The Recon1 and Code 4 are my most carried knives period. I made my own deep carry pocket clips for both of them, styled after the Spyderco pocket clips but longer and with three useable holes that fit in the original position. I made them from some type of scrap spring steel at a buddy of mine's machine shop and heat colored them, the one for the Recon 1 a deep purplish-blue and the one for the Code 4 to a deep straw color. I also milled in some lines on the Code 4 scales for traction and readonized then to a dark brown, using Rit Chocolate colored dye. Also changed out the Recon one scales to an OD burlap micarta and replaced the nylon pivot washer on them both with a phosphor bronze one and added another to the opposite side that only had one washer. I had to take them down about .005" to get the proper fit but they along with some polishing at the lock and pivot points on the blade with .5 micron diamond paste smoothed out the action quite a bit. I also rebent the lock spring just a tad on the Code 4 and now the action is slick as snot on a doorknob and doesn't take near the pressure to unlock it and the lockup is still just as strong as it ever was

No longer will I ever have to suffer with my knife, falling off of my pocket because the clip isn’t secure enough. Or getting a seatbelt hooked under it and losing my knife, entering an exiting a vehicle. Nor will the sheer weight of the knife ever cause it to fall from my pocket when I happen to be hanging upside down or climbing, which is a regular thing in my profession. I don’t understand, swapping the clips.
Do an entire video on modding pocket clips to fit these knives.. I have every CS model you showed.. Whats available and which Spyderco clips to modify for which models.
Stassa, please do at least a short on the new AD-10 pocket clip you’re waiting to receive. I keep coming so close to buying that knife, but the pocket clip turns me off every time. I know it’s not meant to be a pretty knife, but a nice looking clip that still works well along with some Original Goat scales will make it a pretty knife!

I had a Fin Wolf and it was my go to woods knife but a buddy of mine was going on a hiking trip and asked for some good suggestions of a strong and decently lightweight pocket knife to help him with making fires and also process game. So right away I thought about the Fin Wolf and I gifted it to him, he said it worked extremely well for him so mission accomplished 👍 now I just need to buy myself another one lol

Everyone knows cold steel pocket clips are way too tight from the factory, especially when combined with their grivex/frn/g10 rough scales. Rips your pants to shreds. Swapping them out is a must for an EDC.
I've always liked how secure CS's pocket clips made the knives I bought from them. Never fell out of my pocket or caught on something else in my pocket and was pulled off
I own the 3.5” in S35 and the 2.5” but they’re so wide in the pocket and mine have that clip point blade and I prefer a drop point so it gets carried less than the rest
The recon 1 tanto is probanly my most carrief knife ever. Been carrying it for about 11 years now. Still functions like the day i got it.

Agree also! I’ve had mine for 15 years and carried everyday for most of them. Had to sharpen it a few times but it’s still functions flawlessly

Love my “Air Lite”. Full 4-finger grip. Pocket clip works well. 8” overall and only 3.2oz. For me, it’s a great EDC.
Love mine, but that oversized (But well designed) clip screams, "Knife!"

I also love the AD10 and Recon 1 but had to order titanium deep carry pocket clips from Pops Custom Clips. Way better now.

love code 4. My neuropathic hands with poor grip control made me lose it and send it flying on opening. skateboard tape is really grippy.

Code 4 is a pretty regular carry for me. Ut's a good mix of hard use and slim easy carry.
AD10, the old ones that were hollow ground are awesome. I even have one that was reground by my friend Jon Sorensen aka Rotten Designs.

Their pocket clips could be stepped up just a bit. It's my only issue with Cold Steel myself. Outside of that I love every Cold Steel I own.

Not a fan of where the lock release is located.
The Triad Lock is the strongest lock you'll find on a folding knife but I understand where you're coming from.
