I had a kit you put together when I was 14 so I assembled my own metal detector. My big sister had lost her school ring a year earlier and I was able to find it. First time she was ever nice to me.
A million dogs barking at the tv at the 1 minute 30 mark!
I had one as a kid in the 70's, but only ever found ring pulls off pop cans. Perhaps I should have checked the 'family well' as he suggested.
Same here (and at the same era) - ring pulls, bits of tinfoil and very rarely, the occasional 2p coin!
I'll have one of those last ones, just need to find a Hillman Hunter estate to put it in 👍
I always wanted one, so when I retire going to get one, never know might strike lucky 👍
Get one from Ebay soon Garry.
Sometimes i wait for John Cleese or Eric Idle and more in this Scene;), Greetings Ringo
a little transmitter sends signals from a known tone on the speaker, and when it detects metal the signals get deflected and the tone changes to show theres metal there..
That's what a metal detector does. Never mind deflected tone transmitters. Don't try and build a better mouse trap, just buy a metal detector.
Still have a pulse power sandpiper 1 in working order and a vanquish 540
A metal detector? A tinnitus generator yes . 😂
Brill as amature detectorist with 6 yrs under my coil it's easier now with v I d units LCD diff modes
And can charge at home or in car 👍
looks like an early Deus🤣
It will never take off
With all due respect, Mr. Fletcher is dressed rather formally for a day out on a scavenger hunt.
I suppose I might have as well - having had the chance to go on the tele, but all the same, it is a little impractical.
British attire..must keep up appearances old chap.
@@whiteonggoy7009 "Keeping up appearances".
Of course 👍
Not out of place at all. Tradesmen still wore a shirt and tie back then.
@@MrSimonmcc I have been going through the day, thinking, "Well, yes, I remember him, and him.."
I do occasionally use the old one about,
"Only funerals and court appearances", when asked about my shirt and tie.
Take off the steel toe caps
What am I doing wrongly? Strange use of the word 'wrongly', which is normally put before a verb. Surprising to hear it from a 1970s presenter.
Can we have more Heavy Metal/NWOBHM Documentaries on BBC Archive please????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
