Tasty playing across the board. Very creative those guys are. I would love to see a ladies kick, snare, hat challenge. Sarah Thawer, pocket queen, Cindi Blackman, and Sheila E.
Rob gets my vote for feel. Easily set himself apart from the pack with the way the groove felt in the pocket. I liked some of the technicality of the other players but Rob's just had that groove.
@@Randler101 It wasn't about "flashiest", the video litterally says "tastiest". Rob Brown wins that one because it felt nicer than the others. Easier to move to.
Yeap, I was thinking about Jeff Pocaro explaining "Rosanna" when I heard him. He was my pick right off the bat. Anytime I get to jam with a drummer I've never played with, I always ask them if they wanna jam a Rosanna groove and if they pull it off, you know it's gonna be a great jam.
He's like... "oh yeah, here's what comes to mind first.. lemme just throw out one of the most difficult understated shuffles of all time for yas'!!" 😂🔥
As a bassist, I could sit in Rob Browns groove all month! And Adam Tuminaro had such a great finesse and snap with his groove, really great. Casey Cooper killed it with that half time groove too! Glad you gave him another shot! Joshua Crawford & Daniel Bernard have A++++ feel and finesse as well! MAN! I’d be ecstatic to play with any of ‘em‼️ 10’s across the board! It’s a draw for me!!!! GREAT VIDEO‼️🔥🔥🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I'm all for flashy and technical chops when the moment calls for it, but man Rob has set his "less is more" aproach right there among the greatest, the man has a pocket so deep you could lose a submarine in there... lol
@@regis.mp3 I am a musician. Been playing guitar since I was 12. It's only 16 years but I still know which one sounds good to the ear and which didn't. (for me..) The original comment says this guy was shredding. I just don't see it...
Adam Tuminaro has that really cool flam accent thing, I really dig the tight quiet hats and stuff too. Rob Brown had the tastiest groove though imo. I really dug his driving power and overall simple yet stylish groove, best of both worlds.
Crawfords groove is like a Purdy/Bonham “fool in the rain/Roseanna” shuffle which I have a hard time not siding with but Adams Groove timing was decadently tight.
Shoutout to Joshua Crawford, Casey Cooper, Daniel Bernard, Rob Brown and Adam Tuminaro! #gearfest2023
Its Daniel and Rob but Casey's snare sound I really³ ❤

Rob Brown playing a simple yet tasty pattern 👌

Hear hear
Agreed. I love his improve your pocket video here on YT by Drumeo. He grooves so funkin hard on "Broadway Hustle"
it's Footsteps In The Dark, no?
I agree 100%. All groove, enough room for any musician to lock in where they feel it. Nothing showboaty, just tight.
why is noone talking about Daniel? he absolutely killed it.
Daniel is one of my go to guys when I’m trying to learn a new song for church!! He kills it every time!
It was a pretty basic groove, that’s why.
Adam's wasnt catchy, it was just technical and overly-syncopated, Daniel, Rob and Cooper had the best@@Randler101
@@Randler101 It wasn't about "flashiest", the video litterally says "tastiest". Rob Brown wins that one because it felt nicer than the others. Easier to move to.
I liked his the most too!
Daniel hit the spot 🔥🔥🔥
Joshua just pulled a 12/8 Purddie Shuffle straight out of his pocket, bro get's my vote

huh, I thought it stayed in the pocket really well ;)
Yeah that’s the pocaro shuffle
Heard that Purddie Shuffle immediately.
He's like... "oh yeah, here's what comes to mind first.. lemme just throw out one of the most difficult understated shuffles of all time for yas'!!" 😂🔥
Daniel absolutely killed it!
Could listen to Rob Brown’s groove all day
That Rosanna beat will always get me.
Rob knows what’s up!
Frreal that was sick
Not my vote for this but he would be my pick for drummer in a band.
Rob had that fuckin STANK on it!
That was too easy. I'm a guitarist, and I could've played that 😂😅😅😂😂
@@onlyhappensonceI absolutely understand why you think that but I also understand why you definitely couldn’t play it.
Let's see paul Allen's kick-snare-hat groove
Underrated comment.
Patrick Bateman?
Actually paul Allen is a sweetwater sales engineer

Totally agreed on Rob's groove as a fellow bassist. The funkiest of all of them to my ears and crying out for a good bass line.
Adam is sooo good. Really dig his feel
Casey’s 2nd chance was well deserved, that was my favorite
Adam Tuminaro gets my vote.
Same.
Daniel and Adam's grooves are Top-shelf tasty AF🔥🔥
Rob Brown has so much pocket!!!!
Exactly what I said. Always tight!
Yep that’s my pick
My boy Joshua hit it with the classic Purdie shuffle
The P-hub shuffle 😉
the up beat is offset thats not a purdie shuffle

Casey came back with a vengeance with that 2nd chance
Bro Joshua's groove is now living in my head rent free
Good thing you gave him a 2nd chance. My favorite of the bunch!
I was just boutta say he most definitely was gonna have the best groove 😭😭
Rob. I love the confident simplicity in what rob played.
Rob Brown & Adam Tuminaro. The consistent kicks is what made them stand out.
Rob is the only one that made my body move along with the groove. the best drummers know how to make something simple sound absolutely perfect.
Man, Rob got that old school funk vibe for real tho
Adam’s was dope, followed by Casey’s redo 😂
This is the only correct response 👌
Rob proved that simple can sound beautiful
Adam! - sick snare dynamics.
I wouldn't be able to help myself and just play 'Fool In The Rain'
Joshua was the grooviest, hands down. Everyone else was skilled, but the this was a clear win for josh when it come to groove
What Adam played so reminded me of Guy Garveys "Belly of the whale" and it freaking rocks. Both the groove and the song ❤
Joshua. Nothing can "beat" the Purdie Shuffle.
If I go to a party and there are 5 great cakes, I couldn’t choose a tastiest. I’ll just complement them all and go home smiling.
Good thing you gave Casey a mulligan, because he did not disappoint!
nah adam's grooves was absolutely positively SCRUMPTIOUS!!!
All of these guys were good!!!!! My opinion of course! Thanks 😊
Joshua, his groove had me hooked from the start lol
Sounds familiar too 😏
😂when you hear it, you hear it
Rosanna - TOTO.
Casey’s groove was surprisingly good
Man I wish I had 1/4 of the talent these dudes have... They're so good!
For sure the one who looks like they had the most fun playing
Definitely Adam!
Rob by far. There’s nothing else like the sass of a good Traditional Grip player!
Nate Smith. What he does with those 3 parts is like he’s created a new instrument
Josh with the almost PH groove. Loved it
The fact I was thinking the same thing 💀
It's Rosanna shuffle
That's Rosanna by Toto you coomer
almost got me bricked up
Adam’s groove, Daniel’s fill at the end.
Yeah they were both really good with their dynamics
Adam took me on a journey with that groove
I'm all for flashy and technical chops when the moment calls for it, but man Rob has set his "less is more" aproach right there among the greatest, the man has a pocket so deep you could lose a submarine in there... lol
I liked Adam's. They were all phenomenally awesome.
Once I saw that Rob Brown was rocking traditional grip I knew he was gonna shred
But he didn't lmao .. problem the most boring and unsatisfying one.
Yeah pretty basic

Josh Crawford and the Orlando drummer!
Adams got that funky Jaki Liebezeit Can-groove
Adam Tuminaro has that really cool flam accent thing, I really dig the tight quiet hats and stuff too. Rob Brown had the tastiest groove though imo. I really dug his driving power and overall simple yet stylish groove, best of both worlds.
Daniel with that fill tho 😮
Rob Brown❤
Nothing beats the Purdie shuffle! Nothing.
Daniel's is groovy. Adam blew me away. Rob's is quite simple, but it went so good with the fill at the end.
Brown...his feel..👍🏼
Daniel's groove was by far the coolest, imo.
That Rosanna groove never gets old.
It wasn't the Rosanna shuffle. The snare is played more than what he was doing just there
@@dustinhope1913 I know I can do the shuffle myself.
It was the PH drum intro, with a slight Rosanna shuffle.
@@dustinhope1913 its close enough to it regardless those are the best types of grooves and why porcaro is the groove master
@@dustinhope1913So what if it's not the exact same beat. I can still sing the vocal melody over the groove and it fits.
Adam and Daniel
Rob just got that sweet little Bob Ross groove.
Rob's on fire. Adam, too.
I like Rob but I admit I love a nice simple smooth beat.
No Contest...my man Beatdown Brown killed it!
Rob's drumming always hit different for me. Super tasty.
Daniel's might be a close second but nothing beats Adam's impeccable pocket and variation
Joshua at the very beginning had the nastiest ghost notes love that shit
Adam Tuminaro's groove is Excellent!
Daniel Bernard!!! 😃😃😃👌👌👌
Beatdown Brown all the way!
Joshua took that dub like a champ!
casey cooper is always having a hard time hahaha! hes an underdog on that line up haha
Joshua came out here and played Rosanna, and it was as tasty as possible
Yes, you are correct
Rob has such a groove, they are all good. But Rob was fused with the set
It's a tie across the board. Congratulations Gentlemen you all are groove masters.
Rob gets points for not just showing off, but Adam had the tastiest groove.
Zack grooves would’ve demolished this challenge
I swear to God
ALL of these people held back, significantly. He's not as great as you think.
Zack would have just played a shitload of *c h o p s* followed by a Dilla beat.

Adam and Rob. Grooves so yummy
Adam rocks
Rob... clean as hell
The second to the last guy killed it but I’ve heard that beat before on a 60’s 70’s record. Just can’t think of it at the moment 😊
Loved them allllll!
Adam had the most nuance
Give to Rob...Josh in second
LET THE SECOND GUY COOK HE WAS ABOUT TO SERVE UP SOME FIRE!!!
The last guy who got a second chance wins. Second to last guy was pretty good too.
Joshua is the winner 🏆
Joshua Crawford Is my fav
That's the Rosanna shuffle
Gotta give it to Josh on this one
From a technical standpoint: Joshua
From an originality standpoint: Adam
the first one knew what he was doing
Adam's is the tastiest of them all
Crawfords groove is like a Purdy/Bonham “fool in the rain/Roseanna” shuffle which I have a hard time not siding with but Adams Groove timing was decadently tight.
Rob Brown - pocket and feel 😊
Tastiest groove - Adam
Best feel - Rob
Robb Brown. Adam 2nd
Crawford: too busy
Bernard: stiff and formal
Brown: doesn't have swing
Tominaro: YES YES YES, THIS is what we want.
The first one has that purdy vibe
Rob was the best but Adam did great
