Overnighter by the Gulf of Bothnia, northern Sweden. Skiing with the pulk on the ice, and sleeping in the tent on the snow, Hilleberg Nammatj. English subtitles Music by Erik
Tusen tack, Erik!
The light and colours are breathtaking and I’m always fascinated by the sea when it’s frozen as I have never seen it in reality. Thank you sharing you experience doubt as well as longing before setting out!
Hey ! Says the Canadian Again most beautiful image, in still photo or film, the music bring drama to the pictures, the colors, the night falling, solitude, the stars at night with the light of town far away in the distance, from here in my hospital room it is comforting and nostalgic.
Thanks for giving the opportunity to watch this beautiful desolate landscape. We don't have that anymore. You took a big sip there of your morning coffee!..
It's lovely to hear your own personal thoughts here and there. You remind me of Everett Ruess. He lived in the early 1930's and was hiking around the Utah and Arizona area. Even his blockprints remind me of your drawings. He kept a written diary and now you have your online diary here on youtube : )
Great video, very well done. What a great adventure. We don't have frozen water like that nearby but I will try and find some after seeing what you make of it.
I can't stand the cold with the just one outside tent in such a cold environment. I think the body feels colder than fifteen degrees below zero. Is it because of repeated winter training? You seem to be excellent at keeping up with the coldest weather. That's great.~ Erik.
Very nice video! You only showed the inside of your Nammatj very briefly, but it looked as if you were using only the outer tent without the inner or footprint. Is that correct? If so, why? Certainly not for a weight savings as you were using a pulk for your gear. I love my Nammatj 3 (non-GT) and always use it with inner and footprint and keep that all attached.
That is correct! In the winter I sometimes only use the outer tent to save weight. This time I didn't need to save weight, but I just grabbed the tent as it was at home. Atb Erik

More fantastic film Erik. We loved the Eagles....and Ravens. You bring the feeling of cold , isolation and peace with your films.
Thanks Jeremy!
Beautifully conceived and poetic work. Thank you.
Your work is fantastic, Erik. Any time I need a bit of extra motivation to go hiking or winter camping your RUclips channel provides all I need. 😎
Amazing night sky 💜 and minus 14 degree cold...I will be frozen 😊 great video Erik 👍

Vacker scen. Tack än en gång för dina videoklipp.
Gorgeous scene. Thank you, once again, for your videos.
Tack!
Erik

I never thought the gulf would freeze this year, but with a period of cold weather it is now almost completely frozen over to Finland.
Nice.
I was in the Italian Alps with -25 two years ago.
Beautiful video. :)
Take care. Craig

Interesting to hear that :) Yes, youtube is kind of a modern world diary.

Thanks! The frozen water creates a fascinating landscape, but tricky and constantly changing with the wind and weather. Atb Erik
Nicely done!

Extraordinary work. Beautiful. Marvellous. I’m curious - you never seem to have trouble lighting your Trangia even at -15. How??
I use ordinary alcohol. I leave the match in the burner as a candlewick, maybe thats the trick.
Erik Normark thanks much
