@@YayReacts There's also the scene where Caitlyn is looking at the entry for the Hexgate in the Kiraman archives and it makes a point of showing several air ducts on the schematic that Jinx could have used to get out. Also, the airship flying away in the last scene may be significant. In S1E1, Jinx sees a very similar airship and says "One day, I'm going to ride one of those." Vi came out a yearish before jinx did and they didn’t really do character trailers like they did with jinx before. Jinx really did create a new standard tho.
In LoL, Jinx's background is a destroyed version of Vi's! They also have voice lines between each other and other champions in arcane etc that references to their relationships and some that make a lot of sense after watching arcane!
12:01 Yeah, Caitlyn's original design when she first released in 2013 was best described by League youtuber, TBSkyen, as "a p*rn parody of own character concept" She was then redesigned in 2018 or 2019, the new design being more based on Fortiche's concept art for the show.
Back in the day the lore for a lot of League characters' was very vague, which is why Arcane was really able to have a lot of wiggle room when it came to the story they wanted to write. For a long time with Vi, all we really knew was that she was 1) from the undercity, 2) her gauntlets were mining equipment she used to get out of a cave-in, and 3) her and Caitlyn had a good-cop, bad-cop relationship after the latter found the former. Nowadays, the lore for League and a lot of its champions is more fleshed out. So, if they want to make more shows like Arcane, they'll need to work around the pre-existing stories while trying to find a way to add to it or just make it work in a way that's compelling. For me, who's been playing the game on-and-off since 2016, it's amazing to me that they were actually able to make such a good show from a game that has an infamously toxic community. I still love the game to bits, but, with a reputation that it has, its a miracle that it worked out as well as it did when the studio itself has been having a lot of issues. (Ex: Selling a $500 cosmetic skin and thinking the people who play the game would actually think it's fine and want to spend their hard-earned money on that of all things.)
Fun fact: Jinx hints that she has a sister in game with the quote "if you think I am crazy? you should see my sister", thought not confirmed her sister was Vi, it was the popular theory, which was further accepted after Ekko release and his mural. In a talk speaking about her lore after arcane on dev (not related to arcane, just the game) said that the plan was for Jinx to be the OLDER sister, and while something happened in their childhood to separate them, Jinx saw picking fightings with Vi (who was not aware of this), and exploding things around her as Spending quality time with her sister
i think ghostcrawler accidently confirmed they were sisters in an interview a long time ago too so the whole community just knew it was cannon even though it wasnt ever stated in universe
the thing with this jinx video is that she was the first champion riot made a big fuzz about, thy teased us for weeks, they release images of he tatoos, the riot website got full of grafittis in the same collor and design as the one written "Jinx" in the end of the video, the community got really curious to see her, then the video came out and we all loved it, it set a mark on riot history and the way they release a new champion.
"Legends of Runeterra" was also where Jinx`s sibling relationship with Vi was finally officially confirmed after years of fan theories and where Jinx`s birthname Powder(And it was Ekko who said it in what was both one of Antony Del Rio`s last lines as Ekko and one of Reed Shannon`s first) as well as Jayce and Viktor being lab partners before becoming enemies over different visions for Hextech and differing loyalties in the Piltover vs. Zaun conflict was first revealed.
You can indeed "rewind time" with ekko ingame! His ultimate is that he rewinds himself back in time to where u were before and the amount of health u had before, very useful in fights or if u need to escape! He also has a ability where he puts a sort of time slowing field down, and if he is in that field he gets a shield, if a enemy is in the field alone they get slowed but if ekko and the enemy is in the circle together at the same time, the enemy gets stunned! X)
Judging by the comments, you've seen both seasons. It surprises me how much of Jinx's trailer was used as canon for the story of Arcane. The scene of Jinx riding the rocket into the towers of Piltover matches S1E9 when Jinx fires the rocket into the council, Her shadow boxing matching when she went at the Boxing machine when she was older, the airship in flames matching when we see Jinx for the first time and she airship she was on went up in flames, and finally seeing the city explode matches the multiple times when seen Jinx just explode various parts of the city numerous times.
Antony Del Rio was the voice actor for Ekko in "League", "Teamfight Tactics", "Ekko:Seconds" and "Legends of Runeterra". Reed Shannon took over first as a younger Ekko in "Legends of Runeterra" and then teen Ekko in "Arcane" and "Convergence".
I remember when Vi came out, it was always cool to see a new character and loginscreen when joining the game but people really didn't focus much on lore at this time, it was more community focused and they showed of crafts or plays from the community in a small youtube format presented in the client called "summoners showcase"

almost all champions in League have their own theme song (even skin theme song), old version is always like champ moves a bit but when new version - the theme song videos, they add how they made that champion from drawing. after Arcane, riot just rewrites the story of related champions, so old lore not right for now. - But Jayce and Viktor old stories are so good to be fair. - Caitlyn and Vi 's love only until 2020 riot confirms they are lover (that year is mostly about LGBT) - Vi came first and Jinx came after with voice lines hint about hate-mystery sister relationship - Ekko already like Jinx since he came out so ss2ep7 is what we waited for - Vi has VI-6 on her cheek, Jinx has X-10 somewhere on her design or her paint, and Ekko has XI-11 on his sword (actually it's a clockwise, in ss2ep9 they showed it but only people know lore catch it). So we did have a theory about all 3 in a same gang and in Arcane we can see that somehow 4:31 Ekko has comic or short story about that wall is for died friends before Arcane came out in 2021, so in Arcane he drew it on the tree. Fortiche changed Ekko's hair from Mohawk to Arcane version bcs they said that not how black people's hair be (Christian answered that in Necrit interview). Ekko ultimate is go back 4 seconds and they take it to Arcane, and they also be clear that he can only heal a part not all health; ss2ep7 dance scene is also low down from 24 frame/sec to 4 frame/sec like in game (thank you for making this) 9:50 Fortiche made Get Jinx too and their symbol is Rhino. Also it only in mini on League client, the big gun of ss2ep9 is named Rhino too (you can search "Jinx Fix Everything" for people played it). In ss1 when this song came up, all things in this video get in that scene too (except robots).
One developer of League has confirmed that Jinx and Vi where supposed to be sisters (with subtle hints throughout voicelines in game). But if I remember correctly Jinx was supposed to be the older sister and Vi didn't remember she had a sister since they apparently where separated while young (Vi was to young to remember) but Jinx still remembered.
Sooooo originally arcane was a separate universe but due to popularity it became the Canon lore for those characters. I believe Necrit explained that it was so that new players that came to the game after watching arcane didn't feel like the characters from the show were completely different. Like Vi for example, for us players, she started off as an enforcer, and arcane is how she became one. It was hinted that jinx and vi were sisters but never confirmed until arcane. Also, yes, Cait and vi are in warriors I forget if you've seen that already.
Hey! Love that you checked these out! Next up you should check out the Here Comes Vi / Get Jinxed mashup video performed by the original singer of the Vi song and guest singer Lunity. It's amazing!
Indeed if you pick Ekko in game, u can sort of reset like this. His "ultimate" ability (R). While your R is ready to be used, there is a trail after-image that shows where you were 4 seconds ago. If you press R, you go back to that position, dealing massive damage in an area around you and healing for a portion of the damage you have taken in the past 4 seconds. Its pretty cool because you can do stuff like, getting yourself in very dangerous positions, and then just BOOP reset time. Its a literal ctrl+z x'd I've always loved movies with timetravel themes and stuff like that so i knew about Ekko even before i started playing league and was the first champ i got with the in game currency (he was one of the expensive ones back in the day so took me a while lol). Ironically since you asked Ekko Indeed can "Rewind Time" in game. How it works is pretty simple actually. Once you get your ultimate you will have a Trailing Afterimage that walks and is where you are a couple of seconds ago that you and your opponent can see. And when you use your ultimate it blinks you back to that location and heals you back to where your health was during that time along with some extra I bieleve as well and also does a Huge Amount of Damage if your opponent is dumb enough to stand in that area. Though do to Riot Messing Up with how he Scaled people for a long time built him as a Tank once they realized he still did a Significant Amount of Damage had good Crowd Control and Area Denial and could basically have a Second Healthbar if you were getting Hit Hard. They changed how he scales so it isn't really that viable anymore.
did you see the theory that jinx is alive? theres a pink streak before the explosion and its presumed jinx escaped the explosion. also cait is looking at the ventilation shafts. its assumed they didnt see her body.
Even though they changed her design a little bit for Arcane, It's awesome just how much they made sure to pull from this video and reuse throughout the whole show (cymbal monkeys, pink and blue graffiti, heck the design of Piltover had big inspiriation from this video too)
I saw that you have done plenty of League reactions already but you should react to Necrit's explenations of the cinematics and one I think you missed is "Call Of Power". It follows one of the most important characters in League lore and also what Heimerdinger imagined when he was talking about magic destroying nations. Also the Warriors 2020 cinematic is a MUST WATCH.
Ekkos power in game doesnt actually turn the game back. His character just get rewound to where he was 4 seconds ago and you regain what health you lost. Also does an explosion where he appears after rewinding
Jinx and Vi weren't sisters from the beginning. I think the champion designer wasn't sure either if they should be sisters, until they decided that it is a good story to tell in an animated series.
All i can say.... if riot turn piltover and this story into a masterpiece, i cannot wait to see what they do with the other region... its gonna get even better...
Arcane kind of brought some mixed feelings when announced, since it was going to be a prequel but we wanted a show for such a long time. Since with all prequels there is a chance it will ruin or retcon characters you like or just be bad there was a lot of anxiety. Fortunately, it was good. So even with some of the retconning, Riot decided to make it THE new lore. If it had been bad Riot would have proclaimed it noncannon, but they were very confident it its success. Im for the kost part happy, except for Victor, his epic knight templar evolutionary supremacist gigachad aura had to be sacrificed for better storytelling.
It's odd that you feel that people were more geared towards Jinx's story originally, because Jinx's original story was one of the worst in League's history. She was literally just a crazy person for no reason. Zero context. Jinx and Vi were also never sisters until Arcane. They'd never met each other.
They were, it was just never confirmed. They hinted at it a good few times, like if you were playing Vi the shopkeeper could say "You look like your sister! Er, wait, I'm not supposed to talk about that...". Or that Vi was found in a bassinet for 2. Edit: Actually it was confirmed in 2017 during an interview. Riot Ghostcrawler straight up says they are sisters.
@@ReconWafflez Yes, just to specify, I was just referring to the in-universe lore. Their back-stories didn't ever indicate that they were sisters, but Arcane is now canon, and their lore will be rewritten to reflect that.

Fun fact Get Jinxed is the first time Fortiche and Riot parterned up
I saw that you have done plenty of League reactions already but you should react to Necrit's explenations of the cinematics and one I think you missed is "Call Of Power".
11:35 I can't believe you didn't check out Jinx"s login screen. 😮
6:45 Arcane is made by Riot games. League of legends is made by Riot games too so thats why they look so similiar.
Haha 😂😂
Im dead 🤣
all the characters have there own lore. theres a hand full of champs that havent gotten any lore. shaco, chogath, kogmaw, just to name a few.
Yes there voice actor for Ekko is the same.
Oh you have to watch the Odyssey animated trailer, Jinx has a different skin there
All i can say.... if riot turn piltover and this story into a masterpiece, i cannot wait to see what they do with the other region... its gonna get even better...
Bit of a shame that this Vi, Ekko and Jinx are gone. All hail Arcane or something, i dont know.
You should react to Jayce's theme. Its amaizing
Vi's story became a lil bit more interesting due to arcane
league vi>arcane vi
