Girl- try getting a continuous glucose monitor- you will know what foods trigger blood glucose spikes and you will know what foods to enjoy and avoid. I agree with you about low carb- it did wonders for me and I lost weight! Look up the carnivore diet ❤

    • @dolcefoodie
      @dolcefoodie  Год назад

      I might do that! Will it show something even if my insulin was high but glucose normal on my blood test? I’m not sure how these things work exactly.

    • @Enigma32174
      @Enigma32174 Год назад

      @@dolcefoodie No it won’t show you insulin levels from what I understand but the relationship between the blood sugar spike and the food you’re eating to prevent you from getting those a insulin spikes you’re trying to avoid. Some people react to different foods differently which is why it taught me a lot!

    Hi beautiful! So happy to see your face! You and I are in a similar situation. I’ve been with my current company for 11 years. I worked my way up to mid level management and have seemed to reach my ceiling. I went back to school last year and got my degree and obtained two professional certifications with the goal to branch into another area with the company. And can’t seem to get consideration for those roles. I had the realization that I will never be able to achieve my career goals if I stay where I’m at…which is a shame…. Yesterday I had an interview with another company… it went so well that she wants me to come next week to meet the CEO .. wish me luck 🤞🏽 not saying you should leave but don’t give up on your dreams because others can’t see your potential ❤

    • @dolcefoodie
      @dolcefoodie  Год назад +1

      It definitely sounds like where I am! I actually did get an email back yesterday from that one person I reached out for guidance, I’ll hopefully hop on a call with her later, so that’s nice. I still don’t think this company will make it easy for me to switch paths… they’d want me to just keep going on the leadership path upwards and me resisting that is probably what’s throwing them off. I really don’t want another leadership position where I’d be doing what I’m already doing, no growth for me, and none of it is interesting to me either. If I have to be in leadership, I’ll just stay where I’m at with the wonderful team and boss I have now and will just protect my bubble while I’m on this side of the pond. Maybe I’ll have better luck in Finland. 🧡 good luck with your follow-up with the CEO, sounds very promising! Please tell me later if you got the job and how you’re liking it :)

    I love that you are back. 😍 You are one of my favorite ASMRists. I follow you on Instagram as well, and have been seeing your posts from glucosegoddess, I love her and follow most of her advice. Just because you have the genes for hashimoto doesn’t mean that you will have it in the future. Gluten sensitivity is generally linked with thyroid problems, especially hashimoto. Quitting gluten might prevent you from getting that kind of diagnosis in the future. Just make your research about the gluten, your future self might thank you for making such a change in your life. And likewise type 2 diabetes in the family doesn’t have to be your fate, either, it is more like the result of the eating habits of the family rather than genetic predisposition. So it is great that you are working on your insulin level. Blood sugar levels might be within the normal ranges for a long time before getting a diabetes diagnosis but the most important component is the insulin levels. Controlling the insulin means you are on the right track. 👍🏻 Sorry for the loooong message, I work in the nutrition field and help my clients with very similar stuff, that’s why I wanted to contribute. 😊

      I loved all of this! I really reflected on this comment a lot. And yes I believe we’ve chatted on Instagram before too lol. I’m trying my best to be self-aware and also proactive. I just don’t know if I’m ready to fully give up on gluten lol. I can lessen it for sure, which happens naturally with lowcarb, but I haven’t been able to commit to giving it up yet. It doesn’t cause me any complications which makes it harder to give up lol. My sis has celiac so having witnessed her symptoms, I always wonder why gluten still agrees so well with me haha.

    • @sahikas5398
      @sahikas5398 11 месяцев назад

      Yes, we did chat on Instagram as well.😊 Well it is completely understandable that you are not ready to quit gluten all together, it is definitely not the easiest thing to do. But before quitting it completely you can do something called elimination diet in which you remove certain foods that might cause sensitivity, allergy and inflammation in the body for at least 23 days (this is the minimum time that is required for the renewal of the gut cells) It is like a jump start for the body. I loved how good my body felt during an elimination diet and after that I decided to quit gluten completely. I am still very happy with my decision after almost 2 years. Just take one step at a time and wish you best of luck in your getting healthier journey. 😊 And I absolutely love watching your low carb asmr videos as well.😍

    A friend has Hashimotos and she eats high protein/gluten free because lots of carbs and/or gluten doesn’t play well with her body. So I know it’s anecdotal evidence, but everything you’re saying tracks with my friend’s experience. Good on you for being proactive with your health!

    • @dolcefoodie
      @dolcefoodie  Год назад

      I’ve read that about gluten too! I still wonder if it’s a strict line with the gluten or not, because I’ve never had any stomach issues with gluten and I’ve read that some people do experience that (with hashimoto’s) and thus it makes sense for them to drop gluten… however, with lowcarb I barely have any anyway, but there’s lowcarb bread and tortillas that for now I would keep eating every now and then if they’re what I crave. :) I just don’t have any right now except these bagels. I think that’s a jump for the future me to make, lowcarb is restricting enough for now lol.

    Hey there, nice to see you again :) i dont know if it helps but im trained in mental health. I know when clients have issues with insulin or thyroid, it can cause low mood.
    Equally when a client believes they have underlined health condition or at risk of developing it, that can lower a person mood too. Thoughts occur ' oh my body isnt working the way I want to, ill have change my diet or routine, maybe even go on medication'.
    That might explain one reason for your funk. Im happy to provide resources or website if you think it would be useful.
    Ill also say, you seem very ambitious and career focused. Maybe take time to reflect on far you have come, direct your restless energy into something else your passionate about.
    Thats just my view, hope it helps :) x

    • @dolcefoodie
      @dolcefoodie  Год назад +1

      All of this helped a lot. Thank you. 🧡 something I’m reflecting and actively trying to change now is my need to achieve and maintain perfection, when it’s not realistic or healthy at all. I’m not quite there yet where I can fully let it go, but I’m acknowledging and working on it. :) goes along with your advice a bit, too!

    • @taraosullivan3046
      @taraosullivan3046 Год назад

      @dolcefoodie I will say that's one of your many strengths, good level of self awareness and openess to change. It can be hard to reflect, to try to figure out the why and how? I tend to create a time line, with my clients starting from early childhood, of when they 1st noticed the thoughts I need to be perfect, or low self esteem element ' I'm not good enough'.
      Just be gentle, kind and compassionate whenever you can. Give yourself permission to rest when you feel tired, cry when your down kinda thing. Remember perfectionism doesn't exist.

    Maybe it’s the type of carbs ur having?
    Have you tried tracking your food/weight lifting?
    If you properly pair the two you’ll look and feel really wonderful
    Have whole wheat fresh baked bread/ everything should be as homemade as possible because there are way too many bad ingredients /additives in packaged food

    • @dolcefoodie
      @dolcefoodie  Год назад +1

      I actually already do both, for months now, whole wheat carbs and weight lifting, plus I eat according to the correct order. I’d done it for a while when I had my insulin higher on my blood test. Now granted, it was only one blood test, and I had had some more sugars than usual because my dad was visiting and brought candies lol. But I do think I have a tendency to be insulin resistant even if I’m not fully yet, because lowcarb always makes me feel good and carbs always make me feel sleepy. I just find cutting carbs works better for me than sticking with whole wheat, even though I wish I could include more because I loooove carbs.
