Wow!, the alpine and particularly the solara must be very rare indeed, given that they rusted so quickly, there are hardly any left. My dad had a new alpine in 1977 and after just two years a one inch square patch of rust appeared on part of one of the door sills.
The Mk2 Cavalier Convertible never came with that body kit. As you say, it came from the Cavalier Calibre, which was a limited edition based on the Cavalier SRi 130 saloon, and only available in red. Convertibles were only 1.8i, based on the SRi Escort Mk4 diesels were always 1.6 not 1.8 too. Otherwise, fascinating video.
All that escort had as an L spec was tinted glass and a sunroof. If it had been a 1.8d gl it would have had electric windows and mirrors. The gl was the highest spec for a diesel version.
Please review the FSO Polonez. I am Polish and I hate this car. "Caro" means the biggest outside modifications including totally different front and rear comparing to original versions from 1978,
I love these vids mate. I first learned to drive in the 90s so love to see the old cars in good nick.
I remember all those cars on the road the first time around.
Now showing my age 😂
It's worth it for the memories though. Sometimes I wish I was younger but I wouldn't give up all the great memories I have.
The weather is PERFECT for it!

Might be some reviews coming up 😉

Is your pronunciation of “Allegro” correct or have I been pronouncing it wrong all these years? 🤔
Was a great meet in spite of the weather, the allegro estate was definitely the highlight, with the alpine/solara coming joint second
Stay tuned for some talbot content 👍🏻
Could be 75hp or 90hp the audi 80 tdi. Had to be direct injection and have a intercooler if its 90hp.
