there is 12v plug in the back of the jeep, you should connect power there instead of running it to front, just hint
That is an option, my only caution to taping into a 12v outlet is you are now putting an additional load on a circuit that is not designed for it

Thanks for the video! The kit I’m looking at is just a T connector that splices into each tail light (similar to yours, but without the wiring up to the battery). Curious why yours is different and if there a benefit to running power up to the battery?
Thank you. The power wire to the battery feeds the module manages the signaling from the trailer wiring input, makes sure there is no interference with the led lights which my jeep has, hope that helps
I own a 2023 high altitude 4xe with led lights, same set up? Also what about disconnecting the battery, anything different seing it has a huge batt. Under the rear seat. I have the hitch installed, just the wiring left. Thx for videos very helpful.
Hello, same process, just make sure to match the product to your jeep model otherwise install is the same, no need to disconnect the battery it is a plug and play system. Good luck and thanks for checking out the channel, I appreciate it
Can you ground the wire without drilling a hole? Could you ground to the bolts from the door striker?
Yes, you can ground the wire to any existing bolt or stud, you just have to make sure that the terminal ring is got good contact with unpainted metal of some form to ensure a good ground!
Is it ok to land it on one of the aux battery terminals?great video btw.

I suspect that module is because of the stupid ass stuff that Jeep (and other car manufacturers) do with the CANBUS these days. If you just splice into the wires like we USED to be able to do, the vehicle's computer will detect it and possibly cause things to not work correctly or an error gets generated. Damn kiddie engineers over-complicating what SHOULD be a simple task. You shouldn't need a computer to tell you that your light is out, you should notice it when you periodically check your vehicle before driving it.
The cars today are certainly not like they used to be, too many sensors and warning lights these days for sure
