    You nailed it. All the folks with tons of subscribers on youtube who go out for a weekend and make elaborate meals dirtying 50 dishes are just unrealistic about life on the road long term. No way, I can spend tons of water cleaning all it took to make one elaborate gourmet meal!!! These folks go out for a few days and take their dirty dishes home to clean!! Same with all sorts of things I see on these RUclips channels... specially the folks who have a new Jeep donated to them every week!! Don't get me started... lol.

      Haha but it looks so good for the RUclips’s 😂 you’re right, it’s mind blowing what some people must think is normal on the trail. Light and fast will always be the way to go 🙌

    I'm getting close to retirement and decided I want to start traveling / "overlanding". My Bronco is on order and I'm already looking at how i want to kit it out. I want to keep weight down while still being comfortable. My wife and i were going to get a Patriot Camper X3 but plans changed and i had to cancel my order. The Ursa Minor looks interesting but for now I'm going to plan on sleeping inside the Bronco. I'm sure things will continue evolving though.
    Your rig looks well thought out. I could take some things from your way of doing it. Thanks for the video

    I use my Jeep as a daily commuter so wouldn't make sense to carry so much gear as I am mostly an occasional weekend warrior camper. I'm still in a ground tent situation but seriously considering a RTT. I want a fast set up and my meals are prepped at home to minimize time cooking at camp and cleaning. I love our ground tent as we have family or friends who want to join and so I always have an extra cot and gear I can throw in and a huge tent so its been working out great for those purposes. I love your setup and vids have very useful info. I think one of the best channels for jeep life!!

    Interesting - I’m full time now in a JKU without an Ursa but have built it to live in. I don’t have as much space but I do have a full time bed that can stay up and a desk I can work at 😜

      That’s awesome! I would love to see your build out. Do you have an IG?

    I totally agree. I get my Ursa in June (hopefully) and I am absolutely going the minimalist route. Thanks for sharing! I’ve really enjoyed a lot of your content! keep it up! PS - trade out the extinguisher for an element e50 and bet your head will thank you. 😉

      @KramerJunction  2 года назад

      Oh man 100% on the element, that’s happening, for sure. Hopefully your top arrives sooner than later 🙌
      With the J30 and Goose Gear 100% delete I love having a ton of cabin space is the Jeep so I have gone to great lengths to maximize that

    I thoroughly enjoy your content. I get many ideas from watching others as I am better at copying than designing. I am currently exploring a larger water tank for my JKU. First choice is the Front Runner Footwell, second would be Slant Back. Big question, how much sloshing is in the slant back. I am not sure if it has baffles. The foot well is almost a two compartment tank by design and may not slosh as much. I look forward to your advice. Get up the good work and be safe.

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  2 года назад

      Haha thank you I’m glad you enjoy it! There are no baffles in any of the front runner tanks. When I had the slanted tank, there was a bit of sloshing, but the only time I would ever have it filled is right before heading to camp so it wasn’t too bad. I currently run the front runner 5 gal jerry and don’t really notice any sloshing noise, but the same, it’s usually mostly empty or totally full so sloshing isn’t really an issue. The footwell tank actually looks like a really good option if you can spare the space. I have thought about building out my own plate system and redoing everything, including the water with the footwell tank just to get more cab space. It’s all about imagination and figuring out how to make it all work lol

      @@KramerJunction thank you for the reply. All useful information. I currently run Jerry cans for water but they do take up room and aren’t pressurized. Going to build my own platform using the design from Cheaper Jeeper dude. Will keep you posted. If you ever get out Kentucky way. Give me a holler. Whole different off-road trails out here.

    I'm going to same route but no Ursa minor.

    Cool. Ya we are headed that way. Mainly cause we are no longer full time in the RV and doing long trips in the Jeep. Now we have a garage to store winter stuff etc when not in use.
    Any thoughts to getting the fridge and water on the other side for balance since you are solo most of the time?

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  2 года назад +1

      Moving the fridge and water tank to the other side would be easy to do just slide everything over and of course for the water tank adjust the tube accordingly. My long term plan is to actually mount the water tank under the rear of the Jeep. I have all of the parts for the install just need to find time. My JKU like many I’m sure actually has that typical passenger side lean due so it actually helps balance the Jeep well with the gas tank on the other side lol plus I just like having things set up that way for my preference but it is all preference 👍🏻

    Keep it simple or like we say : less is more. Absolutely right. Will get my UM in september.
    Do you have 2 fire extinguishers, are they different?

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  2 года назад +1

      Yes, less is definitely more and with the J30 it really makes a difference!
      I do. The one I always hit my head on is the larger and the smaller is basically a small kitchen sized extinguisher I keep handy because I cook on my tailgate

    Huge fan of your videos!! You have such a chill vibe and awesome setup. I’m hoping to get an UM this year along with a Jeep Willys. My only concern I hear is the screen mesh is pretty coarse and allows no see ums through. Have you experienced this in certain locations and if so how do you combat? How is the wind noise with the tent fabric? I hear you mentioning getting run out of Alabama Hills with wind noise!

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  2 года назад +1

      Haha thank you! I’m glad you appreciate what I’m doing.
      I 100% recommend a jeep with UM top, it’s a total game changer.
      We don’t really get those in my neck of the woods but I have encountered extremely small
      Insects getting in. The top is definitely not air tight lol I do know this is an issue for other, just not one I’ve had to combat. I do recommend trying to keep lights off up top at night of you can help it or keep the top sealed from the bottom so bugs can’t make their way up and be waiting for you.
      I recently removed all of my zippers and that cut down noise quite a bit but it isn’t too bad in the wind. The only times I have retreated from a windy area, it was because I was genuinely concerned about the top being damaged and not the noise.
      Are you part of the UM group on Facebook?
      Hopefully I will see you out there 🙌

      A good fix for the bugs is to treat the tent screens with Permethrin. Some tent manufacturers are doing this. You could treat about any possible entry points with it

    Can u open and close up the Ursa from the inside?
    Or do you have to do the set up and take down from outside?

    • @KramerJunction
      @KramerJunction  2 года назад

      You can technically do either or but it would be a bit of a pain putting it down from the inside

    Why don’t you use the doors to get in and then out?
