The DVLA should lower it's VED band to reflect it's temporary emissions. But they won't, because it's all about money. They also will quite happily let my Rover sit on the road til the tax runs out in May even though it's MOT ran out last month. Until the rules and banding reflects the real world I support people breaking them.

The tax you pay is an emissions based tax, if it's just sitting on the road why would it need to be taxed. Don't play their game..
