Today's project, I will create an oscilloscope from a cheap bluetooth headset. You will have a bluetooth headset, A smartphone with oscilloscope software. Need 2 resistors 100K or 200K and 1K. It forms a voltage divider. 3.3V zener diode to protect bluetooth headset. The measured frequency is dependent on the quality of the headphones. However, if the frequency is below 10Khz, it works quite well. I'm not sure the software will work with all phones. If it doesn't work, try another software, find the oscilloscope on google play. If you like my video, give me a cup coffee. Thank you very much. For ac protection, the zener diode should be connected to the circuit again in parallel but in reverse in two series. I think there is a mistake in the project.
You should use two zener one pointing the opposite of the other. Think you didn't use the other one because the microphone was polarized and you didn't detach the resistor that was powering it
It only worked for first time then next time it simply refused to detect on any kind of blue tooth device. Device is connected if we reconnect microphone and speaker it also works but when I start Smart oscilloscope it doesn't work. It always respond to built-in microphone of mobile. Any clue 🗝️ in which way it can be rectified?
Like this as it's totally isolated. Not to clear in the video but I suppose the 3z3 is across the small resistor. I would be moor tempted to fit a bnc socket to the BTooth adapter. Just for interest what's the frequency response?
not all phones work, possibly works only on samsung 7 which has a receive bluetooth option, android phones usually are in the transmit mode which cannot receive bluetooth audio. i think bluetooth dongle with transmit mode can be used to connect to bluetooth receivers option as in samsung 7, bluetooth headphone is more complicated.
So you got it to send a signal to the phone & o'scope app, but the o'scope is free running! That includes your actual o'scope on the shelf. Your can't measure anything like that! Do you know how to use an o'scope?! Much more useful if you set the TRIGGER level to freeze the display, to be able to actually see a waveform change over time! That way, your can see changes and make measurements. Also, if zener is going to ground on the earbud, not sure it's "protecting" the circuit. You'll need another zener to do that. However, besides these concerns, I do like the fact that you've shown ppl how to use simple tech to accomplish other things, to get ppl to start "thinking outside the box" so to speak. Thanks for that!
Ok, you get the waveforms. But I am wondering about the signal mesurements. How can you adjust the scale? The signal crossing a tension divisor and a bluetooth volume control... how I know if I am looking at 2V, 20V...? Its not a simply 1x/10x probe. Thank you about your video.
@@PhdHung It is not about "many functions" actualy, but about what you are measuring and how the smartphone see it. It's ok if you simply want to know the waveform and nothing more. But this connection (with false measurements) is almost useless. Thank you about your video. It was a interesting idea anyway.
