  • The BSD is great fun indoors. It likes to do back-flips.

    Another great plane and entertaining video, thanks for all the plan & dimensions, The prop looked smaller in flight but the slow and gentle movement hides the size of this big boy.

    nice flight, really stable plane... it's amazing that you just cut the throttle and it goes back to normal horisontal flight

    Rob, The depth of the center fin (skid on the bottom?) at the rear is 3.25 inches, or 82mm. Not sure of the other measurement you want. From elevon tip inboard to smallest fin (skid) is 7 inches, or 178mm. Let me know if that's not what you needed.

    Excellent video .. yes Dr.sr71afan .. I got the all the measurement at the end of this video from 4.58 to 5.55 video buffering. Thanks a lot sir.But the battery rest on this video in at the end of the nose on plane. And the last Battery between nose and prof. After where the battery install?

    • @sr71afan
      @sr71afan  4 года назад

      I move the battery to experiment and sometimes have camera on nose. Place battery to balance model near the propeller.

      @@sr71afan sir can i use the 45 mm EPP foam Block for this? OR which suitable , Xps foam ? Depron ? FT sheets ?

    • @sr71afan
      @sr71afan  4 года назад +1

      @@raj261166 45mm is probably too thick, unless the model is huge. Depron (6mm) and FT sheets work great!

    Hi Gary, love your work mate. Curious to know what glue you use on depron? Cheers, Ross.

    • @sr71afan
      @sr71afan  10 лет назад +2

      Hi Ross, Mostly low-temp hot glue, and sometimes foam-safe CA
      , but it's quite expensive.

    Hello Gary. I would love to get two measurements from you... the depth of the center fin at the rear and the distance from the left or right edge of the elevons inboard to the smallest fin (or does that smallest fin just "split" the elevons?). Thanks!

    what kind of foam board and where did you get it from (apprx cost)?
    awesome video

    • @sr71afan
      @sr71afan  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks Coach! This one is made with Bluecor extruded insulation foam. It is 1/4 inch thick and has a plastic film on both sides which makes it very rigid. It was US $45 per bundle of 25 sheets measuring 2 X 4 feet each. They are fanfolded together. I got it a Lowes home improvement store, but unfortunately, it was discontinued. A new one-sided version called Protection Board III is usable, but not quite as stiff. It is also becoming hard to find.

      sr71afan . My kids and baseball team loves this video. Would you mind email any details and pics of the build to psjtom@gmail.com? Do you still have a working model?
      I found this at lowes.. Pactiv Extruded Polystyrene Foam Board Insulation (Common: .25-in x 4-ft x 50-ft; Actual: .25-in x 4-ft x 50-ft) $45.98 at

    Hi Gary, I have some doubts regarding the dihedral being 7/8 inches and skid lengths DECREASING outwards from the root chord (middle portion) of the plane. Would this not give the plane a downward dihedral?
    I would be very grateful if you could mail me any details you have, especially where the holes of on the skids should be done and of what dimensions. My mail is vijay Dot sputniknews AT The Rate Of gmail.
    Thanks for sharing the video. Such videos are truely inspiring!
