I just got this beauty, its my second high fidelity module after the Hornet, and I´m loving it, even if for the moment I just do short flights to learn basic navigation and get to know the flying characteristic and cockpit layout, these tutorias are gold, thank you for making them.
Great tutorial Saker. It was very easy to follow and you did a great job of explaining what the buttons did. I look forward to more from you. I’m trying out the Viggen, since it has been in my hangar for a while. It’s great to have some new material on the Viggen. Which should go a long way to shortening my learning curve. Have a happy holiday.
Thank you! Happy holidays to you as well! My next tutorial will be on waypoint creation, navigation, and both visual and instrument landing! After that, we’ll get into the weapons :)
absolutely love the viggen and despite being relatively competent ( gotta love cap ) i really look forward to watching all of these and see someone who is a real experienced viggen pilot. Thunder Duck for life!
also i would love to see a radar tutorial showing off air to air and air to ground modes as well as some tutorials for mavericks as bombs and rockets are a bit easier but maybe those later. after that some of the other air to ground missiles would be cool to see!
Well to be clear, I’m not a real Viggen pilot, but this is my main jet and I do know it inside and out! I think my next tutorial will be on navigation and air-to-ground radar manipulation. The air-to-air radar is really niche and rather useless, but I will eventually cover it, probably with sidewinders and air-to-air RB05’s. Thanks for your feedback!

You could do a tutorial on how to utilize the radar rangefinder when doing ground attack. Lots of people think that they have to fiddle around with qfe/qnh settings to deploy ordnance.
The radar range finder is extremely helpful in the final correction, but the initial aiming is done by QFE, so it is still important to have the QFE in correctly so that the reticule doesn’t jump so far when the aircraft gets in radar ranging range. Having the correct QFE also ensures that your “aiming donut” on the HUD is displayed in the correct place while you run in. So I wouldn’t discount the importance of setting QFE :)
Hey Saker, could you please integrate a short "SRS usage in the Viggen" lesson in your tutorial series. That would be great. Just saw you using three different radios in your last sunday mission and asked me how this works. Thanks!
@@Spudspike You would do me a really big favour with this one 👍 sometimes I am such a noob 😅 but I would bet that there are some other guys out there who have the same problem like me to find proper informations about this topic.
I asked this question in my head too, but looking at the numbers flashing on the data computer (3620, 3354, visible at 7:54)...those are coordinates! They lead to southern Turkey on the Syria map, the exact coords are 36 20 16N, 33 54 46E, near the town of Silifke, grid WF82!
Sure thing! I want to cover waypoint creation, navigation, and the visual and instrument landing methods in my next tutorial. But after that, we’ll cover weapons, and the anti ship missiles will be high on that list!
Thanks for the Viggen Tutorials. Will there be a countermeasures tutorial too? I don't get the difference between the INT and KONT switch setting as well as the fast dispense button. Looks also like a program on/off switch and not only hit an flare...
I'll have to look into it. I rarely use countermeasures in the Viggen, and when I do, I simply use the default "Fast Dispense" program that drops 1 flare and 1 chaff per second on activation. It's not often I run into a threat that requires countermeasures - pure speed and terrain masking tends to solve all problems. But I'll do my best to research and cover this once I get the aircraft basics done. Thanks for watching!
@@valhallaab8399 roger that! The way “groups” are defined by the missile are very weird. It won’t identify a horizontal line of ships as a group, (ships in trail) but it will recognize a vertical column of ships (ships in echelon) as a group. I’ll have a picture in that tutorial explaining this.
@@desertsaker196 Somehow no matter how I set it up (with group, attack mode, and series or single release) it always misses, sometimes both but usually only one hits. I set up a waypoint and everything but the Rb-04 is harder than the Rb-15 for me atleast.
