I know he turned out decent, but just the style of Coulson casually in forming him that Fury’s still alive and brushing him off to speak to Hill, it’s such a nice subtle way of sending the message, “Whatever you might think, we are still in charge.” Edit: I also love the look on Hill’s face when Coulson mentions Gonzalez puts everything to a vote. She’s not wrong though, SHIELD is a paramilitary organization, putting everything to a vote is an incredibly stupid and inefficient way to run such an organization.

Dr. List, a Hydra scientist whom was talking to baron von strucker in the opening screnes of Age of Ultron was a returning character for a few episodes, Gideon Malick whom nick fury told had a “stupid ass decision” in the Avengers was the main antagonist of season 3. The directors were really good at tying it all together

Stumbled upon this. Forgot how integrated some of the earlier seasons were before the TV franchise was completely spun off. Seeing Colbie Smothers reminded me of all the things that happened earlier on. Like Lady Sith for one episode. That all went away when Fiege decided to keep the two separate and soon all there would be is spoken references in what was going on in the movies. The showrunners did say it made things much easier for them when they did keep things separate, including the story telling.
I think it was Marvel tv division boss at that time, he didn't like to cross with the movie division of Feige, that kept every show separated and triggered Feige taking over tv division later on, that change is starting to reflect just recently with marvel studios and the production of tv shows for disney+

Love this scene but it points out the problem with big budget sci-fi movies that threaten mass destruction. Ultron and his 'bots' didn't attack a large number of cities. Same with DC. Usually only one city and it's usually NYC.
First Avengers the attack was starting in NYC as that is where the portal was, the idea was to spread out from there. Ultron had a rather ingenious plan of actually turning a city into an asteroid that would decimate life everywhere. Only one city needed. He wasn't trying to conquer, he was exterminating.

I think season 2 is underrated, it has a good plot despite not having threatening villains. Season 5 was the main ending of the show, season 6 and 7 were just added for longer production but don't come close to any the seasons 2-5 (especially due to the fewer episodes which makes it more difficult to build a successful and competent storyline)
