Brother James. .... Thank you man for all you do and have done over the years....priceless your time sharing has been to this hack ....great musician you are...a real unselfish person to have given these thousands of hours freely.... God bless you. ....
Thank you James James. You are a very good teacher and I always get insight from your lessons. A lot of wisdom in your methods. Appreciate all you do here to teach.
These are damn good lessons. The thing I really appreciate is there is no overbearing personality just dying for recognition. We could walk by this cat at the Rite Aide and not even know. While it would be neat to put a face to it I love not having to deal with "Party Marty" and all the nonsense associated with that nonsense. So yeah, thanks a lot for taking the time to do these.
I saw your last video from your prior channel and wanted to thank you for not hanging up your hat. Your lessons suit me perfectly. Also, I put my drop d capo on at the 2nd fret with the high E left open(upside down from normal). This puts you in A instead of G but too my ear this helps the standard tuning version out quit a bit. The high E gives nice suspensions and unisons more like an open tuning. Good for those of us who are lazy about retuning. A regular capo will work as well if your careful.
I just listened to your last message on PT, I have been out of guitar mode for awhile but I am glad I found you here because you are the best guitar teacher. So sorry for the grief you have to deal with for just helping people play, so it is a long time coming, before the dawn. Thank you for the great work you do.
So glad you did the open G version. Been meaning to figure it out, but never got to it. Agree -- this is one of the great ones. I learned this in standard tuning a looong looooooong time ago. Thank you
This song sounds so much better in the open G tuning. It also gives one the opportunity to add a lot of fills that are fun to play. Thanks so much for this video.
I personally like std version. If you want that open G "twang", just transpose chords to barred higher on the neck rather than mostly open 1st. Position.
Damn. You literally have all the best sounding acoustics! Like you got the one out of the batch that sounds absolutely amazing. Anyway, great tutorial as always. Straight to the point, easy to understand and retain.
I always played this in standard tuning and always watched Keith play it live in opened - G and I always wondered how Keith structured the A & B minor cords and the C major to the F major for the guitar brake in opened - G. You gave a nice clear descriptive break down for the open G version of Wild Horses - Bravo !! THKS !!
I started learning guitar in 1970 on my mates dad's acoustic guitar. My mate had it tuned in open g, and was playing its all over now. I thought it was brill, simple and so effective
I’ve been playing open G for 40 years and it never occurred to tune the 6th string up to G. I usually leave it as E for the root/drone of an E chord. Your ear is perfect. I picked up a few things watching your videos. Thank you.
Thanks for the great tutorial James. The Genesee beer sign takes me back to Buffalo NY when I was a kid. We always stayed at a cabin near Sherkston shores (Thunder Bay) in Ontario. My Uncles , my Dad and Mom always had big coolers full of Genesee beer on ice when we had cookouts. They had no idea that my cousin and I were sneaking beer into the woods. A couple tipsy 13 year old kids making the best of one of those family vacations.
This lesson is awesome. Good man. This is as close as i've ever been able to find to the stripped back version the stones do. Some great lessons out there, but you do a great job of bringing the subtleties to life and showing how to do it. Really great job.
Alot of your lessons have a link that only shows your guitar so I am always psyched when I stumble on a lesson I am searcing for and I find one of yours. Always a challenge for me but you break it down in a cool way so I can at least play it in a couple hours. Thanks for taking the time. I hope you are giving lessons privately as well.
The shadows of the strings gives an illusion that it's a 12-string guitar. Learnt this a long time ago from the PT channel, need to refresh this. Thanks.
THANK YOU, JJ....I have been waiting for a good lesson on Wild Horses....I have been playing it in standard tuning, but want to try it in Open G like Keef does.
Well, another song you've taught me to do, way above my abilities to figure out otherwise. (And I've had plenty of Genesee in my time and my first guitar purchase was at House of Guitars.) Many thanks dude.
Aught to hear my 78' Yam FG336SB....The Bassy tone is special.. Steve Miller back in the day used a Hummingbird for Acoustic Jet Airliner, and sure is a way to set them up Special for that amazing tone. Nice Intstruments.
Always wanted to know this in G tuning. I wrote one in E standard I was thinking of re-arranging in G. I have an SG-type guitar I dedicated to a G tuning. Nice job, JJ.
The open G tuning is definitely a "stones" signature sound. Love those suspended notes. Can't name every song they do in this tuning but there are several to be sure.
Another thing you can do is tune too Open D or E and capo up too G, or in my case F because it suits my voice better, same chord shapes just different intervals.
I loved this video when I saw it first - years ago - and I love it now. Thank you JJ for all the videos that you made. I hope you are doing well, sir.
love that both OPEN G and STANDARD tuning are covered. Thanks for taking the time to teach us this.

Double J .... Thanks for keeping the Stone rolling. Hats off to you Sir !
One of my favourite Stones songs and an excellent lesson. Thanks 👍
Great stuff, as always! Open G certainly sounds better. Those ringing chords give the song its color. Thanks!
I personally like std version. If you want that open G "twang", just transpose chords to barred higher on the neck rather than mostly open 1st. Position.
Thanks for the awesome lesson JJ, always appreciated.

JJ, you're getting better with age. Love this video. Thanks.
Thanks man, I've been playing it standard for a while, but it wasn't quite right. Lately I've been using open G a lot, so this is great.
Saw them in Dublin the other night. They did a great version of this, one of the highlights of the night. Great backing vocals from Keith!
Ciaran McGreal Saw them too. What a great performance!
doing my bit for the corona outbreak.Staying in and listen to the greatest tutor out there(running close with Justin Sands). hope your keeping safe
As always your videos are to the point and enjoyable to learn with. Thanks and appreciate the work you put in
I dunno, you shows everything so easy, no pun, it's easy "when you get it" ... Love how easy you show it!
I started learning guitar in 1970 on my mates dad's acoustic guitar. My mate had it tuned in open g, and was playing its all over now. I thought it was brill, simple and so effective

Awesome. Among the best teachers out there. I usually tune the low E to G instead of taking it off or D. Many thanks.
I'd never noticed the difference in dove vs hummingbird until you pointed it out. Wow what a difference.
Great lesson as usual. Thank you for your time and effort! You really do make a difference out here!

This lesson is awesome. Good man. This is as close as i've ever been able to find to the stripped back version the stones do. Some great lessons out there, but you do a great job of bringing the subtleties to life and showing how to do it. Really great job.

Loved it! Thank you.
Love the videos!! Especially all your guitars haha
Subscribed jus coz of how easy going this tutorial was. Straight up to the point. Learnt this song in bed about to sleep without a guitar. 👌🏼
Brilliant (as usual!). I prefer to do the Am in the same pattern as the Bm (G string at 2nd fret) in Open G tuning but that's me. Thank you so much.
Nice! I love that mood
Thank you 🙏 y love your video thank James Merci
