You obviously don't know how this works. They use resort fees so they can keep rates down resulting in paying less commissions to third party booking agencies. If resort fees are removed, they will just up the room rate and take other measures to make up for the lost revenue. If you look at the how these casino corporations are doing revenue wise from brick and mortar operations, they aren't doing that well. Online gaming is a big revenue maker for them now.

As a former Hotel Manager at the actual largest gaming company in Vegas , please don’t try to tip the FD agent to remove your resort fee. This is considered a bribe and will get them fired. Additionally just asking to remove it because you don’t feel like paying for it can put their job at risk since they would need to comp it to remove it.
A better way to remove a resort fee is to call the FD and let them know of any (real) issues with your room. If you’re pleasant, 9/10 times, they will be happy to remove it for you.

They told me and i said to them "that's perfect, I used none of that so please remove the fee for something I didn't request or require." I was told it was automatic. I told them that it's fraudulent to charge for services that were not used and could be considered theft, especially since it wasn't on the original bill when booked. He told me in the fine print it said "subject to other fees and taxes". When I said that I will not be staying here any longer or gambling in any of Ceasars properties any longer he caved and cancelled the resort fees. It worked for 2 years until last year when I was told "go ahead and leave". So I haven't been back since.

I was married in LV in 1967, it was a tasteful and nice wedding and we had a blast, my first experience in LV. Over the years we always looked forward to going but not anymore. I wouldnt go if I got a free offer. At my last visit, 5 years ago, slots were tight at Caesars and their so called deluxe room was barren, you could see where there used to be a table and chairs, alas, no more. A drink was $16 at a bar where I was playing. We had a good time in spite of them but it was so over. Now, we go to Palm Springs, a short drive, a beautiful room, for free during the week, which is fine with us. Yes, you will pay for drinks but so what? We have a good time with the outdoor space, pool and spa and good dining as well. The problem is young people have no idea how Vegas used to be, back in the mob days, it was so much better.

Then deplane go to baggage claim, shuttle to the rent a car place then drive to the hotel, stand in line to check in and collapse in the room. I worked at another strip resort years before and was just saddened that I only had computers AI and one disgruntled phone handler when I asked for help T fix the fridge. Housekeeping was nice to see and I enjoyed dealing with them when I saw them. And the man who came up for the fridge was great and very busy but also prompt and considerate. Appreciate all your hard work Jacob on this issue (the notorious RESORT FEE) and your other episodes too.
It's disgusting that someone has to try to find a "work around" to avoid this MONEY GRAB.
Personally, I'm not a tourist in Vegas. I just fly in, bet, and leave. Not an option or a choice for a lot of people, I know.
What's also egregious greed are the prices for food & drink, plus the restrictions to keep you eating in the casino.
One of the notorious ones is Westgate. They don't allow outside delivery, and it is off the beaten path. I once ordered a pizza from Joe's Pizza, and had to walk what I estimate about 200 yards plus across the street to a bit of a sketchy gas station/convenience store just to get it in 100 plus weather. I had to make a stand, but there was a price!

Glad you put that segment in at the end ! That's what I do is stay off strip or downtown and avoid the resort fee or pay a much smaller resort fee. It's also a much better gambling experience away from the strip as the games have way better odds on tables and higher payback on slots off strip. My last 3 visits to town, I just didn't go to the strip at all, they have priced me out!
To each their own, but all the leverage buy outs and destruction of classic properties for newer billion dollar properties on the strip have ruined it for old timers that have been going to Vegas for several decades!
