Very nice! I'm always interested in learning How Things Work! This was a classic in that genre. Love ya' Ian, and utmost respect and love to the long-suffering Mrs. Matthews!
Love yr work it expired me to pull things a part for copper & brass as you say ever little bit helps Love yr videos always makes me smile keep up the great work 😎🇦🇺
I do the same thing grab something hot shortly after grinding it. Call myself stupid. Lol thanks for the laugh great video have a great day. From across the pond. Central New York.
You are one tidy, methodical scrapper. I’m learning so much. I now have bins for brass, copper, aluminium and stainless and remarkably they are filling fast. Before it all went to the tip. Not anymore. 👏👏👍😀
I like that big vice you said it was some one vice if come across another one like that I would have it please. My vice broken I need another one. Kind regards buddy.
I've come across lots of them door locking mechanisms.them metal faces and the teeth you could make something out if them for Halloween 🎃, I've got bin bags full of 3 core cable to strip and 2 core ,I've stripped armoured cable where it looks very dark ,go as heavy copper that ian, now that's something I never see especially on a Sunday morning and raining ian Matthews walking 🚶♂️ and pulling a gas barque back to his shed 🤣🤣🤣.I hope the prices go up on non ferrous, they was very high months ago .thanks for sharing ian and a joy to watch 👍
Fast turn around on the scrap Ian ! Finally getting the upper hand on the scrap that was beginning to overtake my shop, made a couple of trips to the scrap yard on the way to work so far this week.
Interesting door latch system. I'm sure they must be available here in the states, but I've never seen one, over here it's a doorknob lock and a dead bolt lock , two separate locks. Great stuff as usual, cheers!
I did have to rewind to re-watch the "It's still warm" bit. Sorry. On the mirror the photo cell is probably an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor). The driver unit has L for Live and N for Neutral on it. Would some kind of wire stripper help? Perhaps one with a driven wheel to pull cable through?
I'm here to learn about tek in things to bits without hurting meself... I've only got 5 ommers so I'm not in your league 🙂👍👍🇮🇪, Do enjoy the banter, I talk to meself in the shed when playing. I'm getting rid of crap that's been in there for nearly 20years, where does time go 🙈
Ian, I have been scrapping and stripping wire for a few years now and just now I am on a copper storage run….I am trying to get as much bright wire etc build up b4 cashing it in. One question for you buddy, what do yo do with your outer cable plastic waste. Regards George
Love to see you scrapping out your finds. Looks like it's almost becoming a full time job! What you going to do when you go back to work? Didn't you make a wire stripper before? If you're making another one, I'd like to see how you make it. Take care, Poo
Do you know how bloody annoying it is when you consult a customer on a bathroom refurb and you ask 'em... "do you want a shaver socket or a mirrored bathroom light going in?" and they say no, or stare at you blankly with their gobs wide open. Just as you polish off the grout residue and tidy up they wander a cross with... loo roll holder, towel ring, toothbrush holder, shelf, cabinet, ad infinitum. This usually happens on a Friday or Saturday night around 6pm. Then they produce a mirror.... with a bloody light in. How do you identify an appropriate electrical circuit, isolate, junction and then run a switched fused cable in a wall, which is solid block/brick, plastered and completely covered in tiles?
The most exercise you have had! Lol. In theory you should pull; your pushing force will resolve into a horizontal force and a vertical push downward increasing the friction at the axle. A similar pull force will get you an upward force reducing the friction. I always try to pull a wheelbarrow unfortunately it often falls over. LOL.
Ian quick question when I strip wire dose it all go are bear bright please help as I'm not shore .I'm stripping extension leads , kettle leads and 1.5 .2.5 cables thanks
Ron, best bet is to ask your yard, mine as long as it’s bright n shiny no matter the thickness take it as Bare bright, some yards insist it needs to be as thick as a pencil, to be classed as bare bright. But all those you mention I consider as bare bright when stripped.
"Too much current going thru it" Judging by the thickness, I'd hazard a guess that it's 6mm T&E. Probably a 8.5Kw shower or a single oven that has had a 10.5Kw shower or a double oven + hob bunged on at a later date,

Well Thankyou Steve, I’m aware this was a long one, but if a tale is to be told it must be told in full,
I do the same thing grab something hot shortly after grinding it. Call myself stupid. Lol thanks for the laugh great video have a great day. From across the pond. Central New York.
We love watching Ian. Thanks for making your videos.

Andrew it surprisingly does build up fast, remember every little helps. I only compact my scrap due to a self imposed space limitation
Great finds, great video.
I like that big vice you said it was some one vice if come across another one like that I would have it please.
My vice broken I need another one.
Kind regards buddy.
Well Someday if you ever make it up here, you can have one of the several I have
Love these long vids mate 🤘👍👍👍
Good to hear

Another great video thanks ian
Yes Ian, an ignition coil for a C90 Honda. Check ebay, they do sell 👍
If you put a leash on the BBQ er it might have been less conspicuous 🤣 That shelve thingy what a pain but fun as well 🔨
LIKE the copper sausage great idea;
They probably think you stole someone's BBQ 🤣 🤣

I’ll make one sometime
@@Man-in-da-shed I was thinking of something with a gripping wheel and changeable blades settable in differing ways.

Wrong place for that, I cut myself once fluffing a pillow up, I’ve even cut myself washing my hands. 20 years then you scrap it…… I know the pain.
3AM... Well I'm 12th. Off to work.
interesting door hardware. never seen that around here. cheers
the old bike frame is a Honda C90, ( says on the badge plate ) and that is the ignition coil.
Hi Ian am enjoying the videos that speaker wire that you stripped would that go in as bright copper
Where I go yes, but yards have different rules, some say it needs to be a certain thickness

Here in the Uk we have plastic recycling Bins, or the local tip has a plastics recycle skip.

That black thing off the motorcycle is called a coil pack.
Most people take a dog for a walk, you'd get less funny looks. ;)
