It amazes me how some people are so very skilled in their trade, and have mastered the video production equally. Fantastic work on all fronts! Inspiring.
you did an awesome job with that mate! And you have given me some good ideas for my car boot. I've just recently got back into a construction job that requires me to drive to different sites and carry a lot of tools. The boot and the back seat right now is pretty tragic being cluttered with steel fixing belts and the upholstery is caked in concrete! Until I invest in another trayback, I'm relying on a sedan. Well done on the really informative video! I look forward to seeing what other cool things you come out with!
Excellent video and build! As a builder, my favorite line was. "I managed to glue the sheet into position." but it also sounded like, "glue the shit into position." That is what I would have been saying at this point in the build! Again, excellent work, keep it up!
Great design I conteplated something like this, because it gives you the entire boot space but also allows you to carry your entire workshop when you're one of those people who likes their tools
This is amazing, I've been desperately trying to figure out how to build EXACTLY this for my CRV. I doubt I could ever get a finished product that looks as perfect as yours though.
Love your videos... Just a tip... if you take off the carpet you will add a 0.5 to 0.7 decibells... if you cut a small 45° angle lip in all the corners you will also add on the db's... and if you really want a few more, you can seal it with rezon... Keep on keeping on.. much love brother
Initially wasn't expecting much- After viewing is a very nice job. Good functionality and not hard to remove if for some reason need to. It has been a year, any modifications you might have wanted to change by chance? I really do like it as is.
Hello Mark, I still have it installed in the car without any issues. The cable-ties aren't really needed, so that's something I've dropped. Last week we transported a washing machine (packaged) and I forgot to take it out, luckily the machine fitted barely but that might be the downside; You can get in a situation where a load might have fitted without the storage-bay. But I'm still very happy I made it, for me it works great. Thanks and have a nice day 👍
The speedsquare/ruler trick to mark the curves of the trunk is insanely helpful, not just in this paritcular case but in other projects where I have always had a hard time translating the contours of some fixed space onto a piece of wood. Thank you!
Thanks for the awesome video Steven. The solution is well presented and complete. I am working on a similar concept for my Jeep and this concept will fit my needs well.
I would of got a black piano hinge or just painted it But hey that was a great video ! I don’t even own a car like that I own a truck and just recently made pull out drawers
Yes a black one would have been nicer, I only found those brass hinges. Wish I had a truck too but our government declared war on them with extremely high taxes, won't ever be able to afford one now. Great to read you made a pull out project for yours. Cheers
You cannot tell me that you don't hear rattling from that loose stuff with sidewalls unlined. I wouldn't have used those cheap magnets either. Otherwise, great job.

Thank you for the kind words, means a lot 🙏, glad you like the video. cheers

This was awesome! Exactly what I was looking to do for my Jeep Compass Trailhawk for all my recovery gear! Thank you!
ThNks for this. I made this for my car based off your video.
This is amazing, I've been desperately trying to figure out how to build EXACTLY this for my CRV. I doubt I could ever get a finished product that looks as perfect as yours though.

Round washer can be used to accomplish this; roll the washer along the edge with the pencil ✏️ on the inside to mark the edge.
amazing work
Çok güzel olmuş tebrikler

I don’t even own a car like that

This is a phenomenal build! Have you had any issues with the liner getting snagged along the hinge seams?
Thanks, the liner doesn't get snagged along the hinge seam, but I left a gap there (about 4-5mm) so it can freely rotate/move. Cheers
Buen trabajo 👍
gracias! 👍
Really 👍
Excelent¡¡¡¡
super
Where can I get the boot liner
I got it from a site called 'Autodoc' (europe) cheers
The tools in the drawers must be secured, otherwise they will rattle and dangle
You cannot tell me that you don't hear rattling from that loose stuff with sidewalls unlined. I wouldn't have used those cheap magnets either. Otherwise, great job.
Ciao, posso comprartene uno identico?
(Tradotto) Ciao, sono solo un ragazzo per hobby, quindi non posso aiutarti in questo. Grazie per la comprensione.
Great for a vehicle when the spare isn't in the trunk, but useless otherwise.
