Memorial is drenched in melody with face-crushing guitars and rhythms from start to finish. Album opener ‘Sincere’ starts off with relentless propulsion, whilst the sheer power of the title track is enriched with a solid groove, underlying the weighty tones and evocative vocals of Joel Ekelöf.
Finishing with the beautiful, tragic, Pink Floyd-esque ballad ‘Vitals’, Memorial is arguably the band finding their best stride yet. Soen have been building up to this moment for years and now they’re here with Memorial, which is an inspiring modern hard rock classic.

First listen it was an instant classic. Same.
Have a doubt here, the part that states "say you're alive" refers to the entity or angel whose he's begging for help to not feel pain? Or the subject of the song which ran off?

Joel's voice is simply magnificent. Such a beautiful song - so emotive it made me cry. Soen have got to be the best band in the world. Undiscovered but not for long.

Vitals is showing how they grow through these years. That moment in 03:09-03:17 is EPIC. What a nice melody !

Years ago I was asked a question..’If you could have written a song, which song would you have loved to have written?’ I had been thinking about Marillion’s ‘Neverland’, Dream Theater’s ‘Count of Tuscany’ and Jackson Browne’s ‘The Load Out/Stay’…….till I heard Soen’s ‘Vitals’. Pure emotions, heartfelt, melodramatic, love and pain to the power of infinity……here’s my answer..’Vitals!’

Also, Sleep Token are not bad, definitely have a few interesting songs, but as a whole - way too overprocessed and synthetic, also the mix of styles, sometimes feel just like a gimmick for the sake of being different and not a purposeful change.
Soen are traditional, very good musicians, you can't compare them in my eyes to a band like Sleep Token that rely on more simpler songwriting and tons of sound processing to hide that fact.
I heard this in the machine shop- couldn't even hear the lyrics and I felt like crying- I finally heard the lyrics and I did cry😢❤

Started "unique" - aka Tool clone. I really enjoyed Lotus and Imperial, but the new album is kinda inconsistent.
