Peter James's early 90s medical thriller Twilight features chills, thrills and spills a plenty. Harvey Swire's obsession with capturing evidence of the afterlife leads him into increasingly sickening uses of medicine to achieve his aim, all while determined-to-prove-herself reporter Kate Hemingway closes in. In this, she's placing herself ever closer to harm.

I like Peter James but I definitely prefer his more recent stuff. I read Dead Letter Drop recently, which was his first book, and you can definitely tell it's an early one.
Hey man, yeah I understand his later stuff represents a different kind of writer. I reckon I could get into Roy Grace
Didn't mention it in the video but the sexual / shock jock kind of stuff was a surprise in this book. Reminded a bit of early McEwan, Cement Garden type stuff. Sexual imagery not really for me tbh!
