Twilight suffers from PTSD from War which probably makes him "i can't quit this job, i have world to save". Meanwhile the Yor is opposite, she actually starts to feel danger, feel the facts she's not immortal during battle and what will happen to Anya or Loid if she dies...
WISE knows one day the war between east and west will subside. To which they are trying to, albeit slowly, ween Twilight away from his work by giving him a less and less intense assignments. The practice is also commonly used for workaholics, as stopping cold Turkey would leave them with nothing to do potentially cause more anxiety (and because most jobs can’t replace their best worker overnight). And as PTSD is a for life thing, especially with war, they will keep him on as an informant, or the lowest level of work possible, to satisfy that urge. And we could even say after the war, he might make for go trainer.
Great video! Honestly, Twilight seems to suffer from anxiety and tunnel vision due to living his entire life as a spy and I remembered in season 1, it’s pointed out that he’s overworked. Despite his noble goal in achieving world peace and to protect children, I think the type of life he’s living is taking a toll on him, both physically and mentally. Hell, the poor guy doesn’t even take care of himself or could afford to. I still remember the time he freaked out over Anya sleeping next to him and how he felt relieved by the milk Yor puts in his coffee. Even if there’s a retirement plan, going by his difficulty in trying to relax in Season 2, even that proves to be difficult for him. My guy is selfless to the world but not himself.
Honestly I hope this isn't the case, because I think it would be much more narratively significant if, at the end of Operation Strix, Twilight has to fight WISE to let him keep his family. It doesn't have to be an ACTUAL fight, but I imagine it starting out with him trying to make the case for extending Operation Strix, only for that to fall flat, and then for him to list every act of service he did without asking for anything in return. He'll finally demand something selfish: he DESERVES to settle with the wife and daughter he loves. If WISE presents Twilight with that option, the resolution would be too easy. If Twilight forces them to MAKE it an option, that would be way more narratively satisfying. There's also the fact that he has trained Nightfall, so he can make the case for her as his successor, or it could be an opportunity for Anya to offer up her ability to read minds to WISE in exchange for Twilight being allowed to retire and continue to be her father. Yor might also reveal her own skills and offer those as well. When we get to the conclusion of this tale, I want to see the Forgers fight to stay together, and having "the true plan all along" be that WISE was trying to make Twilight retire removes so much potential from the story.
Bro with this quality content and your approach on that tooic this is one if the best video on sohxfamily why are you so underrated like i thought u have atleast a millian subs just keep the grind and your channel will grow
I don't think he will retire so much as this operation is obviously something he can't do in a short timespan. It will take years to do correctly. Best he can hope for is to form contacts that would allow him to keep tabs on his target. And there is no way he can keep his cover and do the same kind of work load of missions he is used to. So my feeling is his real mission is to set up a network he can use as the local chief of the cell. But given how much of a workaholic Liod is he may refuse to take on a position that takes him out of the field. So the mission is to get him to form attachements as well so he can be safely brought into management without complaint. And to set this up he needs a long term mission where he can't just drop everything when it might be inconvenient for his cover.
So solid theory but I gots a different one what if they planning to have the forgers team join the wise and or do intelligence gather while nightfall and eventually Yuri after nightfall seduced him u know her future assignment that hasn't happened yet and bring along to do what they used to do plus I thinking that wise perhaps has mistakes demond as one pulling the strings when actually Melinda who is running the ship
So if someone posting a theory similar and exactly like mine u got my back that i came up with 1st or at least that mine and didnt steal from someone else?
Now that i think of it loids boss lost her daughter (the scene when they was about to take bond but anya refuses) . I think she would want for liod to abandon anya when the operation is finished
Season 2 focusing on Yor and her questioning still being an assassin could be foreshadowing to both Yor and Twilight’s eventual retirement.

I believe if you have original and good theory, the public will defend you if someone tried to copy your theory.
But I thought that was there as a gag
What was there as a gag?
