Mail bag question from European listener and Mets fan! Before the season started, Christian Scott, Mike Vasil and Dom Hamel were considered 'the Big 3' in pitching prospects, also by your show. However in you last episode, you didn't even mention Vasil and Hamel anymore, and only talked about (correct me if I'm wrong) Sproat and Tidwill as potential 2024 callups. Have you soured on Vasil and Hamel, and what do you think will happen to them?

Baty has improved defensively but offensively has been limited. Vientos has been serviceable at 3rd and looks like the better hitter. At what point does Vientos start getting the majority of the starts over Baty?

I posted this question earlier, didnt see this thread, so here it is again: Mail bag question from European listener and Mets fan! No secret that we need more bullpen help. Should we DFA Tyrone Taylor for another arm? He’s not really hitting, and we already have four other outfielders (Nimmo, Bader, Marte, Stewart) plus McNeil who can play there if needed. I like Taylor, but it’s to see how he adds more value to the team right now than another bullpen arm would. I’d also understand Stewart instead of Taylor. Also, who would the arm be? Thanks and big fan!

Hey guys. I was looking at some statcast numbers from this year and last. So many Mets are among the unluckiest hitters in the game as it pertains to expected BA vs their actual BA, expected SLG vs actual slug, etc. Pete, Baty, and Marte were very unlucky last year, and Lindor and Nimmo are this year. Other than Citi being such a tough place to hit, why else are our guys getting such unfortunate results?

First, thank you for an amazing podcast that has taught me a lot about the Mets and baseball in general!
Second, As a Mets fan from Scandinavia travelling to see the Mets for the first time this weekend, would you be so kind as to tell me a bit more about the Mets-Phillies-rivalry? What is the sporting and cultural history of the rivalry, and how do you guys personally feel about the Phillies?
    Best from Copenhagen, Denmark
PS. I also left a 5 star review on Spotify, but was unable to comment there.

If this season doesn't turn around (and to be fair, that is looking less likely as time runs out), what could this line up/rotation look like post deadline if they sell as much as they can (including Pete) and would there be any storylines/call ups that could happen after the fact for the real masochists like me who will likely still be watching?

Right now what they need is a manager that will put their foot in it behind the closed door meeting and make them start play in

Do you think Stanley Consuegra or Jack Wenniger have potential to make the major league club in the next few years?

You guys wanted Buck gone last year. Well, he’s gone. And for his sake, I’m glad he is, because he would get most of the blame with this team. How’s the new guy working out so far? Where’s the motivation?

Thanks for saying this. Locked On Mets cried about him for weeks as well. They won 100 games with Buck but they had one bad season with nearly the same team and all of a sudden it was Buck that was the issue.

@@AnAngelAscending Absolutely. If they’re going to blame one manager for the culture in the clubhouse, then the new manager has to go under the microscope too. Honestly, I think it’s age bias. Buck’s too old, time has passed him by, blah, blah, blah. Mendoza is a nice guy. Has he come in and fixed anything? Not that I can see. I’m sick of the hypocrisy. IMO, Buck is a Hall of Fame manager. While the Mets yet again hired a manager with no managerial experience. How has that worked for them in their history? Not well.

What moral from the Manger and coaches, it seems today the way the Manger answers the question of teams problems was very poor in my opinion, motivation and moral must come from that Manger and his staff for Mets get out of their slump .

And as for Uncle Steve Cohen Miss owner he shouldn't have put a timetable in when he could bring a championship 3 to 5 years any good GM will tell you it's in the draft picks and also the player developments and they can't say exactly when he should have known better than that that was his first mistake

  • @FrankMajor-u4c

I think the Mets need to hire a Don mattingly as a hitting coach or either Keith Hernandez both of them have over $290 lifetime batting averages

  • @FrankMajor-u4c

They need a Batman instructor like Don mattingly or either Keith Hernandez Hernandez by himself lifetime 299 hitter

And I'm going to make fan from 1962 with the biggest mistake Uncle Steve is made is put a timetable on for a championship three to five years no one can tell you that all depends on the draft pick and also the play development

Also the Mets need a manager to put their foot in the behind and make them stop playing

  • @FrankMajor-u4c
