HECZ is very upset with this because he sees what is coming and COD and Activision dont care. 25 million entry per team which means they initially generated 300 Million Dollars and the league is gonna fail. Activision is pathetic...
Get educated the buy in for the league was 25 mill none and I mean none of the teams have even come close to paying that amount yet they were all on payment plans however should the cdl collapse like overwatch league they will most likely get the money back and or not be needed to pay the full price
Seems like it was all a money grab, these business guys probably saw “esports” as “always going to fail” and wanted to snag a few million off the top of those shit buy-in contracts while turning their heads when asked to make proper decisions.
As a former World of Warcraft player who started playing wow before Activision took over. I think CoD is starting to see the same thing. It’s kinda sad. Activision is honestly a plague in the gaming community. They destroy everything they get their hands on.
I first played a GB with my friend in 2010 on mw2 when I was 12 years old. Some of my favorite times. Sad too see it go. Wish it could've been implemented more
When not having money to go to events GB saved me so many times . Online tournaments or just Matches against pros, semi pros, and GB warriors gave you that dopamine you needed to keep the community growing to where it is today. Plus going to school the next day saying I matched against Proof & Mboze 1v1 vs Phizz( 🙏🏼) win or lose was so satisfying.
I started with GB , Halo , COD , climbing the leaderboards. Hate what these devs are doing to these games, or stock holders. I quit because I didn’t want to be like a person who kept going back to an abuser. Great memories.
GB was such a good way for beginners/casuals to get into competitive call of duty. It was a good gateway into the scene. Now they’ll have to watch a match and have it catch their attention.
In regards to the level cap, I'm sure there's data that suggests it keeps the community more active throughout the year rather than people rushing to get max prestige and then not touching the game for a while resulting in loss of store sales. They do a similar thing in FIFA where they cap the amount of XP you get on a weekly basis so you don't progress through the season pass too fast.
I don’t think people are paying attention enough to what HECZ is saying man. He has learned through this process and understands that corporate sharks are exactly that. The disrespect should not be tolerated.
I miss old cod, smaller maps better maps for comp, every weekend was 2ks more lan events, umg mlg and gfinity hosting all these events. More competitive cod to watch 😢
CoD has to take notes from the Melee community man. Through any and ALL adversity, that game still stands. That game will never die. Because that community won’t die. They still have majors across the globe and it’s beautiful.
I had to hop on my GB account one last time. Started in 2008 with my friend from baseball playing duos on CoD4 and WaW. Met a bunch of people along the way on GB that I still talk to today. So sad to see it get shut down.
Whats insane is that if this shit is such a struggle for activision they could just license it to another org and do absolutely nothing except collect a check
Gg the reason I stuck around this long in gaming since 2008.15 years of memories but learning that gb is done I'm done. Just learned today that I'm gonna be a dad 3 hours after I heard about gamebattles. Thats the weirdest way of the world saying its time to move on. It's been fun boys highest gb rank achieved 743 love y'all stay safe ya freaks
I get why they took away open bracket. Imagine the owner of the Cavs seeing his team get ripped apart by an open bracket team 😅 him and investors would be furious, but it needs to come back. Watching Ambush beat pro teams like Str8 and TD in open bracket and watching them become pros was amazing. That's what grew this $#i+. Imagine keeping a young scump in challengers all because of a franchise/ friendship league. Sigh
Some scientists have talked about this before and I believe it’s all over google now but, they said if Yellowstone’s super volcano erupts it would instantly kill like 100,000 people and spread molten ash as far as a 1,000 miles in every direction from the park! So to be fair Seth is slightly right when he said they’d be fine in Dallas since it’s probably like 1,500 from Dallas to Yellowstone, it’s possible Dallas would be fine but also possible it would be destroyed! Also on this topic the most likely one to erupt is the one in Italy because it’s crust is about 15% thinner than it was a decade ago and that if it erupts it could cause tsunami’s up to 100+ ft tall waves that could cause 10s of millions of deaths world wide
I think the ash blocking out the sun is how Yellowstone would kill us. There would be so much ash in the atmosphere that the entire planet would go dark, causing another ice age and killing off all the plants, depleting our oxygen.
As someone who wants to be a future competitor, I dont know how to proceed now, maybe thats what COD wants, maybe they dont want competitors or influencers, maybe they just want people to buy the game once a year and thats it, nothing more, nothing less
imo the reason for them not adding prestige is because they know people will rush to max prestige and have no reason to play anymore, so they make it to where you get to level 1000 and it resets every season so you always have something to grind for. In short they want you playing for as long as possible and have a reason to come back every season.
As soon as they killed the open circuit was the day it died. Thousands of teams would show up to these events in hopes for a Cinderella story. Thats what made it special, anyone had a shot!
We should protest the CDL, protest every Activision sanctioned event, we must use our collective power as a people.. Unfortunately Hecz I am asking the world from you and I respect your decision if you decide not to
If the CDL was gone tomorrow it wouldn't affect Activision one bit. They don't care about but won't let anyone else run it? Devs don't need eSports to do well, they will make their money regardless.
Bro I’m almost every Optic match when they were losing , 80% of the chat would always dog and trash aPG and demand he gets dropped and needs to get dropped. And now that he finally got dropped (needed to happen in my opinion), now all the sudden people wanna cry and act sad that he’s finally gone. I can’t stand the halo and CoD community fan base man.
@@b3to653 and they would be in their rights to do so but I think those two would have a really good chance to start something new which wasn’t owned by Activision.
One of my best cod memories is playing against optic in a game battles match. It was during the road to 100-0 series in black ops 2. Scump, nade, merk, and bigT
Hardpoint on these remastered maps seem to have similar spawns to the ones you would get playing hq back in the day. Should go watch some old comp sniping matches to learn the spawns again.
You should talk about SBMM and the movement in the game with the old maps. Do you guys think SBMM should stay or go away for public matches? Do you guys think the spawns are really bad still if you think the movement would be slowed down like old cod or that wont change anything?
GameBattles is a victim of the neglected AM/Challenger scene many stopped playing cause CDL gives zero fucks about amateur players. Sadly franchising killed the AM scene
Dang man, been around since the beginning, played both in sniping and competitive teams, its sad to see that this side of COD might not be there in the near future. I feel there has to be somebody or some group out there that has the power and abilty to continue the competitive COD scene.
To me this game feels like a last ditch effort to grab on nostalgia, vanguard was split between two studios and felt more put together than mw2s dlc does and that all this was, a dlc not ready for launch. (edit: also the reason there is no prestige system is because of the live service battle pass standard to keep players playing longer)
End goal is to weed out the tryhards. Tryhards prevent new casuals from coming in and spending money on their games. Every decision they’ve made about cod for years has been about getting as many casuals as possible playing. The vets will bitch and moan but will ultimately still play the game so they don’t give af
Formal lost a lot of weight. Happy to see him doing well.
Bro if he gets back to Skinny Mathias, he’s winning CoD Champs and Halo Worlds in the same year.

Get educated the buy in for the league was 25 mill none and I mean none of the teams have even come close to paying that amount yet they were all on payment plans however should the cdl collapse like overwatch league they will most likely get the money back and or not be needed to pay the full price

FIFA is the most predatory game there is. Of course they would do some lame shit like capping xp on a weekly basis.
