- Norfolk Southern Trains With Rebuilt Locomotives Use CSX Track! 6 Trains In Glendale, Ohio On CSX Toledo Sub. BIG Coal Train, Local Railroad Switcher, 3 Mixed Freights & An Intermodal Train. Several Rebuilt Norfolk Southern Locomotives Are On The Trains. Railfan Get Together & Dinner Next To The Double Track Main Line.
First we see a loaded CSX coal train. This was a heavy train and came through just 30 minutes after I got there. A group of us railfans got together for dinner at the Cock N Bull restaurant. Before we went inside the northbound coal train passed. While we were inside there was one train. A southbound local switcher was returning from working Tropicana so I ran outside to film it and see how many Tropicana cars it had. After it passed I went back inside but no other trains came until we were done eating.
The third train was a southbound CSX mixed freight. One of the guys was joking and said a southbound train was coming so a few of us ran to the railroad crossing to get ready. There was no train coming but before we could put our cameras up a southbound train surprised us and we were able to film it since we already had our cameras out. LOl. This is a "no train horn zone" and most trains run northbound due to this being primarily directional running for northbound trains. There are numerous exceptions but southbound trains are difficult to film because usually they just pop up around the curve with no warning and before you know it they are across the crossing.
The next 3 trains were all Norfolk Southern trains. The first one was an intermodal train. It had 3 locomotives and was booking pretty good. Shortly after that train, a Norfolk Southern mixed freight with a couple of rebuilt locomotives showed up. I decided to leave shortly after that. While I was walking to my truck I noticed the signal for track one go green. I went over to the store and got some Red Bull and decided to wait for one last train. This was actually a pretty good one. The 6th and final train was a Norfolk Southern mixed freight with another rebuilt locomotive. The NS rebuilt locomotives were recently finished by Wabtec in either Erie, Pa or Ft. Worth, Texas. For example, unit 4716 was rebuilt and painted in November of 2023 by Wabtec in Erie, Pennsylvania. The NS train with the other two rebuilds were done in Ft. Worth, Texas. The rebuilt locomotives were converted from DC to AC.

It's fun to watch your dogs play, their cute!
Loki has an enormous amount of energy. I never saw a dog with that much energy. He has to be doing something all the time. He likes to play with Chessie or just find something to tear up
I hope you & your family have a great 2024!!
Thanks Dave and Happy New Year!
It's nice that you gave Mrs. Linda a shot at your most iconic saying!👍
I grew up in Glendale and learn something new about the town every time Jawtooth posts a video from there.

Love ❤❤ videos! I can’t believe that coal train didn’t have a DPU!!! Lot of engine power!!!
You got that right!
I ate at Cock N Bull. We sat the corner table, on the balcony. It was awesome. When trains go by, you’re eye to eye with the crew. It’s the best view ever.
That is very cool.
Did you know that the Cock and Bull Restaurant is now called the Glendale Trackside Pub Restaurant?
When i was a kid ..a couple years ago 😁.. i will stop what i was eating just to run out to see the trains go by... Exeped when mom made home made mac & chees ... I took that with me..😉
Your sister got all the looks in the family!
"But wait, there's Moore" (Linda Moore). Good one Brian.
Muito bom esse vídeo, boas tomadas, ângulos. Parabéns
Thanks for watching!
Good trains. Good friends. Good food. Can't go wrong with that recipe. No potato reefers today but I figure you had some with lunch
Looks like your sister got the good looks in your family!😀😀😀😀
I think so too!
Hi JT I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and wish you wonderful blessings this year ❤❤❤
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo comme toujours !✨✨✨✨✨👍
Good to see all those containers on the railroad rather than on lorries. We suffer in the UK from having most of our railways closed in the 1960s. Have a Happy New Year 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Happy New Year
Stop buying stuff and we'll stay off the road you love us when we bring things to your grocery stores and everything else but then you want us gone but guess what led you can't have it both ways hate to break your bloody heart
Excellent video JT.
Happy New Year!
Awesome video but wait there’s more 👍😎🇺🇸🚂👍
Of course there always is!
You know JT, I think my Lotus will fit under those gates. 😊
Now that was a long mixed freight. It was awesome 👍! Thanks JT! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
I like it when you find the spots with the gaps in the track. My favorite part is the clack clack clack clack.
That's a nice intermodal. Long enough to be long and a good variety of containers. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Yes indeed!
well done Linda, that was cool. The older brown dog looking at these too galloots
The ideal combination...Trains , Food & Beer 🇬🇧
😊in Dutch:hartelijk bedankt weer voor deze mooie video Brian.groeten:🍐Peer.👍👍👍👍

Good Morning All
Good morning
Morning!
Hey jaw tooth great location for the railfan whose hungry. Get a seat by window so can watch trains while eating. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas. Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Thanks! You too!
You're not kidding when you said it was a heavy train! Close to 13 million pounds. It's hard to believe they only need 2 locomotives to pull it, of which the secon one sure looked good! I love coal trains too, JT. Great catch! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Nice work,,thanks for sharing..😊
Looks like a good time to be had by all.
Those high-top gondolas with tarps usually carry cottonseed or woodchips.
Great stuff.
Amazing videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good work
Glad you like them!
Can't beat great railfanning and food at the same time!
Love those coal trains.
Nice catches JT! Great video!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thank you very much!
Your new dog has a lot of puppy left in him... he is wearing out your other dogs with his playfulness... lol
I noticed those porches looking toward the tracks. That would be awesome
wow , clean shiney locomotives on a coal train , nice
What a fantastic day on the rails for the group of Railfans that day! Lot of train action! LOVE coal trains as it reminds me of when I lived in Montana and the coal trains would go by heading up the mountain pass. They were the longest trains I've ever seen and they would have locomotives in the front, middle and in the end to help get them over the mountains. Hope to visit the Cock and Bull someday and enjoy a day watching the trains there. Thanks for a great video JT!!! Until next time!
Wow! Great catch, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff as usual! I was watching at the entrance to Queensgate on Wed and got some pics of the train from your last short clip you got of CSX 5217. It was a beautiful day for spotting!
Loved the little town, seemed quite until a train came through, good catch Mr. JT, the people in the suv, were having a bad day hopefully no one got hurt.
Well done Brian. We had a good time that day

Nice to see all the train fans and that was a cool coal train
It's worth it good morning
Glendale is a good place lots of historical building and great spot for railfanning great video thanks Brian and Scott
Expected a railfan stampede during dinner. Every time I see a coal train, I hear Don Cornelius saying "Soooooouuuuuul Train."
Now I just have to convince JT to say "Coooooal Train!"😂
I might do that. Thanks for watching!
Nice Video, Big CSX, Coal, Reminds myself of my Father when he Actually Drove Super Large Coal Trains in our Central Queensland, Like it a lot, Hope your Xmas and New Year is that which you hope for, Looks like Great Company in that place.
Should sit on the Balcony and watch them Roll On By.

🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲🇺🇲💨
Awesome Video!
👌🌳🇮🇳🌳👌
Thanks for watching!
Great coal train, a long one, and heavily loaded. Bet you enjoyed the railfan meal! Nice intermodal zipping right along. I do miss the horns. ❤
All crossings should be quad, bet that would cut down on the gate runners. Lots of trains, cool. Great video. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Thanks, you too!
Mixed manifest for me will always be my idea of RR. Grew up in KS on the ATSF and never saw any autos riding the rails but all the rest were there. In TX on the TP and later the SP no cars there either but a lot of pipe even NIPPON mfg. That was in the Permian Basin. In PA, thinking back, it was Amtrak and SEPTA.
IN 76 the UP bicentennial came through Odessa. How cool if 4014 had been pulling that one
Better than dessert!!
I like the beautiful NS 4716 😍😍
Excellent video
another good one!
Thanks!
It looks like CSX has done a job on the 4745 with the brand spanking new paint. It is marked SD70AC. The hoppers belong to Progress Rail Leasing.
Thanks for a fantastic video! Coal trains are awesome!
Great catches and nice video jaw tooth
Station is in Italianate style common from 2855 to 1870. Part of Hamilton depot is in same style. C H & D probably had standard station plans.
This might be the first time I have seen double gates at a rail crossing most just have one gate each side.
Nice video jaw . No train horns suck 👎 that’s my Vote . Be safe 😎. The Animal crew 👍🏻😎 . 👍🏻. Robin out .
Coals what keeps the lights On! Solar & Wind only provides about 35% of the energy our country needs!
Good video Jawtooth
They better get that hose pulled up before it gets snatched off.
Good video
Great video JT!!
Definitely a great visit to Glendale. A bunch of good trains, some good history, and some good food! Hard to beat that :)
Thanks for watching!
coal trains and potash trains up here in the prairies are nicknamed prairie caterpillars in case you haven't heard that before lol great video once again thank you Jaw Tooth
Interesting!
@@JawTooth hope your week is going smoothly and you are feeling better and better each day
Another awesome video!! Great variety of consists... love seeing all the railfans at the dinner table!! 😁
Glad you enjoyed!
Good location, a lot of history. Everything looks beautiful and very well kept up to date. Nice job on this one JT. Keep up the good work.
Great Video Brian, a great way to capture the day! We got a lot of good stuff!
At time stamp 6:29 I got a ho scale locomotive like that for Christmas. And at first the coal train I thought there would be a DPU UNIT to break up the heavy coal train. But I guess the 2 lead locamotives were enough power.
Wow the electric bell on the ac44c6m would like to see how the csx cm44ac is also given an electric bell
That cool see Tropicana train cars, Bradenton, Florida Manatee county that was pretty awesome and I’m in Pensacola Florida in the panhandle county Bradenton, where the Tropicana plant is on the other side of Tampa
Thank you for suggesting the Cock & Bull years ago. I try to make it to Glendale once a year and always eat there on your recommendation. Maybe you should add a review of the place you eat at on your excursions. Thank you for all you do. 😊
Good idea thanks for watching!
Mornin JT.
Great video as always Sir. Some of those NS engine were sure puuuurdy! Cheers from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Also the coal train. Stated was headed to Middletown Ohio to AK steel. That’s pretty cool too inside Cincinnati. Is AK Steel still running?
Thanks JT for a other great video. Looks like a cool place to watch trains, loved to visit someday. You could rent that green house with the red chairs on the porch to sit and watch for trains and film. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.
That dog looked like an Anatolian Shepard (good watch dog).
Nice work JT, lots of trains today!! Cool to see the long hood forward on that short one. I love that 4 gate crossing, I might have to incorporate that into my layout down the road.
Thanks for watching!
Love it when you are in Squirrel Town Glendale. Great trains. Wow the prices in the Cock and Bull, I would be in heaven if prices here were like that. Prices in Canada are outrageously high, Have a safe and happy New Year.
Love the hat im from Michigan yooper hat love it!
Not bad, but I think NS's black/white Engines look the best. BNSF are tough to. Awesome vid! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Good morning jaw tooth
