This movie made me cry as a 5-6 year old kid when I saw it. I remember saying to my parents "Those poor monkeys"
i remember feeling so bad for them as a 5 year old
My father and me used to watch this growing up… I just watched it again as a adult and the ending the whole movie made me cry 😢

This was one of my moms favorite movies I didn't understand what was happening in it until I grew up and watched it as an adult.
I would watch this movie all the time when I was a kid growing up! However, I was always scared of this scene where they radiate Bluebeard.

It scared me too. I didn't understand what was killing Bluebeard, but I understood he was dying. Existential dread ever since.

And the trumpet flourish from Wrath of Khan, etc. He "borrowed" all the time from his earlier scores. Still, the man made fantastic music so I'm not gonna complain.
And it sounds like he reused portions of this score in "Patriot Games" (1992). Come on, James Horner. Do better! lol
