Excellent video, just like the old days. The house looks so lovely. It will be just a few more days until the house is wind and water tight, then we get to see skimming!
@@darrenthebuilder Hi Darren, yes the flashing has to be under the DPC on the party wall because if installed above any moisture will track behind the flashing and into the below space / room which no one wants. From Magaluf as I’m on holiday and still watching your vids
Do yourselves a favour and build some simple ladders from leftover battens. They make moving up and down the roof much easier and there's much less risk of cracking tiles. With really fragile roofs I've seen roofers put these ladders on top of an old foam mattress to make 100% sure they didn't crack any tiles (in our case an asbestos shingle roof from the early 70s). I use these ladders twice a year on our shed's roof to drain and refill the solar pool heater and they're amazing.
Great progress! I've been wondering why the old garage belonging to the neighbours is still there ? You went above and beyond clearing access on your side. Why didn't they clear it for their access? OK maybe it's asbestos but you have already paid once before to get rid of their asbestos problem.
This kit is marked TZ which is got plate tiles 5-45mm thick. There’s 2 other kits. One for slates and one for high profile tiles like Double romans etc
@@beenflicker1 these aren’t velux. Can’t remember the brand but the flashing is for these tiles. I get what you mean as I’ve installed the velux ones. I can use normal soakers here
Well done Darren and team! You have a good bunch! Getting all this covered to work inside for the colder days to come.💪👌
cracking work, what a beautiful job you and the team are making of the place(s), best of luck weather wise for the following weeks

Certainly cracking on now. Be nice for it to be sealed up before weather starts its decline, I’m sure you’ll achieve that. Well done guys. Stay well.
The job is looking good Lads
Hi Darren, just a quick note make sure your step flashing is installed under the DPC 👍
Do you mean under the cavity trays that Iinstallwe above the roof on the party wall?

Because they moaned about stuff when it was us but yet don’t do what needs doing in their side. Typical
@@darrenthebuilder thanks
Odd window handles in the roof but good job.
Now taking shape very quickly, well done Darren and team.
Cowboy build baby..👀?
End tiles on gable need to be nailed to stop them being lifted in strong winds
I put a screw in them
Need to be taken off for the wet verge to be laid as you go up the gable...
Coming along nicely
Those are seriously sexy roof tiles.

Well done lads, but I think that’s the wrong flashing kit for them tiles?I may be wrong

Don’t know what sort of windows they are but if they were velux windows you get a soaker kit for plain tiles that kit is for interlocking tiles

Where are your tiles from?
They are Marley tiles
@@darrenthebuilder I work for a roofing firm, they look like our natural red tiles until I saw the dimples in the nib ends 👍
