tire that gives it that flop sound. What could it be?
Great video capture of the sound

What did they say
Did you every find out what the noise was coming from, I have a nissan rogue and I have the same rattling when they changed one tire, That was not happening before they changed the tire after they changed it the noise started
A loud clunking noise is a ball joint
Hey I'm having the same problem and deck of cards caught my eye I have a Infiniti m35x did the dealership ever find the problem?
Sounds like you need a car wash
😂😂😂
I had a similar noise in my truck, turned out to be a loose hub nut. oh well it happens lol

Oh, and tire flew off causing major damage to the front passenger side, bumper, door couldn't open or close.
Mine was a loose hub cap that covers my lug nuts! Felt so dumb lol i had to laugh, here i was thinking i was going to take it to a mechanic 😂

A bent brake caliber cover?, happened to mine while changing a tire

Maximiano Poblette check your lug luts. they might not be torqued down.

They said it was loose lug nuts on the tire/hubcap
@@DazedAndAmazed22 mime was the driveshaft 60 bucks on ebay.

im ashamed to say, but it was indeed a loose lug nut. costco likes to air drill the wheels back on... not always do they torque them to spec.

mine was just a big nail stuck in tyre.. CHECK TYRES
may be a bad CV axle
Cv axel also clicks when turning, but it didn't in this video
