@@incumbentvinyl9291 Well, good comedy is ageless; nowdays comedy in Finland is just carbage. Putous, Justimus...Ihmebantu was the last funny and fresh thing. I prefer watching old good stuff than nowdays rubbish.
I'm impressed people still sang the "Seppo" thing at a festival in 2022. That meme was incredibly ancient in internet years even then. Hopefully Gigi D'Agostino doesn't mind it too much
People still sing at nightclubs whenever they play it. However, they only sing the seppo on bi, seppo on bi bi seksuaali part, they don't know the full lyrics anymore :(
Maybe the most legendary meme song was left out: Pizza Enrico - Mitä sinä sanoa. It even topped the official hit list in Finland the time it came out :D
Kalevauva has made some songs about Finnish towns. I almost thought about Buka Bukaan from indonesia and Crazy Frog that was covered by Kobo Kanaeru, but wait, they don't ahve anything to do with finland or its finno-Korean Hyperwar. Crazy Frog was just played a lot on nokia phones under the German distributor Jamba!.
Kiitos, Mauro 🥰 Your Finnish pronunciation is absolutely perfect 👏🏻 Have never seen this video before. ”Kalajoen naiset” was the best, because I was born in Kalajoki Hiekkasärkät and I live in Kalajoki now 😎 When you visit Finland, please, come to Kalajoki. Here you can see one of Finland’s most popular sandy beaches 🌊🌅
There is a meme music subculture of light hearted military songs and parodies that runs pretty deep in Finnish culture itself. Unfortunately I have no idea if any of them have been translated to English.
Kalle Elainten Ystava was sampled in Coconuts - Silver Lights for Hotline Miami. Probably as an homage to the old DOS game 'Tapan Kaikki'. The Korean idol group SES also made a song Dreams Come True that's originally Finnish.
SK and Finland share a proud tradition of mandatory military service, it's so bad that the Nation loses money when BTS was drafted into service for two years. Reunion is currently unknown but might happen next year.
My highschool friends made Sontsan Alla in Järvenpää High school back in the day. I know they were annoyed by the recognition on the streets so I'm not surprised they did something about it.
No way I never realized it was THAT local?? We shared it via Bluetooth in like 5th grade in the same town 💀 (and i later went to the same highschool, wild)
Your laugh is so contagious! I was at Weekend Festival (EDM festival in Espoo) and people were singing "Seppo on bi" when L'amour toujours started playing LOL
I remember experiencing seppo on bi phenomenan on festival for the first time, it was so natural just to start singing seppo and the artist looked so confused because that was like the most banger moment on the whole set😂 we finns dont even know the original song.
That is hilarious, it's a similar thing in Sweden, where we have a similarly Tasteless song, that parodies the American song, by 50 cent, In da club. Rasmus in da Ladgård, also known as Rasmus är sämst. It is just as over the top as Kalle eläinten ystävä. It's made by the group Tampong Tomtarna, who only made such songs. And to this day, I hum along to the songs.
you can put Turmion Kätilöt - naitu in meme music category. if you watched it you will understand why... no clear-headed person directed that music video
Arguably Darude's Sandstorm and the Ievan polkka could also be considered meme songs from Finland since, while not created as memes, were used in them quite a lot in the past...
I have an >Finnish military song translated in English on my channel. It is notr original that ppl put to reaction suggest but at least it does have an lyrics. Really feel WTH moment when foreigner is listening 5- minutes of total gibberish lol

The last one does not open as well in english. Stright translate of kesäkuu(june) is a summer month. So it indicates that summer is over after the summer month. My favourite one as a youngster was "Pate ja Rykä takas pelikentil", but it probably is funny only for cs players
14:42 If you switch the first two letters in Hirvosen Pentti, you get "pervosen hintti". Pervo means pervert and hintti means f*ggot. By the way, this type of jokes, called sananmuunnokset, often dirty, are quite oridnary Finnish humor 13:15 "SiivousPojat is a very old project. Jope Ruonansuu (from Jopet Show) has made succes for making lots of parody songs mostly from Finnish songs. He was multitalented man. I´ve Garfield fan as long as i have known how to read. Karvisen mopo isn´t hikarious or good. I would say that it is mostly annoying. There is tons of parody songs in Finland, but there usually are no subtitles.
About the garfield one, in Finnish slang (at least at some point or in certain areas) someone having a motorbike can also mean them having an erection.
Justimusfilms has SO many epic gringe comedy, thay even had tv show. Think they were first youtubers to have TV show in finland(maybe in the world). Problem with justimus is that, it would be real pain to translate the "slang language"
Never heard any of these, they must be relatively recent. There are a lot of really hilarious comedy songs in Finland, but I guess they don't qualify to this meme song category, since they are actual songs or part of a comedy show
Depends how you define new. At least Seppo on bi and Sontsan alla are from around 2008 (not sure if earlier). Some might are newer and some maybe older though.
It won't translate well and well, not very popular maybe (I like it), but Jätkät - Sanomalehti is based on popular (somewhat on purpose) misheard lyrics of Army of Lovers' Israelism. In it AoL is singing in Hebrew in chorus but for many Finns it sounds like they would sing "Ne vei mun sanomalehden" (They took away my newspaper).
Justimusfilms doesn't have subtitles. So even though they are funny as hell in finnish, you probably wouldn't get the joke. :(
Exactly my thoughts altho it would probably be quite easy to translate them with a simple editing software
They are jonne-huumori
